Not bad for an "undersized" QB.

He deserves EVERY PENNY OF IT. What that dude has done for New Orleans the city as well as that football franchise is immeasurable.
With a thought to have destroyed shoulder years back. Not bad at all.
I still remember the first time I watched a game of his while at Purdue. They ran the sickest fake, reverse or whatever it was I've ever seen. He hit the ball on his leg and casually stood there...then heaved the ball some 40-50 yards. The pass was incomplete but it completely fooled everyone for a good 3-4 seconds...maybe even more.
I'll try to find that play. Ever since I tried to watch him while in college.
Not surprising for a guy who works his ass off...
Polamalu admits he has lied about concussions...
The number of NFL players who have been arrested in the last 10 days is staggering.
The number of thugs on the Lions' roster is making Cincinnati look good.

Hell, when I played back in high school, there were multiple times I never told the trainers or coaches about headaches or other issues. There was at least one or two times that I am almost damn certain I had a concussion, never told a soul. I wasn't about to even risk being pulled out of practice or a game for a week or more because of a concussion, and this was only regular old high school football. So players lying about or never telling anyone about concussions in the NFL, I'd bet probably every single NFL player has done it at least once.
Well, and today, with as much attention as concussions are getting you probably can't claim ignorance -- but five, ten years ago, who knew what a concussion was, and what all the symptoms were? I went headfirst into a concrete wall, and blacked out for a moment. Looking back: pretty sure that was a concussion. But I wasn't checked out because other than my bell being run, I was okay.
Concussions are a major problem, but like most things, we've cranked it to 11 and have probably not given much thought to why.
I think the Dolphins have a chance to surprise some people this year (ie 8-9 wins and maybe sneak into the playoffs) IF David Garrard has a good year. I've always felt he was underrated as a QB and the early reports are good. Chad Johnson looks like he has something left in the tank. I had my doubts but I think he will probably contribute this year. He certainly won't be an all-pro but it looks like he's not completely useless like last year. Maybe 40+ catches. The WR corp still scares me and the right side of the OL is a question mark but I think they will be more like the second half team last year than the 0-7 losers at the beginning. I'd like another pass rusher outside of Wake to emerge. He's the only threat on their team. The switch to the 4-3 may help as a lot of the 3-4 DEs they had were natural 4-3 DTs.
Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin extended 3-years through 2016

Definitely love this move.

Panthers C Ryan Kalil took an ad out in today's Observer saying the Panthers will win this season's Super Bowl.
Well, you have to appreciate his passion, however misguided it is.
I gotta respect him for having the balls, even as stupid as he will look when they aren't even sniffing the playoffs.
As a fan of the Redskins and watching them bumble through ~20 years of mediocrity, having a player write something as eloquent as what he wrote with as much passion as it contains would make me think good things are happening on my football team.
I don't know about that. On paper the NFC South is a strong division but the Bucs are unproven, who knows what will happen with the Saints after all the bounty scandal, and the Falcons have an uncanny ability for blowing their opportunities. If Newton can repeat what he did last year they will be an interesting story. Now do I think they will make the playoffs or win the SB... no. But never say never.
Atlanta is due as far as Matt Ryan can take them...which so far has been to 1st round exits of the playoffs.
Tampa can't seem to get it right and I don't expect they will this season with a 1st year head coach.
New Orleans..though they still have Drew Brees and a bevy of talent on the field...kind of hard to replace both the HC and Vitt (forgot what position he held believe OC) at the same time. Not to mention the other suspensions.
I totally agree about Matt Ryan. Matty Ice is not an appropriate nickname for him. He has to step up if Atlanta is expected to get further.
As for Brees, there was a great article on NFL.com that talked about how the OC in New Orleans took on a lot of responsibility when Payton got hurt last year and has worked with Brees since 2002. He didn't think the offense would suffer at all.

Steeler's slap Wallace in the face by signing Antonio Brown to a huge deal! 5 years 42.5 million.
There's still plenty of cap space for Wallace. He just has to sign his tender and show up. Until then, no negotiations. Emmanuel Sanders and Keenan Lewis both said they expect that to happen next week. We'll see.

More lowballing from the Steeler front office. Give a dude that doesn't deserve it the money all the while you piss off the dude who has been the best WR since Hines Ward on the team. :smh:
Boy, that's way off, mors. Brown is a more complete receiver. Runs better routes, catches the ball all over the field, has much better hands, and is the first player in league history to have 1k receiving and 1k returning in a season.
The Steelers haven't lowballed anyone. The just don't negotiate with holdouts. You may think it's dumb, but they are the winningest franchise in the Super Bowl era, as well as the winningest since Free Agency began. They know what they're doing, and it works.
Wallace will get signed, if and when he reports for camp. The need him too. They will lock him up long term, unless he's a moron.

They usually don't negotiate once the season starts either.
And Brown is the better complete WR. Wallace's production tailed off near the end a bit. But Brown's did not. He goes over the middle down field and has a great set of hands. I remember Coach Tomlin raving about him last off season saying how much work he put in and he expected him to have a great year. He did, showed up to work on time, didn't complain and got his deal.
Wallace should know this is the Steelers MO. He will get his deal but it won't be by the way he is handling it now.
So, looks like the Brownie bitches are about to be owned by a Steelers fan. Too fucking funny.
Actually, the Steelers DO NOT negotiate once the season starts (not just "usually").
I'm more than certain that Wallace and Bus Cook know how the Steelers operate. From here, Wallace will just show up when he feels he's missed enough camp, or he'll show up in Week 11 to get his accrued season so he can be a UFA next year.
From what his teammates are saying, he'll be in camp soon. We'll see.

Skip well said. Wallace needs to strap on the pads and get his ass to camp. He is only hurting himself right now in the long term.
And that's utterly ridiculous and BAD operation standards in my opinion. The dude has one chance to get paid before he's hit the time where it's all downhill and he wants to get as much money as his play deserves. If the Steelers don't give him Top 5 WR pay, I can GUARANTEE you some other team will because he most definitely deserves it.
Every team in the league had a shot at him during the RFA period for the price of a first rounder. A few of the teams needing a WR had 2 number ones and alot of cap room. No one gave him a sniff.
Your GUARANTEES are almost ALWAYS wrong, lol. The Steelers know what they're doing.

I'm a Steelers fan. Love Mike Wallace. But he is not a top 5 WR IMO. He's lost it if he thinks he can or will get Fitzgerald money.
Larry Fitzgerald
Calvin Johnson
Andre Johnson
Greg Jennings
You could add (Bowe, Austin, etc)
In no order and I'm probably forgetting someone but Wallace isn't there yet.
