Funny thing in my offline dyansty on the 360 with Nebraska, I had a tough time with Idaho at home, but smoked Washington on the road.
2013-2014 Season Comes To A Close For Monarchs
Another season, another national championship, has SAU finished a second straight perfect season by blowing out Miami 47-14 on the arm of player of the game Daniel Kelly who threw for 376 yards and 5 TDs against the vaunted Miami defense.
The future is slightly darker as this is the final hurrah for not only the most talented WR to play at SAU, but in all of college football in Thomas Moses. Moses graduates from SAU as not only the record holder in nearly every category for receiving but also as the NCAA record holder for receptions and yards for a career with his 347 catches (breaking the previous record of 316) for 6049 yards (breaking the previous record of 5005). Few teams can reload after having such a talented 2009 recruiting class, but SAU will try by bringing in their best recruiting class ever at #17 with five 4* recruits (including highly touted corner Emmanuel Parks from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and halfback Freddie Kent from Leesburg, Virginia).

Updated the first post with records and such (can't believe I broke those two receiving records with Thomas Moses, that's nuts).
Got tired of doing the game by game stuff (it was really burning me out and plus it wasn't letting me sim games that were sure blowouts) so I just got through the rest of the season and I think I'm just going to do that from now on. While it's definitely more interesting going game by game, it's a whole lot more work than I really feel like doing, so I'm not going to anymore.
Great job on the title man. Great way for Moses to end his career. And do whatever you have to do man. If you find it's easier and you get less burned out doing a season recap or a recap of how things are going every couples weeks, that's perfectly fine. I'll still be a loyal reader.
I'm gonna be slowing down my Navy dynasty for the same reasons (to avoid getting burned out). Excluding Friday and Saturday, as those are my busy days from hell at work, I have been averaging a game per day with my dynasty. Now I'm planning on backing my Navy dynasty down to a game/week update/recruiting update every 2-3 days or so. It'll allow me to continue playing every game and writing up stories for every game, but not get burned out easily from it. Plus, as I am also trying to fit in playing time for MW2, Tiger Woods 11, and about 10 other games that have received extremely little play time in the past couple weeks, it'll allow me time to mix in those games alongside NCAA and my Navy dynasty.
2014-2015 Schedule Announced
Having completed their requirements with Oregon, Vanderbilt, Houston, and Boise State and no longer owing any other team visits, SAU was free to schedule anyone that was willing to schedule a game. Boston College once again, agreed to continue the crosstown rivalry and give it an official name, The Snow Bowl, giving SAU it's 3rd rivalry game.
The Miami Hurricanes also came knocking, wanting a chance to prove themselves again after the manhandling that SAU brought down on them in the BCS Championship Game last season. SAU agreed to play them opening week at Miami.
SAU was able to add storied programs like UCLA and Notre Dame to their schedule this year as well.
Just an update on this, I haven't stopped doing this. I've progressed to the next season already and I'm going to come back and post about season 2014 once I get a chance as well as update everything else.
There will be more Massachusetts domination on the horizon.
So, yeah, I lied about everything but this. I will be definitely bringing this back once '12 hits and it won't be dying like it did before. As soon as we know more about the TB stuff for '12 (if there is anything more to know), I'll be recreating this team as an absolutely terrible team in a heavily modified College Football Landscape.
There will absolutely be more Massachusetts domination on the horizon with plenty of seasons to come.
SAU First School Since SMU To Receive Death Penalty Fines
It looks like the end my be near for SAU's football program as word has gotten out of the enormous amount of illegal activity that has happened during SAU's brief tenor in the Division I ranks of college football.
Numerous reports indicate that Athletic Director Calvin Gregory and Head Coach Jonathan Xavier were allocating improper benefits to numerous players on the football and basketball teams to the sum of $150,000 from various boosters with full knowledge by the Athletic Department of it happening from the beginning of the program until the end of the 2013 season.
In doing so, SAU has become only the second school in Division I history to receive the "death penalty" from the NCAA Executive Committee.
"It's unfortunate that it's come to this, " said NCAA President Mark Emmert, "but what the Athletic Department has done at Saint Augustus University is reprehensible and they must be punished for their obvious flaunting of breaking the NCAA rules for their student athletes."
The penalties handed down on SAU:
- Loss of any awards or games won during their time in the FBS divisions (forfeiting 2 National Championships, 1 Big East Title, 1 Armed Forces Bowl win, and several All-American awards).
- Loss of football for the 2014-2015 season.
- Loss of all scholarship players on the squad with all players known to have received benefits to have their remaining eligibility removed and all other players given the ability to transfer without losing a year of eligibility.
- Greatly reduced scholarship numbers for the first 5 years of football operations (only 10 scholarships available for years 1 and 2, 15 for years 3 and 4, and 20 for year 5)
After the news was released about what happened, both AD Calvin Gregory and Head Coach Jonathan Xavier stepped down from their positions on the team and the boosters involved in the scandal have been banned from the school.
No longer doing the conference realignment.
Instead, SAU will be moved back to being an Independent member of the FBS where they will work out their out of the hole that they have created for themselves.
SAU Introduces New Head Coach and Athletic Director
With the penalties inflicted on the team, SAU has cleaned house of all coaching staff and athletic department members to make way for a much cleaner and more focused group to make their way into the department. Part of that change was to hire a new Athletic Director in Andre Paulnescu and a new Head football coach in Maximus O'Connor.
SAU will be O'Connor's first head coaching job as his previous coaching stops included Offensive Coordinator jobs at Akron, and Memphis and was a HB positional coach at Navy.
Ok, this is seriously coming back now that I'm actually half way interested in NCAA again.

