Finally got around to watching season two of Falling Skies (and will finish the last two episodes tonight). What a great season thus far! I find this show has a really enjoyable premise. Its too bad they don't make more than 10 episodes a season.

I enjoy the short seasons. It cuts out the clutter.

Anyone watching the new show Turn on AMC?
I had the DVR record it. I've been looking forward to it, hopefully it is as good as the previews made it look.

The ultimate TV marathon is coming to FXX in August. They are going to show all 552 episodes of The Simpsons.
Arrow is gonna be epic tonight. Don't for get to watch.
Vikings Season 2 kicking some major ass, what a finale to the season.
Spoiler: show
Gotham has some potential I can' wait to see how it goes. Hopefully Fox can make it last past season 2. It'd be great if it could last just as long as Smallville did.
That's why I hardly give any network shows a chance. Last time I did it was Vegas and CBS only gave that great show ONE f'n year.
Though, I have to think there's something for this rumor/news to start.
Is it like Terra Nova? Just took much $ to produce?
Maybe. There's some special effects, but I would guess main expense are travel costs. IIRC, NBCU owns Sy-fy as well and they axed a flagship program there (Eureka) due to costs, so they could be at play here.
Uh oh, G:
It seemed like Community had been given a stay of execution for a while, so this was inevitable.
Someone talk G off the ledge....
Nah... it's been expected. Plus, Season 4 where they let Dan Harmon (show creator) go just kind of threw everything off-kilter. I would have preferred they have a true final season but at this point, it's probably better to just let it go. Maybe Netflix or someone else will pick it up and give it a good send-off.
CBS announces more CSI and NCIS Spinoffs. CSI: Cyber and NCIS: New Orleans. :fp:
I liked the early CSI's but when Peterson left and they started churning out spin-offs I just stopped. Never could get into the NCIS series, though I know it is popular. The worst spin-off decision was Criminal Minds when they tried one with Janeane Garofalo. I would rather cut my testicles off than watch Janeane Garofalo.
I will stick to British TV for quality crime shows.
I saw a list of about 30 new shows for next year. The only things that sounded remotely interesting were "Gotham" a prequel young Bruce Wayne type show and "Marvel's Agent Carter" which takes place during WWII in the original Captain America movie. Other than that it all looks like complete crap IMO.
Just started watching Orphan Black on Amazon Prime and I normally avoid anything that hints of Sci-Fi but this show is fantastic. Tatiana Maslany. :hump:
There was supposed to be NCIS: Red but that got scrapped. I catch NCIS re-runs on USA - the original isn't bad, but the LA edition is weak. I caught the spin-off episodes for NO....not terrible, but not good either.
I've heard that show is good but haven't watched a second of it. I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but might have to check it out.

New info on the Friday the 13th TV series. Sounds better than I was expecting.
FX cancelled Legit. That sucks. Loved that show.
Just found out CBS cancelled Men at Work
Really enjoyed that show as it was one of my top shows that I watch. I don't many shows on TV. The ones I do/did are either cancelled or ended. Burn Notice, Las Vegas..now Men at Work.
Now only three shows I can think of that I will watch is Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire (about to end I know) and Franklin and Bash
I am looking forward to the Last Ship but who the hell knows if that will last.
Going to stop giving shows a chance so I won't get drawn in
Do you mean TBS?
I watched the first season of Men At Work. I liked it.
Shit I mean't TBS haha
Yeah man loved that show. Guy in Franklin and Bash was the producer for it.
The cast they had was perfect
I'm watching the first of a three-part series on The History Channel (who knew they still had history on that channel!?) called "The World Wars".
It will tell the stories of the first and second World Wars with emphasis on the roles of men who were part of both wars and big parts of the second (ie Hitler, Churchill, Patton etc.). It is part documentary (narration and interviews with historians, politicians, high-ranking servicemen etc.), part historical footage and part re-enactment.
Very good so far. I'm not sure how complete a story they can tell in 3 2-hour episodes but it is better, so far, than the shit I've watched from the 70s and 80s that is full of lies and misleading information because we were scared of the Soviets and didn't want to upset them by telling the truth.
I'd recommend it, thus far.
I'm DVRing the series, so I'm glad you give it good marks so far. Shows covering history on History are few and far between, which is a shame.
Military Channel has gone to crap too. Always a bunch of non-military shows on. Same with Science Channel. Half the week, it's nothing but fucking Survivorman on day and night on Science Channel.

How the heck are we all not talking about Fargo? Just when I thought they could not top themselves they do it again. Billy Bob Thorton was born to play the role of Loren Malvo.
90 minute finale next week!
P.S. If you have not watched the show, at the very least read the two quotes in the spoiler below. Just to get a glimpse at one of the best characters on TV.
Spoiler: show
I've been watching it each week. I've been enjoying it. It's actually turned out pretty good.
As for length, yeah. It's a one season 10 episode limited series. I still have yet to watch this week's episode, but it and the finale should be damn great.

Actually they are in the works on a second season. Could be a brand new cast though. One of the writers comments was a bit foreboding.
Quote:
When asked what the fans should expect from this season's final episode, Hawley had just one word: "bloody."
Probably like True Detective.

Finally getting on the ball to finishing Falling Skies and Defiance before their premieres this week. Only 3 episodes left in Falling Skies, and I think 8 in Defiance, so there will be one episode of Defiance sitting in the DVR before I'm caught up though.
And in other news... :D :D :D
