Possible Xbox One and PlayStation 4 UK Release Dates

Are we still on a wait and see if the converter + Hauppauge 2 or Elgato works on the PS4? Or are we in the wait and see if it works without the converter?
Wait and see if it works without the converter... it should work with the converter regardless.
Why it was only a matter of time before Sony started charging for online
Basically, Plus made them $140 million in 2012, while Microsoft earned $1.25 billion during the same time frame with Xbox Live. They're estimating that once Sony puts online gaming behind their pay wall, they'll be making about the same as Microsoft.
Since NCAA looks to have its days numbered, my jump in point for next gen probably is Mass Effect 4.
I see today that best buy (canada) has now changed the release date for ps4 to nov 30th. It used to have dec 31 as a placeholder. I have been given several emails all saying Nov 30th. I just don't see these consoles releasing in october, like many have suggested. Late november continues to come up. Staggered or not I don't expect to see consoles before then.
Season Ticket does not carry over to PS4/XB1

KNEW this was coming when I re-upped for NCAA 14 so looks like I paid $25 for a weekend rental of NCAA 14 Madden 25 and the stupid NUT packs. :smh:
Since we're going to be finding out release dates in a couple of days (more than likely anyway), any predictions on them?
Personally, I'm going with:
PS4 - October 23
One - November 13
I know you're joking, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft has enough money available to withstand a complete bombing of the Xbox One, release another Xbox, have it bomb as well, give away about $10 billion, and still be A-okay. :D They're not pulling out no matter how good/poorly the One does.
Also, neither one of the fuckers had better pull a Nintendo and release it on a Sunday. If they do, Amazon orders wont arrive until Tuesday. I will be pissed.
GameStop Expects Xbox One, PS4 Launches To Be Biggest Ever
Retailer also expects "a significant increase in launch day quantities versus the last console launch."
Quote:
GameStop is continuing to offer a "first-to-know" list for both consoles that informs customers of when additional systems become available for pre-order. Bartel noted there are 1.5 million people on the list for PlayStation 4, while there are 700,000 on the list for Xbox One. Keep in mind these numbers don't reflect the number of people to have already successfully pre-ordered either system.

Interesting that its 2:1 for US demand + speculated additional pre-orders for PS4 over XB1. If that is true and PS4 is outselling XB1 2:1 in the U.S. it won't be good for MS in Europe/Japan elsewhere.
They're basing it off a "first to know" list, so that's hardly a legitimate thing to go by. Pre-orders don't mean anything, either. The Wii U had great pre-order numbers and look at what it's doing now. Both consoles will be successful in North America and Europe, Microsoft will probably struggle in Japan just like they always have, and the world will continue to go 'round and 'round.
Yes "first to know" is a measure of consumer demand/interest. Moreover, you have even admitted the speculated shortage in supply (compared to PS4 units). We have Amazon's 2013 video game sales for 2013 and PS4 is ahead of XB1 in the U.S. etc...
I think you would have to be really dumb and/or praying for a miracle if you want to bet/proclaim XB1 will outsell PS4 this year.
No, it isn't. It's a list to get an email when information is released. Most people can get that information on various sites. To say there's more interest in the PS4 in their list would be accurate, but to say there's more interest in the PS4 based solely on that list is just retarded. Does everyone shop at GS and only at GS? Does every who wants a console sign up for the list? Unless both of those answers are "yes," it isn't accurate to use that as the end all argument of who has more interest.
Never said which would outsell the other. I also don't care. I don't have stock in either one of them, so as long as both of them do well enough to be around for the following generation, I'll be happy for the both of them. I think it's pretty obvious that the PS4 will outsell the One this year, considering it's got a $100 price advantage and the fact that it's launching in over twice as many countries.
I'm just saying it's stupid to assume that based on a "first to know" list at one retailer.
Case in point, I signed up at the source, Xbox.com, for information on when the Xbox One would be available to pre-order/order, instead of Amazon or Gamestop or wherever else. I know I sure wasn't the only one. So while PS4 may have the edge at Gamestop, that doesn't mean it's the case in the overall picture when you take every other store or website in the US and world offering people the ability to sign up for such lists. Go compile a large enough sample size of lists and tally up the numbers, and then maybe there will be a case to make one way or the other. Numbers from only one, single site? Yeah, too small of a sample size to even try and predict one way or the other.
Clearly. :D
And that's the point, using just one site, one place to base your presumptions on is ridiculous. You'd have to go to a bunch of sites and tally up all the numbers to have a proper sample size before you can start to draw any conclusions. Otherwise, it's just picking the site that fits your agenda. We could simply go find a site that is reporting the opposite of Gamestop, numbers giving Xbox a 2:1 edge in the US, and make the same claims as CLW is making. You can making any claim you want with as tiny as a single source for your sample size. Doesn't mean that it's gonna be correct.
Except MS isn't directly selling ANY units. You have to look at the various retailers to see who is probably in the lead. Again, your either in denial or praying for a comeback if you think XB1 is in the lead. The question is just how big of a lead does PS4 have.
You XB fanboys have ignored the other data in this other threads posted re: (1) PS4 having a larger supply than XB1; (2) Amazon's video game sales for 2013; (3) reports from various retailer employees re: preorders etc...
XB1 can never be in the lead globally. Microsoft pulled 8 launch regions out of 21 because of ''localization issues''. I think that is bogus, for example Switzerland with it's main languages French and German, was pulled from launch, while Germany and France both will be launch regions. It is very much possible they are experiencing difficulties with production of the XB1 and to secure the US market, they pulled the 8 regions to have enough units in their domestic market (thus I'm directly affected). The European launch regions will receive Fifa Soccer 14 and we (the Benelux and other affected non-launch regions) will be compensated by giving all pre-orders that stood before the compensation announcement to get 2 at this point unknown AAA titles at launch for free. The projected launch date for us is somewhere between mid-February and the beginning of April. Microsoft is fighting for the US Market, but is having trouble everywhere else.
Regardless of what the numbers say, it won't matter one damn bit. MS will still sell millions of XBox Ones, life will go on like normal, shit will still be the same as it was yesterday, and in 5, 6, 7, however many years, we'll be talking about the upcoming launch of the Xbox Whatever and the PS5. So there really is no point whatsoever to all of this "who's gonna win, who's gonna sell more, this console is gonna kick that console's ass". If you truly believe otherwise, you're also in denial, or else mentally retarded. It's gonna be same shit, different day.
No one is ignoring anything. You're being delusional as you usually are. No one is arguing that the PS4 is going to outsell the Xbox One out of the gates. We're simply saying you can't just pick one retailer's "more info" list and use that as a source for the entire world.
Besides, as I said before, what's in it for you if the PS4 ends up outselling the Xbox One lifetime? I don't care which one outsells the other, I just hope they're both successful so that there will be a ton of support for the both of them and that they both end up making additional consoles after these launch. I used to think you're just playing around, but with all this sales talk where you seem very serious, I'm beginning to think you're like these pubescent kids I read on the internet beating their chests about which console is better and which one is going to sell more. It's weird.
