Welcome back to Clevver Games I'm Andrea Rene here to talk about my E3 2011 coverage of Madden NFL 12. Football season is right around the corner and Madden will be out in a few short months so I thought I better get my hands on it while I could! Associate Designer Anthony DiMento and I went head to head in a match so he could show me some gameplay, so let's check it out!
Anthony told me design changes were implemented to make the game feel more real than ever, including helmet and jersey degradation throughout the game and 3D animations that show when players kick up grass or dirt on specific fields. But the look of the game is only part of the battle.
Clearly, as an EA Sports designer he was kicking my ass, but there are ways for you to get an edge on your friends or the CPU like the custom Playbook and utilizing the new tackle collision system, more on that in second, let's check out some more footage.
The tackle system he was referring to has been designed in a way that you can choose how to tackle. In Madden NFL 12, instead of just hitting a button and getting a canned animation you'll see over 100 animations for the impact system like gang tackles and concussive hits. I think each year they keep adjusting the Bucs helmet color, its hard to tell what it may actually be...but it looks unique and good
put the play pick boxes at bottom of screen if you want us to see the in between plays art/animations....when coming out of huddle am I going to have to push x to get rid of the broadcast view so I can start doing hot routes and audibles ? just another frustrating time waster that gets in the way of strategy.
Damn dude is a machine lol, he probably played the most Madden out of anyone at E3.

I really like how custom playbooks is tied into downs and yardage.
That video was the first I've been able to see in terms of how Custom Playbooks compare to one another in NCAA Football 12 versus Madden NFL 12. People might hate on GameFlow and GamePlan from last year's game, but without those two additions you wouldn't be seeing the ability to rate each play you add to your Custom Playbook based on situation. As much as I enjoy the Custom Playbook feature in NCAA Football 12, I don't think that there's any comparable option in the game like what we're seeing in Madden.Quote:

I am counting down the days for this game. I enjoy NCAA and prefer it 9.9 times out of 10. However, this year I am most excited about Madden, especially based on these videos.
