So you had the game freeze, DBs didn't step up and you can't advance past week 15?
I have played it, the message they put out says it's fixed and I didn't run into these yet so how am I lying?

Thanks. There's a couple of problems as I see it... first, the R&S is an offense that is best explained face to face. I've been able to help some people understand it better through posting... but I also can't see their eyes and if they are truly getting it or not. It's not a simple offense. And sending them a packet... for this offense, that would be an extensive package, and after reading Oneback's posts... I would really hate to go to all that work if it just ended up in a dumpster in back of EA studios.
The other problem is... and I realize we're just speculating here... but if they are that insecure in their job, then EA games are never going to be true to real life. Put it this way... if EA or some other company hired me to implement offenses in a computer football game, my comfort level would be like this:
R&S - 100%
Air Raid - 100%
WCO - 95%
Spread - 95%
Option - 5%
So when I got started at my new job, I would immediately seek out someone who knows the Option offense and do everything I could to have them explain, in the smallest details, every intricate aspect of that offense. Because, at some point, pride has to factor into all of this. Do we want to put out a game that claims to have the R&S offense when it really only has 3 true R&S plays and all the others have been in the game for years, or do we want to do what's best for the game?
If it were me, I would want what is best for the game. And if my boss walks over to me and says, 'Hey, people are LOVING the Option offense this year. Way to go!' I would say, 'You know, I don't know fuck-all about that offense. But I found someone who does and I spent time w/ him learning every aspect of the offense. So the credit, really, should go to him.'
I just can't understand people that are so insecure that they wouldn't do this. Would they rather tell their boss that someone helped them out or have the mess they currently have on their hands? The answer seems pretty simple to me.
Thanks for your response though. It's something to consider.
:fp:I give up...this game is broken beyond belief...I don't know how you guys keep up the naive belief that EA can fix this shit after years and years of them proving again and again that they cannot....good luck with that. Lookin forward to NBA 2K12:D
i think because the game was very playable for alot of peole and now the patch has caused issues in no-huddle...i think they can fix that, maybe quickly.... if not im sure people will just move on and play something else unfotunately
in any case EA has shown they do listen to the forums and try to fix stuff... obviously they've done a shitty job this time...but since i have no other NCAA game to play i can hope they will fix it
As far as I'm concerned there is no patch; as a person who rolls primarily with my beloved Coogs the inability to run an up tempo no-huddle attack renders the game unplayable. Guess I'll just have to deal with the freezes. :(
There is only on true judge of a video game. YOU. I have no clue why you care to see a review here? It is just one persons opinion. There is a ton of information leading up to a games release, why on earth do you need some review that would end up coming out days after release. When in doubt just rent the game. Maybe I am just old and grumpy but there was a time when all you got was a Gamepro Magazine, a blurb and a couple screenshots to help make your decision. Games back then were as high if not higher then they are right now (then add inflation) and you might just see what a bargain these games are compared to the glory days.
I knew sleeping in was a good idea. The absurdity of some of the posters (insulting Ben and mocking his weight and that Game Changers are somehow part of the problem) just makes me. :fp:
That makes no sense. Of course the ultimate judge if a game is myself but we come to forums to discuss opinions and ideas. Isn't that the point of the forums? And when community day guys have the game well in advance it's nice to get advanced impressions. As far reviews, I don't expect them right away but at some point they are interesting to read.
I do get sick of the backlash against criticism on this site when people day we should grateful for how games have advanced in the last 20 years. If you truly only cared about your opinion then jet ignore mine.
Or ignore mine, see it works both ways. Last I checked the Game Changers here have lives and such. Getting the game early is a nice perk but i do not expect them to go crazy with updates and info. We get plenty of it as it is. I understand there are the types of people who can only enjoy a game if the consensus also enjoy it. Those who spend more time on the forums reading about the game then actually playing it. Same goes for people who live to work on sliders trying to create the perfect sim. The reality is the majority of people who buy NCAA 12 just open it up and play it. Hey there is a patch, download, go back to playing.
It is a video game, a hobby, something that should bring you joy after a long day of work and such.
Sure we use this forum to discuss issues with the game, etc but there is a limit to what all the forum complaining is going to do.
Allow me to save you some time when next year rolls around.
NCAA 13 will be released.
it will have bugs.
it will get patched and things will still be broken.
Love this thread.
One guy going off about he repeatedly emails EA offering to come down to the studios with his notebooks, and wondering why EA has never accepted such a creepy overture.
One guy who's spent too much time in Dr. Who's time-traveling telephone booth...says the game's been out a few weeks, when it's been out TWO MONTHS.
One guy who says the patch fixed everything. Other guy says the patch fixed nothing.
One guy taking a big sphincter-stretching shit on the community day guys, then spends 10,000 words in follow up posts arguing and debating about what he said and what he meant in his original post.
One guy using the patch issue as a reason to complain about a celebration aspect touted in NCAA 11, not NCAA 12.
Yup, another fine NCAA thread! LOL
I think we need a group hug.

