yep all-time choke job right there. just awful in the 2nd half.
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the hell happened during halftime. Duke was just dominating during the first half. I think they caught A&M a little off-guard and taking Duke lightly, but Duke still came out swinging on offense and shut A&M down on defense. Then the second half starts and Duke just rolls over and plays dead, getting outscored 35-10 in the half. Just pathetic. :smh:
Duke just doesn't have the depth and so the starters get gassed towards the end. Same thing happened against FSU. Held with the Noles for awhile but the starters get no rest and they fall apart. What they should have done was ran the ball and the clock all the way down from the beginning of the start of the 2nd half. Had they done that and managed to not turn the ball over it would have been difficult for TAMU to come back. But some bs playaction rollout on 4th and short = turnover and then the 2 INTs late sealed the deal.
Wrong team won but it was a fun game to watch,
- Huskers up 10-9 at half, but may want to start covering UGA's TE.
- Glad to see UNLV & UNT in a bowl. Too bad one has to lose.
- LSU looking like they want to run through Iowa, up 7-0 so far.
UNLV and North Texas had a humorous end to their first half. UNLV lined up for a long 50+ yard field goal. North Texas ended up blocking the field goal and a North Texas player had the ball and was running unopposed to the end zone. However, the refs whistled the play dead and said that North Texas had called a timeout right before the snap. :D
UNLV ultimately ended up missing the field goal short (the kid's career long was 50 yards, this was a 52 yard kick), but it was still funny to watch at the time, North Texas running a blocked field goal back and celebrating, only to have it not count because their coach called a quick timeout before the snap.
Duke didn't try to run and eat clock in second half, at least not as much as they maybe should have. That was dumb. But I picked a n m so I don't care lol

Damn. What an ending in the Nebraska-Georgia game. It all comes down to a dropped pass on fourth down, that's rough.
I'll be damned... Michigan State is gonna beat Stanford.
And that screws me in Bowl Mania. I picked Stanford with 19 points of confidence. :fp:
If Baylor (picked up 35 point confidence) blows it tonight against UCF... :fp:
I was sort of going back and forth, but ultimately decided on Stanford. They're a tough ass team, but just couldn't do anything on multiple fourth down conversion tries, even with Michigan State giving them the ball a couple times (be it punt, fumble or turnover on downs) in the fourth quarter. It was a damn good game though.
As for the Fiesta Bowl, I agree, it's not going to be a blowout. Baylor may be able to light up a bunch of Big 12 defenses, but UCF has one hell of a high powered offense as well, so it'll at worst be a shootout. And thus far, UCF has a pretty good defense too, shutting Baylor down while jumping out to a 14 point lead. This should be a good game. I was thinking about playing my next game in my dynasty against Michigan, but with the way this game is going so far, I may end up watching it for the rest of tonight.
Even though it would screw me, I wouldn't mind UCF winning. It'd shut all of those dumbasses up who were going on about how UCF and the American didn't belong in a BCS game. You'd think they had learned something after all those years of Utah, Boise State, TCU, etc. But nope, anyone not from the SEC, Big 12, Pac-12, ACC or Big Ten apparently doesn't belong there, ever.
Someone has got to teach these Baylor DBs how to properly defend the pass. My god, just hanging all over the UCF receivers. That PI penalty just now, damn near ripping the UCF's player's jersey off and had his shoulder pads exposed. Like the announcers said, Baylor fans can boo all they want, that was a truly legitimate PI call. The UCF receiver was getting mugged the entire way down the field.
Now Baylor is just shooting themselves in the foot. Stupid, stupid penalties. Left tackle, gets flagged for illegal formation because he didn't line up on the line of scrimmage, negating a first down rush and making it second and 15. Then on third down, gets flagged for false start and pretty much screws Baylor's drive. Then on the punt, an illegal shift on the offense. My god man, how many penalties are they trying for tonight? They're already up to, I think now, 15 penalties.
Edit: And in fact, going back on the DVR and looking at that third down false start, both of the left guard and left tackle went right back to lining up way of the line of scrimmage. Both the guard and tackle are lining up practically a full yard off the line of scrimmage. He's going to be lucky if he doesn't get keep getting flagged for illegal formation the rest of this fourth quarter.
Add in a personal foul now on the left tackle for Baylor, making that 16 penalties now tonight on Baylor for 120 yards. I don't think I have seen a more undisciplined and fundamentally absent team than Baylor all season. Other than having a high-powered offense that can chuck the ball to hell and back against over-matched defenses, how the hell did Baylor win 11 games all year?
:D :D :D
Just for good measure, lets throw in an unsportsmanlike like conduct penalty on another Baylor lineman. 17 penalties now for 135 yards, according to the announcers, one shy of the Fiesta Bowl record, set by Oregon if I heard them correctly.
 Well done UCF. Bravo! Screwed the hell out of me in the TGT Bowl Mania, but to hell with it, well done! That should shut up all the dumbasses who have been parroting each other for weeks saying that UCF and the American had no business playing in a BCS bowl. Looks like they just proved those bitches wrong!
Basketball on grass :fp:
Yep. That is where the sport is heading.
I lose interest in American Football by the day and the elimination of the physicality, by rules and by offensive design, are the main culprits.
I have pretty much lost all interest in watching any game that doesn't include the Steelers or the Irish. It's sad, but I can see a day when I only watch my teams and only watch because of tradition. The game is so far removed from what I grew up loving and playing that it can't keep my attention (12 minutes of action in 3-3.5 hours combined with a BILLION commercials doesn't help either) like it used to.
