Cannot wait to play the demo tomorrow!
One more day peeps! I can't wait to see what Madden 25 has to offer. I still might be waiting to get for the Xbox One though. Depends on the demo.
Its been a while since I have been this excited for Madden to drop, much less the demo. Not sure why, but I have a good feeling about this year. :)
:+1: I'm going to buy Madden this year. I was planning on waiting until the PS4 version drops but NCAA isn't doing it for me. Ill only stay active in the OD I'm in but don't see myself playing my offline dynasty anymore. The demo and season ticket will tell me more but it would have to be really bad for me not to buy.
Typed by thumbs.
I made a fake facebook to get through. I can post the link for the actual plays and not the facebook link. This should work.

I'm in Toronto and brought my PS3. First hotel I've seen with the new HDTVs and they blocked the input stuff! Most of the hotels I have been to have been lazy and not bothered when they switched over. Googled it and figured out disconnecting the phone line in the back of the TV would help and it worked! I'm up on my PS3 but haven't hooked up to the hotel light WIFI. Not sure if I will try it. I don't know if they can figure out if I download 2 GB worth of a demo and I remember setting up some of the PS3 internet settings was a pain in the ass. I don't know if I want to mess with that area. If I don't I will have to wait until late Thursday to try the new demo.
I did play an M13 demo game and I am really rusty. My passing skills suck worse than normal.
when time does the demo drop ? xbox that is.
It was out before 6 AM I guess. Get it here: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Pr...5-d802454189c5
I'll download the demo tonight when I get home from work but unless I am COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY. I'll wait to PS4 and then confirm it is a full blown game and not something watered down.
Commence Download NOW!!! I'm Downloading the Demo get some early impressions up in a few. Can't wait!
Any one else with the demo right now ? Too bad online wasn't available with the teams ha that would be sick.

Downloading now on my PS3. I have said all along that I expect this will be Madden 13 gameplay mixed in with overpowered NCAA 14 read option running and NCAAesque softzone D. However, I did enjoy 13 last year so I will probably be able to look over some of the issues. I heard some of the sliders were removed. I just don't get why???
I will hopefully be playing in the next 30 mins so I hope to report back soon.
I'm about to start playing but I must say that I love the Robert Craft video (even though I despise the Pats). It's a nice touch IMO.
Game 1: Seahaws 10 vs Packers (me) 17 on all pro
I chose this game because I wanted to see how the read option would be from the cpu.
visuals are stunning (players and stadiums look great)
default game speed is far too fast for my liking
commentary is better but there are still a lot of dead spots
I see they added the NCAA guess the play feature
Rb's seem pretty over powered with the truck-stick (I watched Lynch truck-stick 3 linemen
my first run from Lacy a 46 yard carry on a hb counter... overall running the ball is very easy
penalties are non-existent on default (zero penalties in my first game
the stiff arm is just way, way, way, way too overpowered
* Rice stiff-armed SIX players on one pass play!!!!
ball hawk feature works very well!
the crowd is great and the chants sound wonderful
I have seen a lot of drops by my wr's
zone d is fairly soft and a lot of post routes are poorly covered
the audible system is much improved IMO
there just aren't enough stat overlays for my liking (NCAA is far superior)
I like the sideline reporter but only heard her once
halftime show is not a show... it's pointless
infinity 2.0 seems a lot more crisp than last year
play action is money if it's set up well
haven't really seen any fatigue in this game
celebrations after td's are pretty cool
uniform degradation is far better in madden than it is in NCAA
the qb read option is guaranteed for big yards
I struggled to generate a pass rush all game. Sims even commented on it
route mirroring is still alive and well in Tiburon football... :(
the Seahawks had more injuries in the game (3) then I have seen in any one game on NCAA 14.
player of the game still screwed up... a defender with an int and i tackle is the mvp
Overall if you love D may may not enjoy this game at times. It is totally geared towards offense, specifically the run game.
I had a lot of fun playing the game but there is nothing breakthrough about this game. It's your standard Tiburon offering.
Forgot to mention the rushing stats...
Lynch 14 carries for 93 yards and a td (6.6 ypc) with 9 broken tackles and well over 20 stiff arms/trucks
Lacy 13 carries for 107 yards (8.2 ypc)
A strange stat.... Seattle had 22 pancakes and I had 3!!!
there are also very few assisted tackles in this game (I had 4 and the cpu had none)
In game two I put the gameplay on very slow and it feels so much better.
I also put injuires and fatigue to 70... SF has already lost their first two rbs halfway through the first. These sliders totally work.
It's nice to see that now all of the players in the starting lineups are recognized rather than the key players
Running with Ray Rice feels entirely different than running with Lacy. It feels like driving a tank with Rice when he cuts.
Nice thoughts. I'm never going to get this demo with the hotel's connection. Ugh.
The sliders do NOT have special teams sliders so that blows. They removed RB Break Tackle and the defensive sliders like pass rush and block shed for running. The only plus is they added pass coverage in addition to pass reaction.
Game 2 played 100% different than game 1... it was all defense as I lost 10-7 to SF. A couple of extra notes after two games.
1. Zero penalties in two games
2. zero fumbles in two games
3. speed backs will be huge in this game as power backs can be slow to get off the mark
4. most injuries are not reported so you don't what's happening
5. cpu logic is better but still sometimes questionable.
6. ask madden... don't use it IMO
FYI guy I got a demo thread up . so go there.
game 3: penalties at 100 test
GB vs Seattle (me)
penalties in order
1st q
facemask: 1
facemask 2
2q.
facemask 3 (me) (on a kickoff)
facemask 4
facemask 5
facemask 6
holding 1 (on a kickoff)
In the first half five of the six facemasks came on qb runs. My facemask was on a kick return
q3.
false start (me)
roughing the passer
holding (me) negated a td
facemask
holding (on the kickoff)
falsestart
q4.
falsestart (me)
falsestart (me)
I blew out GB 35-7 in this game. With all penalties at 100:
Seattle: 6 - 45
GB 10 - 102
It seems that false start, and face mask and the occasional holding are the only penalties called. Next game I will probably keep everything at 100 except I will turn facemask and falsestart down to 75.
I am really enjoying very slow with 70 injury and 70 fatigue. I might try slow next game though just to see. Either way, default is just too fast. I also need to look at threshold. Last year I had 30 so that may be the next test.
Okay... family is back home... no more games until tonight.
I got 2 defensive pass interference calls 1 on me and 1 on the CPU using default 50 so I leave that alone. I noticed more calls the higher the slider got with offsides, holding, false start, face masking, clipping, and roughing the passer. I utilize the premise that penalty sliders affect gameplay so I change them to mostly impact areas of the game outside of the penalty being called which is sad, thanks EA Tiburon.
lol I had the 49ers in one of my leagues on Madden 13
Went 15-1 and won our Superbowl (Nickelbowl)
They are pretty solid lol. Here is two of the games I had from last season...was playing terribly to start Giants game.