For what it's worth, I posted this "elsewhere"
This patch must be a big deal. I'm reading here and other places...it's wild...in a single day 24 hour period I've never seen so many people getting warnings, bans, etc...here and other sites.
I guess when it comes down to it, this patch has people really worked up.
Maybe it's time to take a break. It is after-all just a video game. Remember when we were kids and went outside to throw a football with friends? I never see that anymore, when my wife and I go outside for walks, we see people our age (30s) and much older, but you NEVER see kids outside. I'm 34 and I have a basketball goal on my driveway, I play outside a lot and ride my bike, maybe I'm weird but video games aren't life. They are a nice hobby but to take them to the extent of bashing people, posting their personnel/public information...that seems a bit much.
Thanks for your time.
I didn't say anything about hugging in the shower. :D :D

I'll be the mature one here... first of all, the e-mails were not of a creepy overture. Secondly, they aren't notebooks, they're actual playbooks from Mouse Davis/June Jones and thirdly if you enjoy being told a certain offense is in the game and then you get the game and see it's actually represented by about 1% and you're fine w/ that... then good for you. I was taking an active role to try and get what they promoted actually, you know, in the game.
Plenty of people know my knowledge of the R&S and I have also extended my offers to some of those here who have been part of the group that went down there. Personally, I find it frustrating when we're told... Hey, we have the Run & Shoot offense in this year! Only to find out that's as false of a statement as ever has been uttered in the history of marketing.
So if you're happy w/ the game as it is, then enjoy it. If people trying to elicit change for the better for this series is something that you find funny then that tells me all I need to know about you.
Weirdest thing with my cpb. Pre patch I had a working cpb, no missing plays, no unwanted formations with one play, etc. I used Georgia Tech as based and completely changed it to a multiple offense, only flexbone that was left was the default goaline. After reading all this I was expecting to find a complete mess, but its not bad. A few oddities:Quote:
Just FYI... at this point I would highly, highly recommend not converting old playbooks and instead just create new playbooks.
VERY peculiar issue occurred when I was going through my old playbooks one after the other... I can almost guarantee that it was somehow merging the first two. Then, the third one I looked at was a defensive playbook and it said I had 399 plays selected and 34 formations (there aren't 34 defensive formations available) when it only showed 12 selected formations, and at least two of the original ones I had selected were missing.
Again, I can't stress enough, don't convert an old custom playbook... it will only create additional possible headache for you.
It seems like I have all my formations and plays, this includes I tight. I can use it in practice mode even tho its not shown on the cpb interface.
There are 4 flexbone formations with one play each and another with 5 plays that I can't get rid of at the cpb interface.
My questions is, is it safe to play with it? I would hate to take it into an od game and have it glitch on me. I find it so weird that pre patch my playbook was maxed out in terms of plays and now it seems like I have everything plus those extra formations/plays...
Think about it another way: You're offering to help them with something that they know they're supposed to know. I'm not saying that EA would have a problem with that -- I don't personally believe they do -- but I have seen people go apeshit when someone outside their group tries to "help", all because they feel like that person is telling them to do their job.
I know your pain, but also keep in mind that every decision at every company, not just EA and not just the game industry, gets evaluated at a level high above the individual gameplay guys or designers. Team leads and managers have a ton of power, relative to Joe Average, but they still can't sign off on everything that sounds like a good idea. If they had unlimited budget and unlimited time, I'm 100% certain that they would love to get someone like you to sit down with their playbooks guys and go through the R&S. But that's tons easier said than done. If you have soft copies of the playbooks, and you think that would help, send them my way, I can get them to the right person. I understand what you mean about it being easier face-to-face though, so I'll leave the "helpful" call up to you.
As for this whole discussion on what Community Day guys can or can't do, Kwizzy's post was spot on.
What is the purpose of Game Changers? What is the benefit to this website to be involved with it? Are you compensated in any way?
Never mind...I see what the problem is on no huddle.
Looks like the sim clock for the OD is working better. The CPU opened the 2nd half with a 3:20 drive.
I don't remember ever getting the ball in the 2nd half with 4:41 left (in 8 min qtrs).
So, the purpose of Game Changers program is to improve the EA Sports experience and continued growth of the EA Sports community, correct?
The benefit to this website is having a close connection with the people at EA Sports, early access to EA Sports games, and the ability to pass on feedback and give recommendations to product design, development, and support, is that correct also?
What kind of compensation did the targeted members receive? Free air travel? Food? Hotel commendations? Pay? Free game?
DUDE move on, he can't fix them.
NEWS FLASH a patch came out, there are issues, unless I missed a post somewhere stating all these guys work for EA and can actually go in and change the gaming code (WHICH I HOPE I DIDN'T MISS THAT POST OR HERE WE GO AGAIN) all they can do is post their thoughts and opinions. You on the other hand just want to keep arguing he said she said stuff.
The game is a "work in progress" move on.

