#5 UM traveled to #11 Wisconsin and broke out some new offensive sets. While struggling at first against a fast Badger defense, the offense caught their stride later in the game and the game turned into a shoot-out. The normally solid Wolverine defense took too many chances early on and gave up 14 quick points to put the team behind 14-0, with UM trailing most of the game. However, the Wolverines made plays late and left Badgerland with a 42-31 win.
The defense had trouble with senior stud Wisconsin RB John Clay however, but luckily won't likely face a runner of his ability for the rest of the season.
Starting QB Denard Robinson was injured, so backup Devin Gardner picked up most of the snaps even though he left the game momentarily with an injury as well.
Kentucky Sacks #22 South Carolina, Lattimore 42-6

Northwestern improves to 2-0 in conference play and 3-1 overall as they down Purdue on the road 33-16. Purdue kept the game close in the first half with a sustained rushing attack and actually led 10-9 with 28 seconds left to go in the half. But Jordan Maybin took the kickoff from the Boilers and raced 98 yards as the half ended to give the Cats a 16-10 lead they would not give up at the break.
Arby Fields led the way for the Cats on offense gaining 114 yards on 22 carries and scoring a late touchdown to seal the game. Dan Persa had another strong showing as he completed 13-18 passes for 208 yards but failed to throw a touchdown. Persa has been sharp for the Cats this year raising his completion percentage from last year and has yet to throw a pick, something he did 16 times last year.
The Cats defense was led by Maybin (7 tackles, int) and Roderick Goodlow (5 tackles, 2 tfl) as the Boilers struggled the entire second half to get anything going.
Northwestern stays on the road next week as they travel to Illinois (2-2) to face their bitter rival in the Fighting Illini.
Gonna advance tomorrow night sometime, estimating around 9PM central.
