I was able to get some further info on how the OVR team ratings are calculated:
The OVR ratings are normalized. So for instance with WISC being a 99 OVR, it just means they are one of the top teams. It only takes starters into consideration (Wisc has the best HB in the game).
Now I would personally argue that they're still overrated but at least now we have a better idea of why the ratings are what they are.
Is this how OVR was calculated in previous versions as well? Starters only?Quote:

Personally I don't understand how Boise St is a 6 star program. 5 star, absolutely. But IMO 6 stars should be reserved for programs that have a long history of excellence that are also currently a power. Alabama, USC, etc... Obviously just my take.

In real life too, stars represent prestige, not talent. Notre Dame is a much more prestigious than Boise St, just look at their respective histories, fan bases, media coverage, and recruiting. ND wins every category. The only place BSU can compete is on the field.Quote:
