And, I have GREAT respect for the Dead Kennedys and what they did for underground music as well as the political side of things in the 80s when EVERYTHING was totally fucked (kinda like now, but in a way different way), but damn are they hard to listen to. I REALLY like the political stuff that they did like Kinky Sex Makes The World Go 'Round, but they're normal stuff is just REALLY tough to get into (though I'm not much for punk in general).
I didn't miss this man. Thanks for pointing these guys out. Pretty interesting stuff though I don't like the mix they use for her vocals. It sounds like she's singing like two steps away from the mic. Hopefully their production quality increases some because, as always, the music is fuckin' phenomenal.
And, of course, the next logical step in my musical postings:

That means you'd approve of this one? Love this song.

In what was a strange moment today, maybe still some remenants of NyQuil in the system. I was thinking to myself that Killswitch Engage should go back to their original singer Jesse Leach. So I go to see what's up with the band, and come to find out about three weeks ago, they announced that he's back with the band 10 years later....that was kind of my holy shit moment of the day.
"After much deliberation and careful consideration, we are pleased to announce that Jesse Leach has rejoined Killswitch Engage. Our job was to find the best person to fill Howard's shoes: a decision based on talent and not familiarity. Truth be told, Jesse blew us away in auditions. The room seemed charged with electricity. He commanded both new and old material, and proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he wanted to do this. The choice became very clear and apparent. "
Jesse Leach also commented on his return to the band,
"It is a great honor to rejoin my brothers after all of these years. After some discussion and much reflection, it was obvious to me this was the path I was meant to take. We got togeth...er and jammed on the 'Howard-era songs,' as well as some Alive or Just Breathing-era songs and we all felt the synergy. I look forward to writing the new record, since the demos sound absolutely amazing, as well as breathing new life and getting comfortable with the soulful songs Howard has written. It is a new chapter of my life filled with new and exciting challenges. I will give all that I can to honor the position I have been given and take nothing for granted. I will sing every note with all of my soul. I am very blessed and very thankful to be back in the KsE family! All things happen in their due time and now is the time for this reunion and new direction."
Here's some Killswitch during Jesse's tenure from 2002:

My Last Serenade was a great song, but overall I didn't like KSE's style with Jesse.
Then again, the fact that I really only like the chrous of My Last Serenade probably says a lot about why I preferred Howard ... or at least why I preferred End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies.
Ok...this is pretty damn incredible. Mastodon - Leviathan on piano all in one take.

The new CC album debuted at #38. Here's a vid from it. Typically lame video from them (though better than most of theirs), but I'm good with the song.

I assume mors already knows about these guys since they're from Morgantown, WV but love their sound. So far, everything I've listened to from this album I've really enjoyed.

New Our Lady Peace album releases in two weeks. Didn't enjoy their two most recent albums but I'll be keeping an ear out for this new one. So far I can't quite get into the first released song so we'll see...

They started as all instrumental but then when they signed a record deal, they were forced to hire a singer so some of their early work has one but at the root of it, they want to do all instrumental. Anymore, the band itself doesn't really do any vocals but looking around, they have done some work with a handful of guys.
If you look at this page on Amazon, seems anything with an actual song title has vocals whereas all their instrumental work is numbered. Personally, listening to those sound samples, the vocals take away from the rest of the music.
Mors, time for your happy dance... :)
