We're not talking about 9-2 LSU. We're talking about 9-2 UL-Monroe.

And? It's 2019 in Jaymo's dynasty, so it's entered true fantasy at this point. If they recruited good enough players, what makes UL-Monroe so unworthy? If that's the case, what worthiness does UNLV have being #2 and set up for a national championship game?
Just because you or others may think the mid majors shouldn't deserve a chance in the polls doesn't mean I do. If they are 9-2 and there are no outstandingly better records (12-0, 11-1, 10-1) behind them, then screw it, if the game feels they should be #5 then I say good for them. I'm tired of seeing the mid major teams constantly get shit on, both in real life and in the game.
#TheScriptIsDead
Good grief, you're sensitive. Calm down.
1) Jaymo is UNLV so, by default, they don't count. He'll probably start going undefeated every season now if he stays at UNLV.
2) You don't have to champion mid-majors to a graduate of Southern Mississippi and UL-Lafayette. I'm well aware of the shade mid-majors get.
3) I'm aware that the deeper one gets into dynasty mode, the sillier the rankings get since I'm even further into my dynasty than both of you but even I have to chuckle at UL-Monroe, of all schools, being #5 in the country with 2 losses playing in the Sun Belt.
What settings are you using Jaymo?
May tinker with one of these
I know, just between college football rankings and tournament bids in college basketball, the whole power 5/group of 5 bullshit, even the comments of "who cares" by power 5 team fans on ESPN or Facebook or wherever else when a game between two mid majors is being covered (there were even power 5 fan fucktards saying "who cares, these teams don't matter" about the fucking Army-Navy game!), it's just all seriously getting fucking old with me.
The mid majors get no respect whatsoever, any of them do any good and manage to make it to the polls in college football or be on the bubble or even into the NCAA tournament, and they still get bashed and derided.
I'm about to the point of saying screw it, just let the power 5 go start their own damn division. Then I won't have to put up with their cocksucking fans and comments anymore just because my preferred school (and the rest of the "lessers") aren't a power 5 conference team. They have no problem shelling out money to play the "lesser" teams so they can have a 10th home game, but heaven forbid any of those "lesser" teams do good and demand some respect in the polls or tournament.

Sorry about briefly hijacking your dynasty thread Jaymo.

No worries man. I appreciate your insights and contributions to this site.
Boy, I go out for a few hours and miss a great discussion. Well, it's good to know that at least a handful of people read my posts. I appreciate the interest guys. I'm not at the ps3 right now so I cannot check but I will give you the top 10 when I get on. As for the :UL_Monroe: situation, it is pretty bizarre. However, all I can tell you is that they have moved into the "elite" bracket as pretty much for the last five seasons they have been ranked in the top 25. Last season (just checking my stats) they ended the 2018 campaign as #4 in the :BCS:
The two teams in my dynasty that have taken a beating and fallen off the mountain so to speak... :Oregon: and :LSU: These teams are just brutal now. I guess the LSU talent is switching to ULM but there is no rhyme or reason for Oregon.
Just out of curiosity does anyone want a regular update on a team(s) or conference that you like/follow/ or are interested in? Smooth has set the benchmark for his detail but if people want me to include some details in a weekly wrap-up I will happily do so. Let me know what you would like to see and I will do my best to get it to you. Players, stats, scores, etc. are all easy enough to obtain.
Yeah, having that consistency can definitely help. I've seen that over the years in my dynasty, a team from the Mountain West or Conference USA dominates for a year or two, gets a couple rankings and then the game seems to become more friendly to them in regards to higher rankings. That was definitely on display that year that Army and Navy both made it into the top 5. Army had been cracking the top 25 for a couple years before that and had only one loss that year, while Navy went undefeated and crashed their way to national title game out of the AAC. Definitely wouldn't happen in real life, but based on that year and the previous couple years of rankings and results in my dynasty, it was logical enough.
I appreciate that Jaymo. I find it helps the immersion of my dynasty, not only my results but also giving the readers a vested interest in following to see how their own teams do as well with weekly updates on their teams as the season goes along.
As for updates over here, for me personally, it doesn't necessarily have to be weekly, but maybe ever 3-4 weeks, just a brief update on how Navy and Utah State are doing, what their records are, where they're placed in their conferences and divisions. Just to see how they're doing and surviving your dynasty.
Otherwise, keep up the good work! Always a good read.
