Don't hold your breath. More expensive RAM, more expensive GPU, etc... Granted, it's minus the Kinect, but if the One is $499, I don't see any lower than $449 for PS4.

Never been a fan of mech style games but this one at least looks interesting...
HOLY SHIT at Titanfall.
Personally, I was impressed by the show.
Titanfall just became my most anticipated game. Dead Rising 3 looked really good. So did Ryse. Halo at 60 FPS and on dedicated servers makes me salivate. I was expecting anywhere between $400 and $500 so that's no problem with me.
Definitely getting one of these bad boys on launch day.
Eh, I just don't see a next gen console going that low. I thought $399 was on the absolute low end, and if the weaker console is $100 above that, I just don't see Sony pricing it at $399. I guess we'll find out tonight.
I don't think it matters anyway. Sony fans aren't switching. Microsoft fans aren't switching. The people in the middle will go after the one with the games they want. I'd also bet Microsoft launches a $299 with contract "deal" to make people think it's cheaper.
The Sony "dream" conference:
- Come out and just show a TON of Sony exclusive games (GOW 4; UC4; New Titles; etc...)
- No DRM whatsoever
- PSN still free
- PS+ same price - Gaikai included in + with ability to play old PS1/2/3 titles will be free once they are in the cloud
- Price $399.99
- Release October 2013
When the first next gen NCAA game hits I will make my decision on which console to get. Very little to get excited about, outside of Dead Rising 3. I hate anything Sci-Fi and that shit was all over the place. Sci-Fi and Zombies. Someone give me a next gen Red Dead Redemption.
$500 is not bad guys stop acting like it is high price tag. Gaming is a drug and you will buy xbox 1 or at least I will ha. Time to start saving now.
Example if you put away 50$ now until November you will your xbox 1! But again each their on choices for next generation console. Me its xbox 1! What big games were shown so far today guys ? I was out fishing during the event.
Why do you keep posting that? :D
While I guess it's within the realm of possibility that Sony does implement something like Microsoft's 24 hour check, they have absolutely zero control over that. They've already stated it's up to the publisher, which means it has nothing to do with Sony. It'll be on an individual basis and until publishers reveal their intentions as to whether or not they're going to incorporate something like that, we wont know.
...and really, unless Sony is going to REQUIRE the disc to be installed before being played, there's absolutely no need for a 24 hour check.
I think people are going to be REALLY disappointed when they figure out that while Sony probably isn't doing anything, the publishers will.
Preordered on Amazon! All set. If Sony impresses me, this is going to be an expensive ass holiday. :D
First, unlike you I think Sony has been vague enough about the plans that they MIGHT try to "change" their stance on the issue and really take advantage of MS. Other than that Kotaku article most of the journalists seem to think Sony hasn't said one way or the other. I followed it fairly closely and didn't see that. I did recall them saying a game like an MMO would obviously have to be online b/c its an online game.
Second Sony has 100% control over whether a publisher has DRM or not. They could simply forbid any publisher for doing it in order to publish on their platform. Take your ball and go home. Would EA (publishers) do it? They might think about it until they saw the demand I think it would create when PS4 crushes XB1 in sales due to the no DRM policy of Sony.
I've admitted your probably right and PS4 will have something similar to XB1 thus the "dream" conference. IMHO its the best for the consumer (me) and the best for Sony b/c no DRM would only help it sell more consoles to its consumers over its rival MS taking market share away from them.
Also the XB1 games are listed @ $60 now not $99

Hell yes XB1 here I come! 50$ a month until Dec boom got my xb1 all ready ha. If I had a job I would so be on this. Military needs to happen soon !
GameTrailers TV shows new trailer for Zoo Tycoon (360, XB1) and first gameplay of Thief (PS3).
They have said. I posted it at least 4 times:
Right there says all you need to know. Sony doesn't require a game to be registered, but publishers can choose to do so.Quote:
UPDATE: More relief... At a roundtable this morning, Sony's game studios chief, Shuhei Yoshida, told reporters that any requirement for users to register a game online in order to play it would be left to game publishers. Sony won't require that.
I wouldn't be "right." I don't think Sony is going to do anything. I think they're going to keep their system open and allow publishers to implement their own forms of DRM.
Honestly, I think you're putting too much of an emphasis on the DRM as a selling tool. Diablo 3 sold enough copies for the publisher to shower in $100 bills and they had the most notorious DRM of this generation. To you, me, and the 10,000 people on the internet who actually read this stuff, it's potentially a problem. To the average Joe, they truly don't care. Feel free to quote me on this: regardless of the price or the DRM, the PS4 and the Xbox One will sell virtually the same throughout the generation.
I don't have a loyalty. I go where the games are. Microsoft has a fantastic exclusives library, so that's a day one for me. If Sony does the same, then they'll get the same treatment.
Anyone notice this on the Amazon order page?
If they're going to start doing crap like this, there goes my already bad completion percentage. :DQuote:
Xbox One - Day One Console includes a limited edition controller, token code to unlock Day One achievement, premium packaging, and decale.
:D :D :D :D
Cheap Ass Gamer posted that pre-orders are up on Amazon. One of the first Facebook comments, "what is this? Rich Ass Gamer?"
Eh, I forked over $600 for that damn PS3 when it launched, so I have no problem with it's price tag, even though I'm sure a lot of people will. $500 is my limit, though. I don't think there's anyway Sony goes over that, so if they have the games, I'm going to get both. If they show God of War/Uncharted/SOCOM, I'll probably instantly buckle.
Damn. I didn't get to watch the presser, but from reading this thread, fuck, MS has me tempted. I have never bought a console day one, but I'm giving some consideration to it for Xbox One. I placed a pre-order just to have it in place, but I'll have to think about it and decide over the next couple months if I want to actually get it day one or wait until sometime in 2014 or 2015, most likely 2014 because of Halo 5.
I bought a laptop and desktop last fall, so I'm just going to stick with PS4 at launch.
JB your just jealous of the guy because he pre ordered his xbox one already .
JB but what about all them achievements you could be doing another year will hold you over ?
My gaming spending has decreased dramatically so I'm probably jumping into the next-gen in year 3 or 4 or whenever they stop making current-gen NCAA or Mass Effect 4 is released.