All the offensive players ratings: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3Ut...pli=1&sle=true
Some of Miami's OL are off. Josh Samuda too low, rookie Dallas Thomas too high (been bad). Lamar Miller a touch low but he's more injury prone - same for Daniel Thomas. Got one guy in the wrong spot but the big dogs are all pretty good. Rookie RB Gillislee has high blocking ratings for some reason.
Clint wrote in this blog that the QB accuracy ratings are what they actually use for their accuracy as true percentages. Aaron Rodgers deep ball is 87 which means he's accurate 87% of the time on the deep ball. That sounds too high to me: http://clintoldenburg.sportsblog.com...k_ratings.html
On PFF Rodgers went deep 62 times last year with 26 completions and 7 drops. That still leaves 29 times where there was no completion. At 87% that means only 8 should be misfires so that says 21 of those 29 misfires were pass defenses and not simple incompletions. Not sure I'm buying that. Deep balls have quite a few balls that land out of bounds or just out of reach. To say a DB got his hands on the ball almost as much as the WR for the best deep thrower in 2012 is a stretch. Maybe this is why so few balls hit the ground in Madden.
I wonder if opening day and/or season ticket will have a roster update? The Raiders Taiwan Jones is listed as a rb but this year Allen is converting him to db. Also, matt McGloin is not listed but he's had a great camp and I like him a lot more than Wilson. I may need to create a custom roster as I have every intention of having McGloin on my roster.
I will definitely be taking the latest roster and editing my Dolphins to make sure they are more accurate. Quite frankly the biggest problems I saw were some vets and draft picks being too good. Some of the younger improving players were too low. They aren't real time accurate but that's the problem with having one guy do all the ratings. It's real tough. I know Donny Moore would do a better job on every other team but I can do a better job on Miami.
Here's some retail footage of owner mode. Rudy, the Dolphins are in this clip. Enjoy!

Why does EA send games out to people won't don't know anything about football?
I will NEVER play this mode but here is a clip for MUT.

According to my season ticket, the Madden 25 download begins Friday @ 10am pacific.
Another "quality" video from a person who has the game early via EA. Warning this guy is not a football gamer and hasn't played Madden in a long while... On the bright side though it is PS3 footage and it looks pretty decent.

I agree. A lot of these guys are nobodies too. Why is EA doing this? The only thing I can think of is they are sheep who will provide positive only feedback.
I'm looking at the Madden ratings and they removed acceleration. I don't care that much because I think EA never did it right. They had some big guys with ratings in that category way too high. Some guys like Barry Sanders had incredible acceleration too although just building it into the speed rating is generally fine with me.
The Dolphins starting RB Lamar Miller is way too low at 75 (that's 55th in the Madden RB list). Heck, ex-Dolphin and one-foot-out-the-door Ronnie Brown is rated 78. A curious thing as I started breaking down the formula calculations, Aaron Rodgers was really rated about 104 last year (all ratings are capped at 99 on display) but he's not 100+ this year. He's actually what he says. But AP calculates out to 102. Another funny thing, Carolina Panthers "LT" Patrick Brown is a real outlier for me since his formula rating is off by 5. Almost everyone comes out exactly on or no more than 1 point off. It's because his overall rating is based on the RT calculation (where he is bang on) but he's listed as a LT for some reason. It's as though the database has some outdated fields compared to others.
Pass and run block ratings are still ignored for RBs in their overall ratings. I don't know about the 3rd down back ratings.
Yeah I noticed that acceleration was missing. I was very curious as to why. In the demo I have not had a run over 30+ yards. I'm not sure if that is because of speed burst, no more acceleration rating, or both. I really don't understand anything about ratings and Tiburon football games. I would be curious to know how many of the ratings work/impact the game to begin with. On default backups play pretty much like first stringers.
