Wow Rudy! That's a lot of interesting information. Salaries and contracts in Madden are definitely out of whack as compared to the real NFL. Let's hope there was serious tuning in Madden 25 to make singing far more challenging.

I tweeted that info at Josh Looman and he simply stated the salaries are set based on everyone's salary at the beginning of the year. It was a generic comment that I didn't really know what to think about. I could see the problem if they were including the rookie contracts in their analysis. Their is a HUGE difference between a rookie contract and the second contract you get when you can shop yourself to the highest bidder on an open market. The salaries for those mid tier players in Madden are far too low without question and yet I don't know if EA wants to change that and make cap management more difficult. I hope it's tougher this year.
Rudy, I agree with jaymo that was an in-depth look at salaries and OVR rating. I always appreciate it when someone takes the time to do thorough research for the community. I think free agent salaries have always been too low on Madden so I expect much of the same with Madden 25. The dumbing down so the casuals don't feel overwhelmed approach by EA Tiburon is to blame I feel. If the game was made for the hardcore sim style player with options thrown in to make it easier on casuals or people with limited time then I would think many things like free agency salaries would be fixed. 32 team control will help in Madden 25, but it isn't the cure all.
I'm still shaking my head that you cannot change playbooks in practice... why??? These are the little things about Madden that drive me insane!
I hope EA adds NCAA's no-huddle offense. Madden's audible system and formation subs are really behind NCAA's.
I don't think much was fixed at all Jaymo. I don't have a great feeling right now because it seems Madden put a ton of resources into Owner mode and that's something I don't care about. I know others love it but it's disheartening to see a lot of things you want personally ignored for something you don't care about.
Shopmaster has a Q & A on CFM on his site: mymaddenpad.com/madden-nfl-25-connected-franchise-faqs/
He answered my questions on some of this stuff - no formation subs menu, not sure about new sliders (I'm guessing no change then), and you can't change your default playbook after you start franchise (have to change playbook at the game start screen like last year). No assisted tackles, just solo ones. Trade logic is better at the draft and with the regression system you won't be able to scam the cpu in trades. No training camp or holdouts.
Shopmaster posted a blog on the read-option in Madden as well. Same as NCAA. http://mymaddenpad.com/2013/05/24/ru...madden-nfl-25/
I really want to see the eagles playbook
I feel that way every version.
Gameplay additions, corrections, fixes, etc...are most important to me.
CCM, Owners mode, selling jersey's, changing attributes, editing players, etc I could care less about...but yet they are always a priority it seems I guess to draw people in or the ones that complain.
The ability to see what personnel is on the field instead of the formation listing is important to me.
Refined physics, O-line/D-line interaction, an actual pass rush, enhanced playbooks (Off + Def), run blocking...
Things that actually effect the game once I'm in the game...no matter the mode I am in.
All this other stuff was really cool back when I wasn't playing online and played the CPU.
Now I only will start a Franchise if I'm bored and just to mess around and don't have a league game or any of my friends to play, never taking it serious and never getting more than 3 games into it.
I think physics will be the easiest to improve. Line play will be easier to fix with a new engine so they can break out of the stuff they are using and are tied to. But cpu AI will still be crap. There is no excuse it couldn't be better right now imo. I see no reason to believe it will be better. I expect it to get worse possibly on their first game.
Presentation podcast with details on OS: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...n-details.html
No injured reserve this year? What the heck? The zoom camera got tweaked but nothing else. I guess that means no player lock for Madden fans. Better replays! (although they couldn't have been worse after last year's singular crappy triple-spline option). More facial scans and specific stadium stuff. Facial scans is nice but I hope they bring back some of the signature animations that seemed to disappear. It's the on the field stuff that needs more personality. There will be a sideline reporter.
I can't believe I'm saying this after being let down the past few years, but I am getting "hyped" by what I am reading thus far. Sure there are a few things I do not like(no injured reserve) but there is plenty about Madden 25 that I am liking (import draft class, owner mode, and now new banners/tickers during games).
Madden 25 have to offer up a lot of things just to get me to even take a second look. And so far, it has done just that.
I just hope they actually correct the pass rush and pass defense. The past 2 years were so close to being good but when every game comes down to who has the ball last because it's near impossible to play defense, it's not too much fun.
The pass coverage slider was completely broken last year. I know you mainly play online so it's not a big deal to you but it was bad offline. Especially since DBs telegraphed their coverages pre-snap and played super stupid on 3rd downs.
IR is still in the game I guess. Just some miscommunication on a podcast.
I noticed today that Virtual Sports (a website I have never heard of until today...) was linked to OS. A few interesting details came out.
1. There will be an as yet unnamed sideline reporter
2. Adam Schefter will be commenting during the draft (if you don't import classes!!!)
3. When the draft is running, Trey Wingo is the host and Adam talks about the outlook and expectations of the player
I agree. I am really perplexed because I love importing players and watching their careers but frankly the BEST aspect of Madden 13 was the draft and I don't want to lose the immersion. I may make two dynasties (one play and one sim) just to get the best of both worlds.
The draft was a lot of fun last year. I think they removed draft report cards last year though. Weren't they in 12? Why not have a guy like Mort hand out draft grades to all teams along with a great and bad pick.
I traded Madden in almost 2 months ago. Future Shop had one of those trade 2 get $60 credit deals and I pulled the trigger then figuring I would be playing a lot of video baseball but I haven't. That's OK though. I was at the point where I had to house rule myself from hot routes just to get a challenge out of the cpu. The sliders were horribly broken and the game way too easy. I really hope the sliders, game difficulty and cpu intelligence got a major boost this year. Unfortunately the game changers for Madden don't care much about sliders and couldn't even say if they added user and cpu special teams sliders.
Insight on the new "engine" that powers the updated franchise mode starting in M13 last year: http://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/n...cted-franchise. It's called "FranTK".
I am getting SO tired of EA naming every little thing they do so they can market it. "FranTK"? My gosh. Do they name their trips to the bathroom too? "DumpTK"?
I missed this little bit of info from mymaddenpad.
I wasn't really sure how this was determined until I read this.Quote:
Are there any changes planned to hot/cold streaks?
The system is pretty simple…if you don’t meet any goals for the week you remain on the cold streak. If you make 2 of 3 the following week, you are on a hot streak and if you just make 1 you stay neutral.
I cannot wait until E3 to see some gameplay videos.
every one will be disappointed in Madden I'm sure.People will have something to complain about it won't be perfect.
With how poorly football started out on next gen nobody has that high of expectations anymore. I don't think anyone with half a brain will expect a perfect Madden 25. People do expect to see improvement in some critical areas. Whether they can deliver that in the area of cpu AI is my big concern.
Madden looks significantly better than NCAA IMO on the PS3. Been pretty obvious the last few years.

Nothing earth shattering other than more and better things.

This is the new sideline reporter. Danielle Bellini
Well they obviously saved a few bucks picking up someone that nobody has heard of.
I did find this.

That chick is cute. I don't care if they saved a few bucks as the sideline reporter is not very important to me.
That E3 clip did show some nice OL/DL interactions. I still feel all of that should be possible on current gen, especially since 2K4 had good line play on my PS2.
They wont let us record current gen either. More on that later in the show.

That sucks if true although reading impressions is still good. I had read that people would have some ability to record current gen stuff. We'll find out tonight.
