I was very tempted to purchase the PS4 via pre-order but I decided against it. Without an NCAA edition I would not get a worthwhile bang for my buck. I just wish Sony would have more simulation/strategy titles as the "shoot em up" games don't appeal to me. Plus I am still nervous about what EA's next gen SPORTS titles will look like. I will probably pick up the PS4 for the summer of 2014 but I am looking forward to reading your Insights once your systems arrive.

I thought AC IV would be a launch title.
wow going to be an expensive launch day for me as I'm tempted by 5 already announced launch titles: (1) Watch Dogs; (2) Knack; (3) 2K14; (4) FIFA; (5) Madden.
I'll also prob upgrade Drive Club it its solid from the + edition.
I agree the launch day titles are gonna be awesome for me it will be, battlefield 4, Madden 25,COD Ghost ( 360) and perhaps Killzone. It will be an awesome November.

CROSS-GAME CHAT! FINALLY! Oh, and you have to play for multiplayer on the PlayStation 4.
Sony has now confirmed that multiplayer on PlayStation 4 will require a PlayStation Plus subscription, and that cross-game chat will (finally) be available on launch of the new console.
Fergal Gara, Sony UK CEO, confirmed that the PS+ requirement came for two key reasons: “First of all, we wanted to introduce the console at a healthy price-point compared with PS3,” and the second was because Sony is “investing in a higher performance network, new things, better performance, [and] better reliability.”
However, a single PS+ subscription will cover all available Sony platforms (PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PSP), and only the PS4′s multiplayer will require the subscription to function. Gara also took the opportunity to state what “immense value” PS+ currently is, covering all platforms, as well as providing free games of all types, and unique discounts on the PSN Store.
The PlayStation 3 was heavily criticized at launch for having an unrealistic price tag attached to it, approximately £425 in the UK, and currently the PlayStation 4 is sat very comfortable at a price tag of £349. A full £76 cheaper than the PS3′s launch price, and a slightly higher £80 cheaper than the current RRP of the Xbox One currently set at £429.
Gara also confirmed when when questioned on cross-game chat on the PS4: “It’s there.” Good. It’s about time, Sony.
Wonder how long they will make us wait on a release date? Madden and Watchdogs I am certain on, may be a couple others.
Sony ain't sayin' until MS says so Sony can launch a week earlier. This is how I imagine Bill Gates talking to the XB1 developers and Yosheda comes in to save the day....

New PS4 bundles on Amazon. I think you save like .02

LMAO at the PS4 controller outselling the XBOX one.
Damn pre-orders page mocking me. After making my decision NOT to preorder it seems like every site I go to has PS4 for presale. After watching that Knack video I may need to have the talk with the wife and explain that our marriage is strong enough for a ps4. :D
Is the cross game chat thing like party chat ? I just wanna be sure. Better servers would rock!
Not that anyone would be surprised here but confirmation games remain $59.99

Not sure if I will follow through with it or not but I decided to pre-order on Monday as a new set of inventory was made available. I figure I have a couple of months to influence the wife over the purchase.
That's the way I am right now. I pre-ordered both the first day of E3 after Amazon made them available. I have at least three months to make up my mind on if I want one or the other, both or neither, on release day. Keep the day one pre-orders and sleep on it all for a while. Works for me. :)
PS4 release date 11/13?

Meh I don't think Sony probably has nailed down an actual launch date yet. To me its the easiest thing to move around so why announce it nearly 5 months ahead of time? They could easily wait another 1-3 months to re-stoke interest and see if they need some extra juice now that they are competing with XBox180 instead of the XB1

I'll believe in the Killzone vita when I actually play it. IGN raved about Resistance "finally being the go to shooter on the Vita," and while I enjoyed it, it was 3 1/2 hours long and the online was unplayable due to lag. Then, Call of Duty suddenly was going to be "the go to shooter on the Vita," and all it did was become one of the worst reviewed games of all time.
I have more faith in Guerrilla Games than the other studios, but they're also going to that stupid mission based story the last I heard, so that's already something I wont like.
Knack looked like a cartoon beat 'em up to me, so I'm not interested there. Shadow Fall, Second Son, and the Order are the ones that caught my eye.
Yeah Knack definitely isn't "most gamer's cup of tea" which is sad considering how in the past EVERY console had a mascot cartoony platform game. I'll probably buy it and enjoy it and then people will make fun of me for buying/enjoying it.
I cannot play FPS so unfortunately the trend of me not being able to play a significant chunk of the games will likely continue next gen.
To be safe, I just put in a request to take off 11/5, 11/6, 11/12, 11/13 :D
I love Ratchet and Clank, but at it's heart, Ratchet and Clank is a platform game. I hope that's what Knack is, but I haven't seen anything yet to make me think it is.