Here is the top 10 (BCS) hours before the Conference Championships play out.
1. :Ohio_State: 12-0
2. :UNLV: 11-1
3. :Alabama: 11-1
4. :Texas: 11-1 (defeated :Texas_Tech: 37-7 to wrap up the :Big_12: )
5. :Georgia: 11-1
You will notice, no :UL_Monroe: they fell to #22 with a tough loss to :Louisiana: 31-28
6. :Louisville: 10-2
7. :Florida: 9-3
8. :Georgia_Tech: 9-3
9. :Cincinnati: 11-1
10. :UCLA: 11-1
Damn, UL-Monroe let me down. :(
And I do have to say that's messed up with Florida and Georgia Tech. No way they should be top 10 with three losses. And no way they should be ahead of Cincinnati and UCLA.

For the viewers...
#24 :Navy: beat :Army: 29-24 to end the regular season with a 9-3 record. They finish 3rd in the :AAC: with a 7-2 conference record and second in A division behind :Cincinnati:
:Utah_State: had a tough year going 5-7 and 4-5 in :Mountain_West: and 3rd in the Mountain division.
With the 2019 regular season the award for worst in the nation goes to... :Texas_Tech: They end the season with a 1-11 (1-8) record and the 126th spot ranking.
Current projections will see :Navy: battle :USC: for the :Fight_Hunger_Bowl:
:Utah_State: could be looking for a new DC as Wesley Love has the 75th strongest D and gives up a whopping 31.7 ppg. He only has an approval rating of 48%.
For those curious about the Conference rankings, here they are.
1. :SEC:
2. :ACC:
3. :Big_Ten:
4. :Pac_12:
5. :AAC:
6. :Big_12:
7. :Mountain_West:
8. :CUSA:
9. :MAC:
10. :Sun_Belt:
The American Conference has a rank of 34.2 as compared to 38.3 for the Big XII and 41.3 for the MWC.
Ouch, rough year for Utah State. Glad to see Navy doing good. You gonna hit the CCG this weekend?

As per viewer request...
:Southern_Miss: finished 3rd overall in :CUSA: and 3rd in the East division. The Golden Eagles had a record of 7-5 and went 5-3 in conference play. They finished up one game back of :FAU: and :UAB: A 38-21 loss to UAB in week 12 sealed their fate. Southern Miss will likely be invited to the :Hawaii_Bowl: to take on :Fresno_State:
:Louisiana: had a petty weak season as they hosted a 4-7 record and a 2-6 conference record which earned them dead-last in the conference. The team did however end the season with 2 straight wins against :Arkansas_State: and a shocking upset over :UL_Monroe: OC Reggie Flowers could be released at the end of the season as he only has a 43% approval rating. However, his offense is ranked 45th overall. DC Fred Martin is likely a "dead-man walking" with only 21% job security.
How are the Irish doing?
Conference Championship Week:
:New_Mexico: vs #2 :UNLV: @ Sports Authority Field, Denver, Co.
On paper this game isn't even close. UNLV has an advantage in every category except pass offense. Weather will not be a factor. It's chilly but the sun is shining. The only wildcard for today is that finally QB Thomas Morris will start. How will he play after such a long break???
UNLV wins the toss and elects to kickoff. On NMU's first play the QB throws a pic six to Daniel Simon. 9 seconds into the game it's 7-0 UNLV. On NMU's next drive it only lasts two series and UNLV forces a punt. Jalaal returns the punt 44 yards and UNLV starts at the NMU 48. A few minutes later, Morris hits Jalaal from 14 yards out and that makes it 14-0 UNLV with 3:32 left in the 1st quarter.
NMU then moves the ball with ease down the field. They convert on 2 4th downs, including a 4th and 3 from the 3 yard line. What is up with that? 14-7 UNLV to start the 2nd.
UNLV, possibly still stunned by NMU's offense, goes 3 and out. NMU takes over at their own 39. In some absolutely bizarre play calling, UNM goes for it on 4th and 2... finally UNLV stops them and UNLV takes the ball inside UNM territory. Winston ends the drive with a 30 yard FG and that makes it 17-7 UNLV with 3:12 left in the 2nd.
UNM starts from their 20 and finally go 3 and out. UNLV gets the ball with 2:41 left. With 45 seconds leftMorris hits Coker at the goalline and he takes it in for the TD to make it 24-7 UNLV. That gives Morris over 100 yards passing and 2 TD tosses in the first half.
