If you lived here in NW Ohio, and were a fan of one of the local HS teams, they would have made you proud tonight. Second week of the season, the first week of conference play for them, they abused their opponent 83-6. :smh:

I would have anyway. TCU's offense isn't gonna do shit against a team that actually knows how to play defense.
Plus, part of TCU's problem was, they were playing the run WAY too much. Respecting Griffin WAY too much. Any QB can hit a dude that's wide open on a flair route (especially him as he has a very nice arm). Pretty much every TD throw Griffin made was to a guy who torched his man either over the middle or down the sideline because they bit on watching what Griffin was doing instead of playing their damn assignment.
That's just ridiculous and completely uncalled for. No score should ever surpass 70. I can understand hitting 63 or so by halftime (WVU had a 59-0 lead against Rutgers in 2001 on their way to trouncing them 80-3 where they had 2nd and 3rd teamers in after halftime, ran the ball a total of 48 times, and still scored 21 points in the 2nd half - needlessly to say, it was BEAUTIFUL in an otherwise HORRIBLE year) but good god, why keep pouring it on? That's just nuts.
Yeah, they were winning 41-0 at halftime. So it ended up being 42-6 in the 2nd half alone. Another team in that same league won their game tonight 68-6, which the halftime of that game was 48-6. And in a game from another county, the team won 69-7, and was winning 56-0 at halftime. Some ugly, ugly blowouts tonight. :D
Those are sometimes my favorite games. If I don't have anything invested in the game, I can just sit back and enjoy it.
Depends on the circumstances of the scoring. I remember a few years back I was following one of my friend's HS teams, and they rolled all over their opponent. Even the 3rd string was rolling, and via running the ball, not passing.
If your opponent didn't show up (or is totally outmatched), it really doesn't matter how much you take your foot off the pedal -- not in high school, where the talent differences can be staggering.
To do list for week 2
Get morsdraconis address to send some "pharmaceutical aids" to prevent the eventual stroke he is going to have
Get SmoothieP to set his DVR early in the week
Start making some $ on my awesome predictions
:D Oh, I usually have it set early in the week. I've had Delaware-Navy set to record since last Friday, and had UMass-Holy Cross set to record since Sunday. I just never got around to actually setting it for TCU-Baylor. That, and 3 1/2-4 hours of football in HD, along with other stuff previously recorded, really kills the amount of space on a DVR. :D UMass-Holy Cross alone took up more DVR space than every single other thing combined that was already recorded on it.
Only games worth watching today are the LSU vs Oregon and Boise State vs Georgia games tonight (why in the fuck did they put them on at the same time!? :fp:).
I would totally watch Navy steamroll Delaware if I wasn't working today though. Love me some Navy football.
Yep, Delaware-Navy is the only I am absolutely making sure I sit down and watch. The other games, I may decide to watch at the time, I may not, it'll depend. But Navy is a guaranteed watch.
National champs getting tested by Utah State.
Wow @ this Auburn Game right now.
LOL @ the fairweather Auburn fans leaving after going down 10, and now down 3 just recovered the onside.
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
utah st choked on that onside kick
I wouldnt call them fairweather fans, more like practical traffic avoiding fans. :)
well Utah St. loses, but the point has been made... Auburn is going to suck this year. South Carolina is going to kill them.
Middle Tenn St looking to upset Purdue on the road. Driving late in the game down by 3.
They had a shot at the FG and got it blocked.
Directional Michigan is driving it down Michigan's throat.
Directional Michigan 7 - Michigan 0
South Florida goes up on Notre Dame. :))
Is there anything better than watching Notre Dame getting whipped at home?
16-0 USF
Michigan game is back on..dang lightning storms..dont know about ND starting back up yet ?
ND in a rain delay, best they can do is throw out their win over Utah last year.
Sacramento St delivers in overtime. :D
Arkansas State falls to Illinois 33-15. We played sloppy on offense and were tentative on defense. We had several dropped passes which we should have had, dropped two in the endzone, one of which was a fourth down. The game turned late in the 2nd, we were up 8-7, 3rd & 5, they complete a 4-yard curl, we hit the receiver and don't take him down and he manages to run 40 more yards for the score. After that, we couldn't ever get a good pace going.
Next week will be interesting when Memphis travels to Jonesboro... we could either blow them out badly, or it could be a tight game down to the end. After that is Virginia Tech and Central Arkansas before starting our conference slate.
There ya go Boise State. Fuck up those overrated Georgia morons.
Wow, if I was the special teams coach for Oregon, I would bench that moron for that fumble. Jesus that was a dumb thing for him to do.
Over/under on number of times the entire Notre Dame stadium is evacuated today due to severe thunderstorms being more than the number of wins Notre Dame gets all season.
Some great potential upsets in the making.
Late 3rd, Northern Iowa leading Iowa State 13-7.
Late 3rd, Duke edging Richmond 21-17.
Late 3rd, Washington having a little trouble with Eastern Washington, 27-13.
Late 3rd, Eastern Kentucky leading Kansas State 7-0.
Early 3rd, East Carolina leading #12 South Carolina 24-21.
Early 3rd, Vanderbilt leading Elon 21-14.
South Carolina just scored - 28-24 now over East Carolina.
23-13 USF over ND, but ND is on the 1 about to score.
35-24 South Carolina now
13 - 9 Oregon over LSU now
Man, I just LOVE to watch Kellen Moore throw the ball. He's so damn talented with it.
And Kellen Moore gets 5 Georgia defenders to bite on one dude and takes the easy underneath pass to the TE for the TD. That was like taking candy from a baby.
Yeah, I made the same mistake. I looked at it and thought "shit, Notre Dame's about to score with a good bit of time left", then looked a little closer at the last play and saw it was a USF punt.
As for the game, Notre Dame scored to make it 23-20, but USF recovered the onside kick to close out the game.
ECU comes back, 31-35 South Carolina now.
LSU scores a TD
16-13 LSU
