According to the resident TGT genius, they aren't getting concussions. It's all an act. This is probably all a ploy to get the drooling masses to feel sympathy for the players.

Interesting!
JJ Abrams calls it a "blood relative" to Cloverfield; which was a movie I really liked. It has John Goodman in it too so that's definitely a plus. They had secret names for the movie to keep it's origin a secret.

This is a good article breaking things down on it too: http://www.slashfilm.com/10-cloverfi...cloverfield-2/
I read that article last night. Pretty interesting.
It sounds like this might be a thriller that was adapted to be set in the Cloverfield world. I wonder how much (or if) it advances the story or mythology from the first movie.
I'm concerned it won't be a pure sequel like many who seem to be excited are hoping for. IIRC Cloverfield had some clever pre-release marketing so I wonder if/what this one will do.
I get the feeling that's the basic premise. The question is does the babe look outside and see the monster/aftermath in minute 45 or in the final scene?
An Abrams project set in a hatch? There has to be some LOST/DHARMA hidden references in the movie. If I caught it correctly, the first two numbers typed in the jukebox were 4 & 8.

This looks great!
:o I don't know....I'm worried it might be like every other Wiig/McCarthy movie trailer: We may have just watched all of the best parts of the film. I don't think it looked terrible, but also don't think it looked good. Need to see more, either way.
My prevailing thought while watching was that I wished modern-day special effects existed 30 years ago for the original.
The original Ghostbusters was a classic!
The key master and some of that stuff doesn't hold up over time. But Bill Murray is classic. His lines about this man has no dick and cats sleeping with dogs are still great.
I thought the first was a classic, the second a huge letdown. However, I caught the second one on cable a few months back and it wasn't as bad as I remembered. This new version might make Ghostbusters II a lot better in hindsight.
Fucking WOW! :D :D :D

I still haven't seen The Force Awakens
Bite your tongue! Star wars is great!
I absolutely loved Star Wars as a kid. The movies don't quite hold up as well 40 years later but the universe they are in is cool. Everyone likes a classic good vs evil story. The new trilogy sucked for the most part as it centred on cgi and had lousy writing. This last one was very good and you don't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it. I was only really bothered by a couple things: they re-used some plot devices of earlier films which wouldn't bother those who haven't seen them. And the good guys are always super skilled and/or lucky at times but that's star wars.
I think anyone can enjoy this last film and most newbies would probably say it's the best star wars movie made.