As the sun goes behind the mountians UNLV has the game well in hand. The key is to keep the foot on the gas but also make sure that nobody gets injured. The Bowl Cmte. needs to see an effort orthy of a N.C Championship bid.
UNLV starts the half with a beauty of a drive resulting in an 8 yard TD strike from Morris to TE Green. That makes it 31-7 with 5:28 left in the 3rd. UNM goes 6 and out on their next possession and UNLV goes to work again, starting at midfield. Winston ends the drive with a 29 yard FG and that makes it 34-7 UNLV with 1:40 left n the 3rd.
UNM's O is now dead in the water and a handful of plays later UNLV starts again. On his 18 carry, Coker breaks 100 yards rushing. The 3rd comes to an end with UNLV on the move. QB Morris runs a read option and takes it in from the 13 and that puts UNLV up 41-7 with 6:36 left in the game.
UNM continues to play dead and UNLV gets the ball again. With 4:42 remaining coach Jaymo, makes the call to go MASS SUBS. Abe Lexman comes into the game and there is a huge applause. The drive is a short one and UNLV has to punt. With less than 3 minutes remaining, UNM is on the move. However, they stall at midfield. UNLV starts at their own 18 and chew the clock. Lexman brings the game to an end.
The final score :UNLV: 41 :New_Mexico: 7
Congrats to UNLV, your 2019 :Mountain_West: Champions!!!
Player of the game honours go to...
QB Thomas Morris 19/25 199 yards 3 TD (plus 1 carry for 13 yards and a TD)
RB Frank Coker 21 carries 119 yards (plus one recieving TD on 4 catches for 43 yards)
WR Mal Jalaal 147 yards in returns
:Notre_Dame: had a tough season going 5-7. They had some big losses on the schedule, including :Texas::Georgia_Tech::Michigan_State::USC::South_C arolina: They are ranked #63 for their championship contender ranking. However, by 2022 they should be on pace for a top 14 finish. As it stands now they are not bowl eligible for this season. OC Charlie Weiss is on the hot seat and is expected to be pushed out. ND's D was ranked #96 this season.

Spoiler: show
For the viewers, we have a very exciting Bowl matchup...
In the :Armed_Forces_Bowl: :Southern_Miss: (7-5) (5-3) will take on #19 :Navy: (9-3) (7-2)
Late in the 2nd, USM puts a nice drive together (including a fake punt) but the drive ends with a missed 40 yard FG. Navy then responds with their own fake punt... except they cannot convert and USM takes over at the 49. USM's kicker misses his 2nd kick of the half as he falls short from 46 yards out. The score remains 13-0 at the half.
If you don't like run games, you will hate this game! Navy is 0/3 for 0 yards passing while USM is 3/7 for 13 yards passing. Navy has 126 yards of rushing while USM has 59 on the ground.
USM will need to step up if they want to win this game.
USM's woes continue as they start the 3rd with a 58 yard FG miss. That is now 3 misses in the game for USM's kicker. Navy then shocks everyone by completing a 25 yard pass in the back of the endzone for a TD. That makes it 20-0 Navy.
Navy continues to score as they convert on a 49 yrd FG to increase the lead to 23-0. USM ends the quarter by not being able to convert on 4th down... the wr dropped it in the endzone.
Adding insult to injury, Navy converts on a 46 yard FG halfway through the 4th to increase the lead to 26-0. Navy chews the clock for most of the half and claim victory.
The final score.... :Navy: 26 :Southern_Miss: 0
This game was never in doubt. Navy was in control from start to finish.
Navy passing 5/10 79 yards 1 TD
USM passng 9/18 42 yards
Navy rushing 51 carries 188 yards 1 TD
USM rushing 35 carries 116 yards
Navy: 4 sacks
USM 5 sacks
Player of the game: Navy kicker, Mark Rutledge 4/4 FG 2/2 extra point
So with that, Smooth takes the victory in the first ever "Soulja-Pancake Classic." :)
I'm feeling two things right now. First, the NCAA can go sit on it and rotate(!) for denying us all a UNLV championship berth. I'm torching those bastards.
Second, heck of a game between Navy and Southern Miss. I'm glad to see Navy still dominating on the ground. Thanks to coaching carousel, while Navy is still a run heavy team in my dynasty, they have been known to chuck the ball for 200-300+ yards in games from time to time. They prefer run but aren't at all afraid to pass in my dynasty.
