Why would y'all pay $60 for Tiger but only $20 for this?
Actual authentic courses I guess.
Granted you likely can create an "Augusta" with some work and help but it will be tough to create the actual course with this game if it even let's you.
You think about why your paying $60 for EA's version of golf...authentic golfers and courses.
But then with this your paying possibly that same amount to have a custom course creator and no affiliation with the PGA name, brand.
Pros and Cons with both I suppose. I may check it out
I get wanting some of the real courses like the Majors and TPC but all the others could be generic and would anyone really complain? Plus, I assume you guys don't really buy the game to play as Tiger, Mickleson, and all the other pros. Everyone creates their own guy, right or am I wrong?
To me, it seems like a game with limitless courses would be a better value than EA's game.
I use to play solely as Tiger before I started league play with JB with our created guys. Don't play as them now but nice going up against them when I play my career mode.
Also nice playing at the actual courses and a PGA season.
Just not sure I want to buy a $60 course creator. They both will look pretty and I'm sure both their far share of game play issues no doubt once us game connoisseurs break them down.
I'll get it for my bored create a course days because I'm into golf, but these days business decisions have to be made when I get games due to cost lol. And not both for $120+. Can't roll like that anymore like in the past haha
EA's version definitely has a better create your own guy feature, the one on this game is very basic. off the top of my head maybe 5 models, and 10-20 different articles of clothing.
Your guy doesn't get any better, there aren't any stats that I remember seeing everything is based on you, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. I look at the stats for certain courses and you have guys who are really good and there are alot of shitty guys...even I normally hit par or worse, so the challenge aspect is there which adds a level of enjoyment not really felt in the EA version.
I don't even remember seeing a "season" mode. The only competition you have is against the ghost players and your friends (which is a cool feature, because they don't even have to be online), everything is based around those tournaments and in theory it keeps your stats for you.
I don't think I would pay 60.00 for this game in all honesty, it gets kinda boring no matter how many course they have, the commentary is crappy ( even on EA's standards, its just some guy that is your caddy).
Playing with alot of friends might add some value to it, but you have to be a serious golf fan to really enjoy this game, I might play 6-10 holes before I get back off it. The immersion factor is simply not there, I don't think alot of people will feel connected to there player which I think will turn alot of people away from playing, it is a sim in the purest form not a game.
With all this being said they haven't updated the PC version in almost a month because they have been focused on getting the console version done to get pass cert. so I might be missing features that they haven't added yet.
Whatever I pay for it, it will be something new. The creator, format etc, all new. I am so tired of the same courses whether they ship with the game or are extra $$. Big thing for me will be, "does it work"?? If I have another bug riddled unsupported/not fixed glitch fest again................well, hulk smash :D
EA's golf game has more options is the main reason.

Honestly it doesn't look much diff from TW in terms of becoming glorified darts. For me, I'll bite depending on the price but if the accuracy is as easy as TW I'll prob bore with it easily.
There is a power meter in Tiger?
I know there use to be one with putting, but I've always turned that off. Know there was a swing meter as well but the difficult I played on never had it. Same with the aiming marker.
So in that sense it looks the same as I expect them both to on the PS4
Difficulty I'm on with Tiger isn't easy accuracy wise either, especially if you can't zoom in and don't know where your aiming.
Yeah the TrueAim on Tiger turned off zoom and made you go by feel and knowing the course.
That and the swing difficulty
There were definitely ways to make the game more difficult and not as easy as I've heard it is. And you don't need to adjust sliders to do so (I know there aren't)
I thought I was pretty decent at the game but damn feel like I suck now haha
We’re happy to announce that Greg Norman Golf Course Design will officially endorse the course designer feature in The Golf Club! Early in development, we knew that this feature was extremely powerful – and after our early access release we saw that power and creativity on display with the huge array of community created courses. Now, partnered with legendary golfer Greg Norman and his course design company – we will get to see this feature put to use on real-life courses as Greg Norman Golf Course Design utilize the course designer to help their clients visualize their courses before they ever break ground.

That's very cool!
Early on in development we knew we wanted to make cross-platform sharing a reality. We knew that players across different systems would want access to the same great library of courses as everyone else. Making courses available to everyone regardless of their chosen system seemed like the best way for everyone to get the most out of The Golf Club. It's official - #TheGolfClub will share all user-created courses across all platforms! Read about it here http://t.co/uTqjjod9CG

The challenge was always that in the past, restrictions surrounding sharing of content between different sets of users were quite strict, and we knew that we’d require a waiver in order to make it a reality. Well, after much discussion with the relevant parties – we can happily announce that cross-platform sharing will be present in The Golf Club at launch.
Users of any platform can play and download the courses from any other platform!
When you create and publish a course it will immediately be available to all members of The Golf Club regardless of the system you’re playing on. There are no special steps either as the person creating the course or downloading courses. They will simply appear in the list in the exact same way as any other course!
The only difference is that names of the creators of courses not native to your current platform will be displayed as “TGC Member” – this is to conform to a number of privacy and parental control regulations on the various platforms.
More info available at their official site.
That will be very handy considering the PC has a head start.
Good to hear, Trials Fusion has been doing this for select "high rated" user tracks across the PS4/XB1/PC.
While we don't have an official release date yet, we have narrowed it down to a likely two week period.
The Golf Club will likely be released and Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC the week of August 25th! There is a small possibility that the game will be released the week of August 18th, if Microsoft and Sony are able to push it through but, the more likely scenario is the week of the 25th.
Please understand that this is all predicated on the notion that the second submission goes smoothly, but we are confident that the game is in good shape. That being said, there is a possibility that things could change...though we all hope not!

The Golf Club is set to tee off for Xbox One and PC on August 19th for $34.99. The PlayStation 4 version arrives later this month, pending certification approval.
Console Specs
http://www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php?topic=4357.0
The PlayStation 4 will be running at 1080p with framerates of 30-40 fps. The Xbox One will be running at 720p with framerates from 30-45 fps (possibly a bit higher). Both will have the graphical equivalent of the ‘High’ settings seen in Early Access on the PC.
Allow me to address some questions from the get go: The reason the game is 720p on the Xbox One is simple - we couldn't get the framerates we wanted at higher resolutions.
We are very pleased to announce that #TheGolfClub will be available on the PlayStation Store in North America on August 26, 2014 for $34.99!

Happy birthday to me!
Finally! Madden, SS First Light and this on the same day.
VERY VERY COOL! Tuesday is looking to be a great day!
I told my buddy about this game, if all goes well I'm going to try and use the course designer and make my home course, Briarcrest Country Club.
The xbox1 version doesn't fair so well on metacritic http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/the-golf-club
User reviews are horrible. Sounds like they released an unfinished product. I think I'm going to stay away, especially at $35.
Imagine that
I have been on pc with this game and LOVE it! Most of these "reviews" seem to me to be from folks that have not played the game. I am aware of issues at launch with the XB1 but have heard that they are much better now. I look so forward to this bargain tomorrow and hope to play with many of you again
Granted if you are into the PGA Tour experience that is missing. However, it is refreshing to have so many courses and all players are on the same footing.
I didn't know it wouldn't have a career mode, but if it's a good golf sim I'm still interested...just hope the PSN will be up so I can purchase it.
As it currently stands it does not, however this group does not intend to issue the game every year but instead will add and support for the life of the platform...........so instead of paying for courses (again) you bought last year for example you could choose to buy a "career mode" if/when it became available.
As it stands gig it is a very good golf sim, the course editor alone is worth the $$$ if you like that type of thing.
