Yeah, here lately they've been on sale practically every day. That's what has been tempting before I finally caved. I'm hoping that maybe that signifies a permanent drop to where they'll be more comparable to HDDs in the near future.

Anyone besides me have killing floor? I think IOU has it what do you think? I thought it was pretty damn entertaining wish it was on 360 or I need to get a controller for my PC but entertaing none the less.
I have it but got really bored with it. I played it with my clan and they had played much more than me so it just became me standing around shooting whatever small demons made it through or re-sealing a door or some other small task. I then played it solo and it was OK but not something I would want to spend much time with.
Anyone interested by either Natural Selection 2 or Primal Carnage? They both recently released and I'm majorly intrigued by both of them, especially Primal Carnage. I'm having a little trouble pulling the trigger though since there's virtually zero reviews so far. I'd imagine it would be quite hard to balance out dinosaurs vs humans, which is the main reason I'm hesitant.
I would be if my interest in competitive shooters wasn't non-existent at the moment. I'm just so sick of playing games with people right now, I'd be hard pressed to find much interest in either.
I saw it on steam and was interested for about 20 min but couldnt get myself to pull the trigger at this moment especially with my holiday gaming list getting so much depth to it.
Anyone want a Primal Fears beta key?
I'm going to post this in several different places so that anyone that could possibly want one will have a chance at it.
Arenanet (creator of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2) is offering a Refer A Friend free trial for three people. The trial starts November 15th and lasts until midnight on the 18th. They'll be available to me to send out to people on the 12th (giving you plenty of time to download the client and everything).
I know most people here aren't too into MMOs, but this one is fuckin' fantastic (been pretty much all I've been playing for 2 months now) and, if you join, I'll create a new character and run around with ya and show ya the ropes. :)
If you want one, just let me know and I'll get you it when it becomes available to me on the 12th. There are only 3, so first come first serve (doubt I'll have to worry about that though).
Prototype 1 + 2 + DLC $7.50 via Amazon
They both activate on Steam.
Also, does anyone want a coupon for 50% off Alan Wake Collector's Edition or 50% off the Goblin Menace DLC for Trine 2? Both are for Steam.

GMG Code GMG35-5BRU6-ZDRX7 applies to:
- Chivalry: Medieval Warfare $16.25
- XCOM: Enemy Unknown $32.50
- Borderlands 2 $34.45
That's temping for XCOM.
Not sure how many other Flight Simmers are out there like me here at TGT, but if you are one of the many nice add-ons I've found is AirHauler. http://www.airhauler.net/
It's a cool company manager type add-on that not only allows you to fly your planes, but you manage the fuel, cargo runs, pilots in your company, planes in your fleet, etc...there are virtual airlines out there that are similar to leagues in NCAA or Madden but the nice thing about AH vs virtual airlines is you earn virtual money and can actually do something with it (i.e. purchase a new airport for expanding your base of operations, purchase/lease new aircraft to increase you range and fleet size, higher new AI pilots, etc...) it's a pretty cool add-on that gives you something extra to do.
JustFlight has it 50% off right now. http://www.justflight.com/product/air-hauler-boxed
As far as other great add-ons, I'm a GA (general aircraft) guy first. The big iron planes like the Boeing 737, 747, Airbus, etc are fun to fly but they are more about flight planning, flight management system programming and then once you take off you let the autopilot take over it pretty does everything for you and then you take over to land. This is how they do it in real life for the most part, but it can be "less interesting". This is why I like the smaller planes, i.e. Cessna 172, Piper Archer, etc...smaller planes that may not even have an autopilot system. Some do have them but a lot don't and you have to hand fly the plane either visually or through your instruments and tuning your radios (IFR).
I picked up these controls last year and it's been pretty damn fun! http://www.sportys.com/source/images...rge/16797a.jpg That's not my desk just an image I found online of the product. It includes the yoke, rudder pedals w/ toe brakes, throttle quad w/ extra programmable buttons (i.e lights, gear, flaps, etc) and trim wheel.
I also picked up this little gem http://www.rogerdodger.net/diyflight..._keyboard.html it looks pretty damn professional once it's all said and done, my wife saw the keyboard (picked up a cheap one at walmart for around $10) and said, wow that looks store bought! I smiled, it was easy to make once you had the template and materials list.
This is my lastest toy that is on order should be here soon it's called TrackIR.

