EMU hires Drake's Chris Creighton.
CBS Sports reporting that Notre Dame DC Bob Diaco will be the next coach at UConn.
ESPN - Mack Brown to resign as Texas head coach; Brown (158-47 in 16 years) will coach in Alamo Bowl vs. Oregon
Real this time?
I think so.
My initial guess was that with Saban seemingly saying no, they would keep Mack another year and maybe throw $10M a year at Chip Kelly or something. With Mack leaving, I wonder if UT has someone lined up?
Yep, ESPN has the story now with quotes from Mack Brown himself saying he's stepping down after the bowl game on December 30th.
Football Scoop reporting: Sources tell us that Arkansas DL coach Charlie Partridge has agreed to become head coach at FAU
Bye Mack Brown..he resigns tonight
If :Texas: was smart they would go after :Duke:'s HC. Dude can flat out coach.
Texas will never hire a coach that got fired at Ole Miss.
Rich Ellerson out at Army.
I had a feeling it was gonna happen. That loss to Navy yesterday made Ellerson 0-5 against Navy (something that would get even the greatest Army coach canned) and dropped him to 20-41 overall since taking over in December 2008. Ellerson brought some new life to Army and that made for a couple of very close Army-Navy games the last couple years. It'll be interesting to see who they go get. And hopefully they don't dick with the offense. Army finally has an offense that can work, they just need to do a better job of recruiting and getting the players in there to execute the offense.
I led Army to some nice seasons in NCAA Football OD's back in either 12 or 13. Maybe I should submit my resume.

LOL! Typing via phone sucks sometimes.
Not 100% confirmed yet but sounding like Blake Anderson (North Carolina OC) will be named the ASU HC... expect confirmation tonight with a press conference tomorrow.
It'll be interesting to see what he can do at ASU. Agreed that it's amazing that they haven't gone over the cliff with so many coaching changes. After what he did as OC at Southern Miss, as well as his time at North Carolina, it should be fun to see him at the helm of ASU.
Eastern Illinois' Dino Babers to Bowling Green.
Coaching Search says Anderson is not 100% done deal... I heard this rumor earlier in the day but I didn't believe it would work out anyway... seems it's still possible (however small) at this point.

Arkansas State: A source close to the situation has confirmed with CoachingSearch that despite speculation this evening, North Carolina offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Blake Anderson does not have an offer from Arkansas State at this point. A different source tells CoachingSearch that Arkansas State officials are making a run at Clemson offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Chad Morris, tonight. If Morris declines, Anderson could emerge as the guy, but any information right now suggesting that he will be the head coach at Arkansas State is just a guess.
LOL
It's official now...
Blake Anderson's contract will have a buyout of $3M after the first year, $3M after the second year, $2M after the third year, $2M after the fourth year, $1M after the fifth year.
I'd say we should have him for at least a couple of years.
Glad the kids will have some consistency hopefully. Talk about a roller coaster ride.
After most folks were saying "who?" in relation to Anderson, he seemed to win the crowd over at the press conference. He answered everything candidly, said he wants to be a part of this community, etc. and wants to see his daughter graduate high school before he considers moving again (she's a freshman).
He said that the offense will be fun to watch and very fast and that overall the team will be "violent and blow people up". He matched the level of excitement that Hugh Freeze had in taking the job... Malzahn was too big of a celebrity and Harsin seemed like he knew that job was just a step to getting to Boise eventually.
Things sound good at this point so here's hoping we got the right one.
Here's the full quote from Anderson...

Spoiler: show
Wish there was video of the press conference. I don't know what it is, but watching press conferences of coaches being introduced is so damn interesting.

Awesome stuff Tommy. I REALLY hope this one stays man.
Word is that Jeff Monken is leaving Georgia Southern and taking the reins at Army. A press conference at West Point is expected to be held on Monday. Multiple sources are confirming it.
