On the Maryland mock-up....minus the 'shell turf,' it matches the new design they put in for last season so I'm assuming someone is just having some fun with photoshop.
However, they are currently putting in new Field Turf in Byrd Stadium, so that appears to be the origin of the rumor. Isn't that the old Apple font on the field numbers though?

The athletic department's media relations has contacted me, let me know at this time no final decision has been made on the color of the field. I asked if they were considering on changing the color at all and was told the following:Quote:
