The game has gone gold!

I was very interested in this game. A few years ago, lol.
This will be a "wait and see" for me. I have a feeling it is going to be bug-filled.
Less than a month away!

I'm getting the game too. Is there anyway our paths will cross in the online universe or are the starting points completely random? If I recall the revs said you could play an entire lifetime and never run into your neighbour. You believe that or is it just a cool sound bite?
So the game is only 6 GB??? How do they put so much universe into only 6 GB?
Apparently all the world's are just variations of data combinations. Someone explained it on OS. it's procedurally generated.
I'll be streaming my exploration on release day for sure!
There is an article speculating that a potential lawsuit may lead to a(nother) delay for No Man's Sky.
No Man's Sky has had plenty of problems leading up to its release. The developers had their studio flooded on Christmas Eve of December 2013 (nearly again in January 2014), game was delayed, and then it was revealed that the developers at Hello Games had been having a secret lawsuit over the word 'Sky.'
According to a report from Telegraaf, a Dutch based company is claiming that Hello Games borrowed their "superformula" that allows the procedurally generated game to generate the world around them. This is despite the fact that the Dutch based company has not seen the games code, they have simply heard about the game.
"We haven't provided a license to Hello Games", states Jeroen Sparrow from the Dutch based company Genicap, who emphasizes that the licensing system is put in place to protect its customers. "We don't want to stop the launch, but if the formula is used we'll need to have a talk."
Sean Murray has stated that Hello Games' No Man's Sky is using a "superformula."
In an interview with Business Insider (via NeoGaf) last year, Murray discussed using a formula from a Belgium-based plant geneticist named Johan Gielis. According to Geilis, his "superformula" was "a modified version of the equation for a circle" that allowed a computer to generate a generous amount of natural shapes (like animals, shells, snowflakes and more).
Unfortunately, Geilis is a part of the Dutch company - he's the CRO and he has patented the application of the "superformula." Geilis could only patent the application, considering patenting mathematical formulas isn't allowed.

So a guy on Reddit spends $1300.00 to get the game early.
If you want to see some early footage, get it before it gets deleted.

A guy on OS always gets games early and got that copy for $150. Then sold it on eBay for $1250 I thought to the new guy. That is Flightwhite now known as Campmamba24 on OS. I'm sure he will have another copy soon. Never fails.
Haha, yeah, Flightwhite seems to always have new games a good solid week or more in advance. He's got one hell of a great connection!

I did watch that video yesterday, before it was deleted. It has me a bit more optimistic for this game than what I have been for the last 6 months or so.
I will get the game but I still don't get why it's sooooo expensive.
Same price as any other full title. Am I missing something?

I think Jaymo views the graphics as weak and this as more of an indie title. But it's been developed and promoted for a long time. And there are tons of people looking forward to it. Some are getting ps4 just for this game. This game probably isn't for me but their is massive hype surrounding it. Definitely going to cash in at full price.
I'll be streaming next Tuesday afternoon if anyone wants to hear my thoughts. As long as the UPS man gets it to me :D

The difference between 79.99 Canadian and 59.99 US is minimal. You're not getting screwed any harder than we are. ;)

The guy who supposedly has the game early has already reached the center of the universe.
He has posted some thoughts on reddit, with minimal spoilers. He is playing without a day one patch, so hopefully that will resolve some of the system crashes he talks about.
Lol.
That sub-reddit is now speculating that copy may have been stolen and/or is not final code.
http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-36941962Quote:
Following the leak, some fans have suggested that the game can be completed in around 30 hours - despite the developer's claims that it could take "hundreds" of hours to finish.
Players begin the game at the edge of a universe that is said to be populated with 18.4 quintillion planets.

7 Stages of Grief... Classic!
Fan boys are just ridiculous. Relax and play the game. Never looked perfect to me in the first place.

PSA: Several publications, incl some large ones, have reported to us that they won't be receiving No Man's Sky review copies prior to launch
:D
That doesn't sound good. I've got this pre ordered too. But I expect this game to he an average one more suited for a specific audience. I have been surprised at the huge hype surrounding this.
