EA might be better off skipping this year for next gen if its too rough.

Sell to who? The userbase of this next gen will be very small before Christmas. There won't be many next gen sales for Madden with it coming out in November imo. I think they will be lucky to sell 300,000 across both systems and if that game is a dud the bad word of mouth may be very damaging for the next year in addition to slowing down the necessary improvements. They will move FAR more next gen Madden games in 2014 when it is the normal launch window and more systems have been sold imo.
Preview of Madden and FIFA

Sounds like a marketing arm for EA. How reliable is that site? I want an preview from Owen Good of Kotaku or OS because that Dolphins-Saints video looked bad. Way too many impressions being swayed by close up graphics.
Agreed Rudy. Based on the fact that this game is slightly over one month away from release and there has been no official sustained real gameplay footage is frustrating. Since the game comes out before the new system, we really need to hear a full in-depth analysis and see a full game played.
Just listened to the podcast with Grisham, Padre and CDJ... Richard Grisham's comment on Madden vs FIFA for next gen (xbox 1 version) were very dissapointing to hear. However, his comments on FIFA got me excited. Basically he confirmed that Madden 25 on current gen will be entirely madden 25 next gen except for better commentary, visuals, and player movement.
Not really surprising. I do remember liking the better blocking in the IGN E3 video. I saw more dynamic movement on the line. I'd love to see smarter cpu AI with better playcalling and use of their personel but for the first game as a port I kind of doubt we will see that right away.
Where was the podcast. I have long assumed Madden 25 was going to be the same plus better graphics and if that is the case I'll prob just spend my $60 elsewhere. The smart glass feature is interesting but its not going to be on PS4 so that's another reason to not buy the product.
What exactly am I supposed to "feel" next week?
At least that video was a good quality but nothing about that video excited me for next gen Madden. I am surprised they didn't re-shoot all the animations. They need work. The video just looked like a slightly prettier version of what we have right now.
I used to think porting was a good thing and I campaigned for it because I didn't want to take any steps backwards this generation. But I'd like to get a football game that looked and felt different and hopefully in a good way. That's not going to happen for this game imo.
And EA pulls the video due to negative reaction. The game is close to gold or has already gone gold! This is the game folks! If you are pulling videos because you are embarrassed with how it looks you might as well cancel it and work hard on getting it better for next year. Maybe the game has to be experienced to appreciate it. I don't know but this is not looking good for EA.
Edit: OS has a copy of the video that can still be viewed. People are wondering where the true step motion stuff went. One guy at E3 was really happy with it but isn't seeing it in the video.

Back up on youtube... If this is next gen consider me happy staying with current gen for awhile. I had a Syphon Filter flashback with those running animations.

I cannot access the video anywhere. EA must be petrified to release this game at this point.
Get it while it lasts.

You can also get the video here, along with some commentary on the situation.

Thanks for re-posting guys. Not too much there but it wasn't as bad as OS made it out to be. Same game slightly better graphics. Now they really need to just show us 10 mins of REAL footage... it's less tan a month until release on ps4!!!!
EA seems to be doing everything it can to avoid showing real footage. Look at that smart glass video, they move away from the game to the smart glass each time the ball is snapped (one time they show it from a distance). It is a month away and there are no competitors that might steal one of their ideas. They are getting lambasted the past few weeks over the quality of these ESPN videos and all EA has to respond with is "feel this" and "count all the blades of glass."
I guess the question is, "do you think Madden 25 on ps4 is worth ten dollars (if you purchased the ps3 version from best buy)?" I have the $60 credit but honestly at this point I'm not really sure if the grass and crowd is worth ten bucks. I can give them the benefit of the doubt on this release but the next Madden in August better be pretty darn impressive or else I would consider this series done.
$10 for high quality grass?
Spoiler: show
I think that's the point. It's the same game with slightly better graphics when you look at the videos. For those that weren't happy with Madden it was disappointing. For some guys predicting Madden next gen would blow us away it was disappointing. For anyone trying to justify blowing $500 on next gen just to get the next gen Madden it's disappointing. At the very least the game won't take a step backwards which is what everyone was pissed off about this gen.
Did any TGT guys ever get a chance to see next gen NCAA Football?
I think if you enjoy Madden, it's not a big deal to spend another $10 to upgrade.
If you're buying a new console JUST for it, probably not the best idea.
I'm not getting the PS4 just to play Madden. I plan on Battlefield, FIFA, NBA, and maybe another title since Watch_Dogs is delayed. Then in 2014, Watch_Dogs, Destiny, just to name a few.
I thought the idea of MUT being able to be carried over was ho-hum news, but I've been playing the shit out of MUT this year. So I'm kind of excited for that to carry over and play on the next gen. Not sure if the collections reset or not. Kinda hope they do so I can re-do them, and I get some bonus packs for the ones I finished on the PS3.