EA needs to fuck up more often this site is never this busy on a friday night. This is some amusing shit, great break from studying.
Where's that damn popcorn again.
On a more serious note, I do find it entertaining how people post here then go over "there" complaining about over here, but over here they are complaining about over "there". Get it? I went over "there" just to see what there just to see what was being said about over "here" and it truly is interesting what you find out. Who knew there was so much back drama.
Okay guys (and gals if their are any) continue on......
One distinction that needs to be made is between the Game Changers program (of which cdj, gschwendt, JB and others are a part) and the Community Day events that were held for NCAA 12. You do not need to be a Game Changer in order to be a Community Day participant, and not all Game Changers are afforded the opportunity to participate in Community Day events. The goals, benefits, and expectations of each program are also slightly different.
Here's the list of people who were at the Community Day events this year: http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/for...ity-Day-Events
I don't know the current list of Game Changers.
http://www.ea.com/ncaa-football/blog...ity-day-events
The text in italics above was added to the quote by me.Quote:
Here’s the entire list of attendees:
Chris Jacobs (CDJ) -- Game Changer, TGT
Jake Stein (JStein2469) -- Former Game Changer, Now on Madden NFL Development Team
Jeremy Bennett (JBHuskers) -- Game Changer, TGT
Damon Peterson (MPDamon) -- Game Changer, The Sports Game Guys
Jeff Setzer (Rynoaid) -- Game Changer, Tradition Sports Online
Tommy Gschwend (gschwendt) -- Game Changer, TGT
Anton Bland (AntonB) -- Game Changer
Jeff Holycross (JeffHCross) -- Community Member
Matt Kyler (kwizzy) -- Community Member, Became Game Changer Post-Events
Matt Lee (steelerfan) -- Community Member
Mike Gillett (Oneback) -- Community Member
Brian Parker (Paakaa10) -- Game Changer
Raymond Goode (Shopmaster) -- Game Changer, MyMaddenPad.com
David Johnson (MadScientist) -- Game Changer, MaddenMatrix.com
Dougie Veney (WhoIsDo) -- Game Changer, StickSkills.com
Kevin Vaughn (xROMO_9xwinz) -- Game Changer, ThruTheUprights.com
That is the purpose, correct.
A number of the members of the Game Changers programs own and maintain their own community websites. Obviously the intention of people in the program having these websites and forums is to help them collect information and feedback about the games with the hopes that passing that information along can result in improvements to the products.Quote:

Since many of the community event attendees were required to take time off from their employment--sometimes without having vacation time or paid time off to use to offset the time away--expenses were compensated. All community event attendees--not just those in the Game Changers program--also received a free copy of the game prior to retail release.Quote:

A Game Changer so badass he don't need no stinking affiliation to some website. He doesn't change the game the game changes for him. http://www.hawaiitalks.net/images/sm...uck_norris.gif