Just bought this game. Looks fun as hell:

Since Amazon has Dishonored for $25, I'm hoping Steam matches that price. If Amazon had it as a downloadable title, I'd get it now but they're only offering the physical copy.
I came across the game PORT ROYALE 3. I was about to download it onto my laptop when I noticed it was also on PS3. It's an awesome game and it's from the makers of the Tropico series. Basically the game is 99.9% the same from PC to console which is really cool to see. I love economic/trading/casual military games such as this Tropico, Civilization, etc. I'm glad to see Kalypso media made a cross platform game. I hope other game companies will follow suit. I forgot how much fun it is to play a cpu sim style game ON CONSOLE. Anyone else played this game?
I might be joining you guys in this discussion more. Got a new rig on Black Friday $700:
Dell XPS 8500
Intel i7-3770 3.40 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.90 GHz
8GB DDR3 SDRAM AT 1600MHZ-2x4GB
AMD Radeon HD 7570 1GB GDDR5 for Win 8
1TB SATA Hard Drive 7200 RPM
XPS 8500, Black Chassis w/19:1 media card reader
Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0+LE
Not bad at all, but, sadly, you could have built that from parts for half that price. ;)
Actually, worse than that, you got kinda screwed because that computer basically has onboard video, which is atrocious for video games.
Yeah... I told him he'll want to upgrade that video card as a first measure. That said, my research says that the 7570 is equivalent to the GeForce 9800 which was a hell of a card for it's time. I had that a couple years ago and could run most games without any issue, though I would have to tweak with the settings in most cases. That said, the processor itself will help out in a lot of games on it's own. He won't be running Skyrim at max settings but he'll be able to play GTAIV, DayZ, etc. at fairly high settings.
Speaking for me personally, I jumped on the Spectre 32" 1080p TV from Newegg to use as my primary monitor for $200. It will be overkill, but I'll love it in the process. I was wanting to find a 27" but practically all of those were more expensive... I figure what the hell, I can scoot my chair further back if needed :)
You're going to go blind :D
Yeah I'm going to upgrade the video card at tax time most likely. The only game I'm really wanting to play at this point on PC is DayZ. But wanted a lot more processing power for making videos.
So since I'm so far out of the PC gaming community...what's a good way to control the games? Get a controller? Mouse & Keyboard?

A physical card with 1 GB of GDDR5 is "basically onboard video" now? Man, things have changed in the PC market. Glad I'm done with it, after all. I miss EVE, but keeping up with the Joneses is tough.
( Yes, I know 1 GB is a small amount now. It's just amazing how things have changed. )
Looking, you actually can't even purchase a 7000 series card below 7750 (both newegg & pricewatch). You can find a 6570 for $45 after MiR on newegg and it has 1GB as well.
Also of note, you can buy a 1GB physical card for as low was $20 after MiR or a 2GB for $40... anymore, memory with a graphics card isn't important, it's the GPU with it.
Yeah, I knew that.
I noticed that too. I sat on that post for a little while, trying to confirm that the 7570 was actually a card and not actually onboard graphics.
Just for perspective, the last time I had a working PC with a working graphics card was around 3 years ago. I believe my last card was a nVidia 8800GTS (or maybe that was just my last working card). My current laptop has 1 GB of RAM and my last working desktop (used only for browsing and the occasional spreadsheet) had less than 512 MB of RAM.
I'm fully aware those two machines are absolute crap. They're crap because I'm saving money until I can actually afford to spend it. But they are valuable for perspective, when JB's GPU has more RAM than a whole desktop I was using. It's just amazing how things have changed, where a 1GB dedicated card is barely better than on-board.
That's not enthusiast at all Jeff. You could build a PC with 16 gigs of RAM, a 2.5 gig Video card, a 2 TB HD, and a processor that's better than what Tommy and I have right now (AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz) for $500, easily. PC's aren't expensive if you build them yourself (as I'm sure you know).
Personally, I need to upgrade the RAM in my computer because I went cheap and only got 4 gigs worth and I can tell it's bottlenecking my performance. Though, while I'm at it, I'll probably upgrade my video card as well since it's a bit on the low side as well (currently Geforce GTX 460 Fermi).
First thing I'll do is get Arma II to play DayZ
Okay, so Arma II is definitely one get. What else should I get that is a PC only (not on console) title? Guild Wars II?
You better have tons of time if you want something like Guild Wars. I'd recommend Diablo 3 if you like dungeon crawlers, but it's back up to full price after being $10 at the Microsoft Store a few days ago. Planetside 2 just released on Steam and is free and very good. Amnesia is another good one if you like psychological horror.
If your card has PhysX support, Borderlands 2. The effects are awesome.
I've never played Diablo. I might try to get I & II and give them a whirl.
I definitely want to get the new Sim City too.
