Well, Operation Sports has put in enough ads (namely really annoying ones) now that I'm not sure I can stand it long enough to visit there.
Keep things just like they are, TGT.
For the love of God, yes! While I've very rarely spent much time on OS, mainly to check out a couple things on random games (HC 09, NBA 2K, NHL, etc), the amount of ads they have on that site keep me from ever caring to stay around longer than I must.
Ads can be done if done tastefully. There's a storm chasing site that I visit, stormtrack.org, that has ads on their site, but those ads are small, well placed and tastefully done that they are not a hindrance nor even really noticed while on the site. But I definitely prefer the non-ad covered TGT. :)
Well, I don't even mind ads. I run a couple websites, so I can appreciate that these guys need to do what they can to offset server costs, and, dare I say it, possibly make some profit.
But two things have started happening on OS that make me scratch my head. One is that when I'm just casually browsing, a pop-over ad will start and I have to wait ~5 seconds to skip it. The second is that this weekend they've got some Mario ads on the site that run a video with sound. Both of those are incredibly, incredibly annoying. I have no problem with ads, until they actually interfere with my interest in the site.

Yeah, pop-over ads and ads with video and sounds are two of the most annoying and aggravating and both will result in me spending as little bit of time humanly possible on a site that has them, even going so far as never visiting again is I can avoid it.
yep, the pop-overs are a site killer

That's what adblock is for guys...
Speaking of sites to avoid... my gosh... PASTAPADRE. Wow! Have you ever read those forums? There are some of the most mean, cruel, spiteful, childish, and rude posters on the internet that all come together at his site. I am amazed that pasta allows the posters to say what they say. The content posts are really disgusting. Thank goodness TGT is not like that. While talking about TGT, in my opinion this is the best forum on the internet! Well done to all the members involved.
Whats funny is I don't like guns nor do I own one...but I'm obviously not anti-gun either. My friend was just doing some target shooting and he asked if anyone else wanted to try. My daughter jumps up and gets all excited. He held the gun with her when she shot it (that was my one stipulation) but man did she like it.

If you're talking about the ads, eh. His ads don't bother me that much, except the occasional time that I accidentally click on one of the background ads.
I've seen so, so much worse :D
If you read some of the things he writes on G+, it's pretty easy to get the impression that he forms his writing and content to what gets the most views. So he'll give a compliment to EA or 2k, but manage to frame it in a way that it can still come across as a negative. So depending on your own view while reading it, chances are you'll agree with him. I like Bryan as a guy, but sometimes he'll drive me crazy with the way he writes stuff.
Now, the best part for me is that I know several people that are convinced Pasta is an EA hater. But if you look at the comments on anything that is remotely complimentary of EA, he's accused of EA bias and doing things so EA will continue to invite him to events (which, AFAIK, he has been to events in years).
It's kind of like how every fan base in college football is convinced that Brent Musburger is a homer for their opponent. Hey, whatever fits your narrative, bud.
I'm okay with the game discussions, movie reviews, etc. All that stuff is good. What I dislike is some of the posters who post racist comments, sexuality slander, etc. simply becuase someone doesn't agree with there stance on a VIDEO GAME. That is just silly and totally unecessary. On a personal note I have always found Pasta to be fair and pretty objective. It's the people who post on his forum that I sometimes take issue with.
Gotcha. Can't disagree there. Obviously I misunderstood you slightly :D
Though I do have way too much fun playing the "where do I know you from?" game with some of his "anonymous" posters. I'm pretty sure I've figured out a couple of them.
