I'm assuming they wouldn't have the flavor coating powder on the outside of the shell...? Would it be baked in....or on the inside of the shell?

Oh, the powder is on there. My fingers looked like I had just been eating a bag of Doritos by the time I was done last night. It's literally almost like they just took a bag of Doritos and pressed them into taco shells.

Hopefully this is a big hit and they don't run it as some promotional item and it leaves the menu like the XXL chalupa.

Plus I confirmed it earlier in this thread by the fact that I was also eating the Cool Ranch tacos along with the Nacho Cheese ones last night. :D

I don't know, but if they somehow don't take off nationally, well goddamn, finally a great reason to be living in NW Ohio. :D I'll get to enjoy these babies for a lot longer than the rest of the nation before they disappear from the menus. I may have to make another visit to Taco Bell for some more of these things tonight. :D

At least in my defense, I missed a single sentence, 7 word long post while scrolling through catching up with posts after not being on here for a couple hours. JB completely missed a good half a dozen posts talking about the Cool Ranch tacos, which he can't exactly blame on the whole XXL Chalupa sidebar, as he posted in here this morning before the chalupa discussion even started.
