Neither. It's Battlefield Bad Company 2.5 and looks no better than Battlefield 2. I certainly won't be wasting my money of this piece of shit game.
I enjoyed it but I've never played 1 or 2 so that may be why.
Lol I do or did certainly have a small issue with dying way way to often. :D:D
I may just shoot Eric to make myself feel better at times :D
Agree 100%.
I tried so hard to like it. I truly did, but there comes a time whenever you just have to tell yourself it's a shit game and there's zero value in it for you. EA would have been smart to not even release the beta. Whether it's truly much improved in the final retail game remains to be seen, but I don't even care. There are SO MANY issues with this game. The health is incredibly low(supposedly fixed, but I tend to not believe it), the hit detection is STILL messed up, and the unable to run, aim, get under the world glitches just drive me nuts.
IF everyone says that they actually fixed everything, I'll get it later. Hell, if IGN says it's actually improved and has higher health, I'll buy it release day. If not, not a chance. This game, or at least the beta, does one thing that I absolutely can not fucking stand, and that is promotes camping. When you have these vast maps with extremely low health, LOL, good fucking luck crossing the map against a good team.
Yeah. It really got old when I'd be trying to get from where I spawned to where the rest of my team was and I'd see one or two hit markers show up on me screen and before I could even react or do anything, I was was falling over dead and waiting to respawn. Pretty much the last week of the beta, I never bothered going back into and playing it again.
Well, everyone FPS promotes camping, BF is just the worst about it.
Also, there's no chance in hell I'm going to ever buy this game, good IGN review or not. Now that I have a PC worth a fuck again, I refuse to play FPSs on a console and since EA is hellbent on FORCING me to use their shitty proprietary download software to even have a chance of playing the fuckin' game on PC (even out of the box) they can shove their game up their money hungry asses. I will NEVER support a game or game company that forces me to download a proprietary way to play their fuckin' game.
I put in my pre-order on this since a lot of my buddies are picking it up as well, we all started playing BF1942 together. I'll probably also be picking up MW3 as well.
I think alot of it has to do with Rush mode and the camping now I am by no means saying that people will not camp the shit out of the game, but rush mode on that map was a terrible decision.
I don't really see the Bad company 2.5 comparisons, I don't think you guys played bad company enough, its not even close to bad company. Even if it is, is that bad? (not talking to IOU, mostly because he has a problem with every shooter that is ever released)
I didn't say it was 2.5. I said I don't feel like playing a game where any noob can get a kill. I'd much rather have BC 2.5 as opposed to what I saw in the beta.
To me it's more realistic in the sense that if you want to move around & not get shot, you'd better take your time and IDEALLY move in groups for mutal support. I LOVE that it's harder to just run around as you please because a couple of shots will kill you, as they would in real life. Not saying there aren't some things that could be improved but personally, I enjoyed the game quite a bit.
That's well and good, on a map that's not ginormous. If I have to spend half of the game moving slowly to get into position, only to get camped to death by some lame ass team that just sits in the two or three spots that create a crossfire that is impossible to move past, what the hell is the point of playing the game?
To each their own. I think it's boring as hell and would rather play Hannah Montana. When you have these gigantic maps where you can see as far as can be and it only takes 2 or 3 bursts to kill someone from long range, it's going to create a huge imbalance when it comes to moving. People are going to do exactly what people did in the beta - hide in an area and wait for someone to appear on their screen for an easy kill.
As I said before, if people start saying the health is higher than it was in the beta, I'll give it a try. If not, I'm not wasting my money on it.
All I care about is the co-op campaign, and hoping we can use psusnoop as a meat shield when he gets shot down.
Lol, meat shield :D:D
Since you guys are not 360 guys...that is an actual term in Gears of War :D
I went ahead and preordered this earlier today. Every review I've read this week is just glowing about how much better the final version plays over the beta. Kind of begs the question, why the fuck would EA release such shit when they have a game that is a lot better? It wouldn't surprise me a bit to hear that they lost a good many sales over the lacking quality of the beta.
The thing that won me over is that every single article I've read(Destructoid, IGN, and Joystiq) all raved about how the health was much higher and there was actual gun battles as opposed to the one or two hit BS in the beta. Considering that was my main beef for not wanting to get the game, hearing that it's fixed from multiple sources is more than enough to get me to pull the trigger and I'm definitely glad. I was really excited about BF3 until I played the beta and saw the low health.
Nope. Not happening.
I'm pirating this game for the singleplayer, and that's all.
There is a reason why they call it beta Beatn :D unfortunately most of America doesn't understand the concept of beta.
I think he prescribed to the rational that it was a beta so close to retail that it would be really close to the same, i kinda felt that way myself, though I didnt have a problem with the bullet damage as much as I did basically encouraging people to camp, not to mention it was a "rush" mode game type "yuck".
The beta did tamper some of my excitement but I have been a loyal battlefield player for some time now so I expect shit that from them, they release stuff and fix it later...oh wait that sounds like something else EA does on another one of their products.
But the purpose of a beta is to take what you have, then take the feedback on it to set it up for retail. MP stuff is tuned server side, so what you see in the beta is not going to be a representation of retail hardly ever.
No, beta is to test. When they've solved the problems beforehand and release a beta anyway, especially as shitty as the one EA decided to release, they're borderline retarded. It was a marketing ploy and they're just lucky it didn't end up biting them in the ass. 99% of the time, betas are going to be REALLY close to the final game, which apparently isn't the case here.
They've stated numerous times that all the issues in the beta had already been fixed, so why even release a beta if they know everything is working the way it should? I don't really care. As long as they raised the health(which they did) and I don't have to play that shit of a game mode, Rush, I'll get my enjoyment out of it.
I think debating the concept of term in the case is irrelevant they released it too close to retail and like most of us who are on the internet too damn much we know that "hey the game comes out in 3 weeks" call it what but we can't really expect too many big changes. They also didn't state any of the "changes" until the beta was out already, they actually didn't even list the higher health in their "fixes" that just happened to be mentioned by game sites.
I don't think betas are necessarily close to the final game, I have been in some that were so far away from retail that they had time to implement big changes.
They knew. I posted on their forums during the early access beta(before most people even had it) about the extremely low health when running, the inability to sometimes run, the inability to sometimes aim down sights, the ability to get under the map, and about the hit detection when aiming around the head.
I got a reply not even an hour later that said something along the lines of "most of these issues have already been fixed." They knew. They chose to release an old(and incredibly buggy build) to draw some more attention in hopes of getting more sales. As I said, I don't really care, but it does baffle me a bit.
According to CAG, BF3 is getting a $20 credit on Amazon at some point today. Whether that's true or not, I guess we'll see.
That is good news. I've been hoping Amazon would do $20 on this.