#TheScriptIsDead
The Battle for the :Rose_Bowl: begins as #3 :UNLV: takes on #8 :UCLA:
The weather is perfect; the teams are ready; the fans are pumped... it's go time. UCLA has the #7 rush offense while UNLV has the #1 rush D. This should be a great matchup. Coach Jaymo has been on record saying that UCLA is highly overrated. Will those words come back to bite him?
UNLV loses the toss and UCLA elects to kickoff. UNLV starts at their own 19 and goes on a ball control 16 play 72 yard drive that took 6:39 off the clock and ended in a 3 yard TD scamper by RB Coker. 12 rushes and 4 pass plays... very impressive and it's 7-0 UNLV.
UCLA gets the ball on their 20 and using the no huddle race down the field. The quarter ends with UCLA in scoring position. However, LE Thompson makes a shoestring tackle on 3rd down and as a result UCLA is forced to go for the FG. The 40 yard FG is good and UNLV's lead shrinks to 7-3.
UNLV starts from the 25. Again slow moving ball control with a heavy run focus and the Rebels march down the field. On 4th and 1 from the UCLA 22 coach Jaymo decides to go for it and Coker converts and gets the ball to the 12. However, Morris cannot hit the target when he needs to and inston comes on for the 26 yard FG. That makes it 10-3 UNLV with 3:20 left in the 2nd quarter.
With 1:26 left UCLA hits a 26 yard FG. That makes it 10-6 UNLV. UNLV starts at the 20 and they go into an up tempo offense. Jalaal makes a 41 yard snag and with 10 seconds left, UNLV gets down to the UCLA 10. Winston hits a 26 yard FG with 2 seconds left and that increases the lead to 13-6 UNLV. A squib kick brings the half to an end.
This has been a great game thus far. UCLA's offense is very impressive. The gameplan was to keep them off the field by having a ball control offense and that is exactly what has happened today as UNLV held the ball for almost 9 minutes more than UCLA. Coker had 17 carries for 84 yards. He will have a bunch more in the 2nd half.
UCLA starts the half by storming down the field. However, who else but Daniel Simon makes a pic at the UNLV 25 and the offense comes back out on the field. UNLV dodged a bullet there. However, UNLV is forced to punt. UCLA gets pinned to the 2 from an amazing punt by Irby. UCLA is then held to a 3 and out and UNLV starts at the 43 of UCLA.
Coker goes over 100 yards as UNLV pushes towards the endzone. The 3rd comes to an end with the score still 13-6. With 6:58 left, Coker takes it in from the six and that makes the score 20-6 UNLV. Will that be enough???
UCLA gets to the 46 but is forced to punt. UNLV then burns the clock and with 1:14 left, Morris hits WR Samuel wide open in the endzone and that makes it 27-6 UNLV. This game is over and it's time for the mass subs.
UCLA fumbles the ball with 51 seconds left and UNLV takes over. Lexman kneels the ball and it's done!
The final score... :UNLV: 27 :UCLA: 6
The game ball goes to RB Frank Coker 31 carries 144 yards 2 TD (2 rec. 25 yards)
Morris played well 17/23 190 yards 1 TD and his favourite target was WR Samuel with 10 rec for 75 yards and 1 TD.
Woooo! Down goes UCLA! Suck it BCS system! Screwed UNLV out of a championship game appearance and they still came out and slapped around UCLA.
#TheScriptIsDead
And the National Champion for 2019 is... :Alabama: :BCS_Trophy:
Yup, #2 :Alabama: beat #1 :Ohio_State: 34-31.
Man I wish the Rebels would have had a shot at the N.C. I really think this team could have done it. If not for the damn loss to :Nebraska: in week one UNLV would have been in the title game.
So here is the top five final BCS standings.
1. :Alabama: 13-1
2. :UNLV: 13-1
3. :Texas: 12-1
4. :Ohio_State: 13-1
5. :Georgia_Tech: 11-3
Here are some confusing ones...
#17 :Virginia_Tech: 8-5
#20 :Penn_State: 9-4
#23 :Eastern_Michigan: 12-2
#24 :Auburn: 8-5
Other than Eastern Michigan, every team from #12 on had at least three losses.
For the viewers... congrats to :Navy: as they finish #18 with a 10-3 record.
