Has anyone played the Telltale Game Of Thrones? Does it spoil story? I haven't watched the show yet, eventually going to binge watch it. I bought the whole set on XB1 for $5 on a sale this week.
I haven't played the games but I know the game involves characters that no one knows but fits into the GoT universe and that they will interact with major characters from the shows. Kinda like Walking Dead is in the same universe as the show/comics but doesn't directly tie into it.
Has anyone here played the game Project Cars? There appears to be a decent size following on OS and they have even started a racing league. Just wondering if anyone here has played it and if so what their thoughts are about it.
Just beat God of War Accension last night.
Wasn't bad, ending was entirely too easy though. I struggled more on the one part where you had to keep pulling that latch to go up..and fight different enemies at various ppints of it.
And another part where you had to fight various floating and lightening bolt throwing ones. Those two stages pissed me off
Now onto to finish BioShock Infinite
This is awesome!

Would someone besides Nintendo announce a freaking Tennis game. We have 4 billiards games and not a single tennis game. I would take another Virtua Tennis at this point.
Did you ever try this one?
http://www.metacritic.com/game/plays...-slam-tennis-2
I always wanted to try it but have never ran across it to buy it.
Yeah, it was really bare bones in regards to almost everything. Limited amount of courts, only one camera view and easily the most repetitive commentary in a sports game, ever. Played pretty fast and felt like a cross between VT and Top Spin. The graphics were pretty good and they had one really neat feature that let you play on 3 different courts in each of the Grand Slams (center court and a couple outer courts). The career mode was completely broken. It was just way to easy the first two years, you would have to go out of your way not to win every tournament and then it becomes hard as nails.
My hope was for a new Top Spin game. :(
Sounds like a April Fools joke but is all too real.

The quest will be exclusive to Red Bull via an access code under the tab of promotional cans that can be entered on the site and requires The Taken King to be able to play. Drinkers will also get a one time consumable Bonus XP buff that will increase XP gain by 50% for 30 minutes and each marked can of caffeine will include a code. The XP boost will be available from the 1st of July, while the quest will be launching with the Taken King on September the 15th.

Kudos to Techland for mocking Activision/Bungie.

Techland going hard school on Bungie and their give us $20 over and above the $40 DLC price, pseudo attempt at an apology.

I don't own Dying Light, but damn, I'm tempted it buy it now! :D
It does take some getting used to, R1 to jump annoyed the crap out of me at first but became second nature a few hours in. The grappling hook was my other complaint. So much fun to use but it took away a big chunk of the difficulty in the second half of the game, especially at night. Also that ending was shit on so many levels.
Call me late to the party, but I bought Minecraft for my son's Birthday. We bought it on Xbox One. At first glance I was not impressed at all, the graphics looked like Atari or Nes.
Once he got stumped we looked online for some beginner tutorials he really started enjoying it.
He goes to bed and I downloaded the "natural texture" it makes thing look less blocky. I sat there and played this game for 2 hours straight. My wife was sitting on the coach reading and started chiming in with, "hey you should try this, or this..." it's a very addictive game.
Yeah, my daughter has been obsessed with Minecraft for about 2 years. She has books, shirts, she watches the YouTubers, she plays online with her friends - it is ridiculous. I've played a little (albeit not in a long time) just to mess around and help her build stuff.
It starts as a game, then a few people like to ramp it up to the next level. Always amazed at what people do with the game and this is just the latest.

I've never played Minecraft. What is it's point? Is it just another form of Legos?
I stand corrected. GIG 'EM! AGGIES!!!

My kids have Legos, they are fun, but I didn't realize Minecraft has things (zombies, skeletons, etc..) that can kill you when the sun goes down. Putting the time crunch on there, that you have to get things built before the sun goes down and managing your time makes for an interesting dynamic.
Oh wait! This came from my o fing u buddy, here I found a good one for you.

I don't get the allure of minecraft myself but my kids were obsessed with it for a long time. Not quite as much anymore.
Survival mode in Minecraft is pretty cool for kids. Harvesting crops, finding resources, using a crafting table to create new items, building housing, domesticating animals, trading with villagers, adapting to the environment... 30 minutes becomes three hours very quickly.
kids? I guess I'm one of those "grown-up kids" I think it's a pretty cool game.
The other really cool thing is, when I come home from working my 7 year old tells me all about what he's been doing on the game, it's kinda cool to be able to talk about something they are into and really actually know what it's about. Normally when he's talking about other kid stuff, it's different.
Bought my daughter a shirt with this on it last year.

The amount of $ I've spent on books, plush toys, key chains, shirts, etc. for Minecraft stuff is kind of ridiculous. But, she's a good kid and a good student and she could be interested in FAR worse things so I happily do it.
That doesn't even include the fact that I've bought the game 3 times (PS3 and PS4 versions at my house, PS3 version at her mother's house). Speaking of which, now that it is Summer, I need to make some time to play it on the PS3 with her when she is at her mother's house. It really is cool because she WANTS me to play Minecraft with her group of friends. When I was her age (almost 14) I didn't want to be associated with my parents at all and definitely wouldn't want them around my friends, lol.
Very cool!
I have it on Xbox One, I was thinking of getting it for PS3, when I read reviews it seems like the major difference is the Xbox One and PS4 can have larger worlds due to more HD space, etc...
Is that the only difference? Is the PS3 version just as good otherwise?
The other thing I need to learn how to do, if it's possible is play a 2 player game so my son and I can work together either at the same time or he can play in the day when I'm at work and I can play at night when he's in bed on the same world so we can work as a team. Plus it would be cool if we could play together when I get home and build things together.
I'm still new to it so I don't even know if what I'm saying is a possibility on the game. I know you can play online, but what about a 2 person cooperative build?
Edit: speaking of all the extra stuff, we were at Gamestop and Luke, my 7 year old came up to me with a foam pixel sword, he was all excited, "LOOK DAD it's the sword from Minecraft!"
I thought that was cool, we didn't get it, as new water heaters come with foam insulation sticks in the packaging, so I take them home to my kids for foam sword battles.
The worlds on PS3 are smaller, yes. I'm not sure if that is the only difference. I know some things (ie witches) have been added to the PS4 version since she has had it but I'm not sure if those things were added on PS3 as well.
Also, yes, you can play with a split screen so you and your boy should be able to play simultaneously.
That's cool about your daughter wanting to play with you still.
And you can play 4 player split screen too. Pretty sure as sometimes both my nephews have come over with their controllers and play with my kids.
Wonder what Nintendo has up their sleeve with this next-gen Nintendo NX system...
If they ignore the hardcore again they are finished. They need to try and compete for the hardcore as their first party repeats are no longer system sellers for the casual audience who have left Nintendo.
What does Nintendo need a more powerful machine for? The graphics for Mario and company are ps3 quality. Unless they change their cartoon approach has I don't even see a reason for a new machine. They released a machine after 6 or 7 years after last Gen released that was inferior in some respects. Still can't believe madden 13 was significantly uglier on a new wii u compared to the old ps3.
I will never buy another one of their consoles. My kids are already tired of their games and prefer more advanced ones. They still play their 3ds here and there but I can't see us buying a handled again either.
