Well, to be fair, everyone bitched and complained about the kinect being required in it and that's what the day one patch is for, to disable that being a requirement (from what I understand).

Sorry that recognizing me think creeps me the fuck out. Just sayin'
Pretty soon all electronics will have that capability. Alot of phones have it already. Of course just like the XB1 that feature can be disabled....or so they say 😜😈

Great news: Access to free games each month is coming for Xbox Live Gold members on #XboxOne – Details coming later in 2014

And I should be all set for next Friday. My paycheck hit the bank account this morning. Clear Channel has some fucked up paying practices. My paycheck on November 1st was for the hours I worked from October 1st to the 15th (we're always paid on the 1st and the 15th), yet it was short what I should have been paid. Then my paycheck today, for hours worked from October 16th to the 31st, where I worked only 10 more hours than the first half of the month, was DOUBLE what my paycheck on the 1st of the month was. :fp:
But, regardless, I got my money for all of my hours worked, and I got a very nice major chunk of change landing in my bank account this morning. With that, I have now pre-ordered Dead Rising 3 - Day One Edition, Ryse: Son of Rome - Day One Edition and Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition (which also includes the Day One Edition of the game) to arrive with my Xbox One next Friday. Between the Xbox One and the three games, gonna be dropping $700 sometime next week.
Still want to get NBA 2K14, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, COD: Ghosts, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, but I'm going to wait on those. I was going to get Black Flag this morning, but decided to bump it back and replace it with Forza 5, going with all Day One Editions/Limited Editions for my first couple games on Xbox One.
I'll have to see what deals they have (if any) on those games on Black Friday (online only, fuck the Black Friday crowds) or on Cyber Monday. Otherwise, if no good deals arise, I'll probably wait until after the New Year to look at getting any of those games, as parts of my November 30th and December 15th paychecks will be dedicated towards Christmas shopping and probably won't have a ton of money left over to be spending on games at $60 a pop.
So what all the free games are gonna X360 games :fp: But will be interesting on what games they add.
I just received a email saying my Xbox One is being delayed and the estimated delivery is 11/29/13 - 12/17/13. This is a little ridiculous.
September 21
Day one.
Chill out guys it's only a console. It will arrive we it's suppose to if not pick it up in store next time.
No but if your paying over 500$ and more money for shipping , the console itself is called "Day One" which makes it false advertising not a huge deal but still a little frustrating.
And I am officially an owner of the Xbox One, Dead Rising 3 - Day One Edition, Ryse: Son of Rome - Day One Edition and Forza Motorsport 5 - Limited Edition.
$499.96 and $199.94 were taken out of my bank account in separate transactions by Amazon two hours ago at 3:06 AM. My Xbox One has been updated to Preparing for Shipment. My games still show as Pre-ordered, probably won't change in status until tomorrow I'm guessing. They never change and get shipped out until Monday for normal pre-ordered games released on Tuesday.
God I wish I had the extra 600 to get this bad boy. feb won't arrive soon enough.
Not a glowing review....

Amazon opened up pre-orders again this morning, I assume for launch consoles, but I decided to pass for now. I will get X1 eventually.
I haven't heard, are they doing B2G1 for X1 like for PS4?
Yeah, I read through that while at work this morning. I can live with those issues. None of them are issues that are going to make the console unusable and they'll be quickly patched up, get stuff working 100% and good to go with a couple patches. Hell, the day one patch very well could fix half of that for all we know. As long as the console turns on and works, I'm fine. If snapped apps are a little lagged or the Kinect can't 100% quite understand me every time, oh well, I'll live. It's no different from some of the stuff with the PS4 and their store and whatever the other issues or, "disabled" I guess you could call it, features that weren't quite properly working until after one or two patches.
That review was made on an Xbox that he received two weeks ago, so it's going to have old software on it. Hell, for all we know, it might not even be the exact same software version that will arrive on the launch consoles. And regardless, either way, I'd rather wait for a review after the day one patch and see what was fixed up versus a review with a non-patched console.
The PS4 wasn't meant for an entertainment device like XBOX is claiming for theirs. Kotaku is making it seem like it's not as easy as it shows on the commercials.
Seems like it's best to wait on this one. Where I've not really had any problems with my PS4 outside of the picture through the Elgato not showing up on my TV where it worked just fine with the PS3.
Doesn't matter, I'm just saying the PS4 has very similar problems. I haven't had any problems with my PS4, either, but that doesn't mean there's not things wrong with it. No support for MP3. Organization of games is going to be an utter mess once they start accumulating because there's no sorting options. There's no way to close apps that aren't games. I could go on and on, but I have class.
Point being, both of these consoles (having experienced PS4 and what I've read about XOne) have shit software, meaning they were both rushed.
And my Xbox One and three games are officially on the way. Got a text from Amazon that the One and all three pre-ordered games had been shipped out together at 2:47pm. I'm guessing they were holding all of the Xbox Ones at specific special warehouses around the nation, because this package is coming from Richmond, Virginia. In the hundreds of things that I have ordered from Amazon over the year, never have I had something originate from Richmond, Virginia.
So just how heavy are these consoles? Looking at UPS tracking, the Xbox One (and its box and packaging) and my three games, all boxed up and shipped together, weigh in at 16.80 pounds. Yeesh.
PS4 was 10.6 pounds, I believe, but it's a lot smaller than the Xbox One.
Finished paying off my Xbox tonight. Most of it came from trades so getting it for like $20 out of pocket is pretty nice. Found out that for some reason, I'm not getting the day one edition, but the regular one, which annoys me a bit...but I guess it's really not that big of a deal. What did it include? A controller with "day one" on it and black packaging? Yeah, I guess I'll be able to live without that.
I still have no idea which games to get. I'm thinking Dead Rising 3 and Ryse, but they both have really mixed reviews.