Coach O'Connor's Quotes
--On breaking the team's single game passing yards record
"It was pretty much a guarantee that, sometime during my tenure here at SAU, this record was going to fall. As much as I want our team to throw the ball, it was only a matter of time. I'm definitely more happy about us not turning the ball over during that period than the amount of yards we gained while doing so."
--On the defense's performance today
"We were up against a very talented team and to hold them to only 28 points, only 7 3rd down conversions, and just 16 first downs is definitely a very big accomplishment for us. While, giving up 504 yards through the air was definitely not what we wanted to see. Even more so because of the big plays that we gave up. That was what wasn't a good thing to see from this defense. We've got to keep the offensive players in front of us better than we did today.
--On the run/pass play call distribution
"As was common knowledge when I was hired, my offense is a pass first, ask questions later kind of offense. A 70/30 split is to be expected for the play calling and, most likely, will remain to be the split as the season progresses. Yes, there will be times like today when Chris [Sanders] will scramble out of the pocket and make something happen with his legs or when he makes changes at the line from what he sees in the defensive formation that may skew the ratio more towards the run, but both of those things we love seeing him do with confidence and authority and we encourage him to do it. It's rare to see that kind of mastery of the offense so early from a young player, especially considering the limited amount of playing time that he has had."
On The Recruiting Trail
After a great win at home in week 1, SAU received a letter of commitment from :3star: QB Dennis Phillips. The 6'3" 236 Seaford, New York native was just the 70th ranked QB out of the prospects available, but he shows a real talent for possible dual threat abilities.
--When asked why he picked SAU
"I really believe in what Coach O'Connor is trying to do at SAU and I want to be a part of it. The campus felt like home the minute I stepped on it and I was really surprised by how beautiful it was. Fall in Worcester is going to be great!"
Nice win man. Great way to start off the season. And looking forward to that week 8 game. :)

--On his feelings about how the game played out today
"I proud of how we performed out there. Playing against BC in the first annual Snow Bowl, I was really happy with what I saw. We had some missed opportunities to go ahead and stay ahead, but, in the end, it just wasn't meant to be."
--On the defense's performance against the run
"Not happy one bit. Anytime you allow 224 yards and a pretty ridiculous average on 31 carries, you can't be happy about it. Montel [Harris] is a talented back, there's no doubt about that; but the missed tackles killed us. Letting him break that 80 yarder after breaking three tacklers just wasn't good football by us. We've got to do better in that department if we want to have a chance to be a good football team."
--On Sophomore (RS) Paris Stone's injury
"Paris is having some issues with his back from a hit he took in the 2nd quarter that caused him to have to be out of the game. Currently, it's looking like at least another game before he'll be back, but we'll know more once we have some more extensive x-rays done."
--On the ineffectiveness of the running game
"When Paris went down, we sorta abandoned the run too soon, though partly because BC was looking for it more. That was a mistake on my part as it put too much pressure on Chris's shoulders and on our offensive line to hold back BC's incredibly talented front seven. With the likelihood of Paris being out for another game, we'll be working more of a rotation in at the RB spot in hopes to ignite something there to help alleviate some of the pressure of carrying the team off of Chris's shoulders.
