Can you jump with a Stryder?
Also how do you choose which side you want in replaying the campaign?

And what's the difference between Attrition and Pilot Hunter? :D
Sent from my DROID RAZR Maxx since I'm too lazy to get to the CPU.
I think you actually can in Capture the Flag. In other modes, no, you can not jump with any other Titan. I'm not sure about Capture the Flag, but I think I've read that you can in that mode.
Search for a match and pray. Currently no way to specifically pick a side.
In Attrition, getting kills against the grunts and other AI takes off time required to get your Titan and also even counts towards the scoreboard. In Pilot Hunter, which is basically the exact same thing as Attrition, you do NOT get points for killing the AI and they do NOT count towards taking time off the time required for your Titan. Only landing Pilot and Titan kills counts for points in Pilot Hunter.
Anyone around in about 15 minutes?

Saw your message on Live from last night. Sorry man, I had fallen asleep. My sleep cycle has been uber-fucked up since last week, waking up at midnight or 1am, sitting up all day and falling asleep from exhaustion by 4 or 5pm. I was awake until around 7pm last night, but was watching TV, didn't even realize my One was still on. Thankfully I got a full night's sleep though. I momentarily woke up around 1am, but was able to roll back over and sleep until 7am this morning.
So I should be good for some Titanfall ass whooping tonight, as I've only been awake for four hours now instead of the 10 or 11 hours that I had been the last couple days. Just make another post on here or shoot me another message on Live, and I'll jump into some Titanfall with you.
I won't be home tonight :D
Got up to level 25 last night.
Naturally. :D
Well, I should be around most nights this week. This time of year, with HS football and basketball long over, it's just daytime stuff from here on out through August. So I'm home and around every night in the evening.
So I'm doing the spreadsheet thing to keep track of wins with IMF and Militia :D according to the acheivement, I'm 7/9 for Militia, but I have no idea which two I need, but I got on a good team last night and knocked out the first three there. It seems like I'm never on IMF since I completed both campaigns.
That's funny, IOU could never get on Militia. I had one or two Militia campaign missions to finish, but as party leader he kept getting thrown on IMC. I tried party leader and first mission we end up on Militia. :D
Honestly, if you're anything like me and IOU, you'll end up playing every campaign mission, both as IMC and Militia, about 50 times over. I've played campaign missions (ANY campaign mission, either side) probably a good 100-150 times now. I've played straight up classic multiplayer Attrition games maybe 20 or 30. I don't know why, but I actually sort of enjoy playing the campaign missions over that of just standard classic multiplayer.
Played 4 hours last night 100% focusing on getting gooser kills for the Generation 5 challenge. 2/50. :fp:
In reality, it should probably be around 20. There's something messed up with the hit detection when they're in the air. I've tried aiming right at 'em, and I've even tried leading them a bit, and nothing seems to do the trick. I'd like to earn all 50 before they patched it to 5, but I'm pretty certain I'm not going to have nearly enough time for that. :D
4/50. Making progress. :fp:
7/50 now. I've got 1 in 4 matches in a row now. I'm missing so many opportunities, though. I have the hardest time to get my bullets to register hits when they're up there floating around.
Capture the Flag sucks.
I like LTS. Pilot Hunter is ok.
Attrition and Hardpoint are my favorites.
On 16/50 now. Honestly, this challenge is just ridiculous.
1. You can't do it in Last Titan Standing (fucking awful mode, by the way). Everyone just camps back with their particle shields and try to take you out from afar with the 40mm cannon.
2. You have to try just regular modes and you're stuck with random selection of teammates. While doing this, I've seen NUMEROUS occasions where the other team had 4+ titans on the battlefield the entire match. If that's the case, you might as well not even drop your titan.
3. Hit detection in air is just absolutely fucking awful.
4. 90% of the people playing immediately go invisible upon ejecting and if you're in a titan, they are 100% invisible.
One more map on Pilot Hunter if my tracking spreadsheet is right, and I'll have the I've Seen it All achievement. Then, I can work on the everything unlocked one.
I've seen that about 50/50 with others traveling as a group and trying to swarm 1-2 opponents at a time. So one game where all of them stayed back, 2 with the railguns and the other 4 with other guns.Quote:

28/50 now. I've been doing Last Titan Standing, which I've changed my mind on. It's AWESOME for goose kills...if your team doesn't suck. If they roll as a team, you get numerous opportunities per game to get goose kills. I've basically been joining matches and if the team isn't up to the job, quitting out until I find a good one.
I tried doing campaign to get noobs, which is probably the best idea if it weren't for the fact that most of the use the default load out, which makes them invisible when they eject. I got most of my kills that way yesterday, but I've found today's method in Last Titan Standing to be MUCH more efficient.
...and gen 5 is done. Finished off the Gooser kills a few days ago and ended up getting the remaining 20 or so in only 4 or 5 games. I thought the "doom 50 titans with the arc cannon would be a pain," but it only took me 5 hours or so the last 2 days to get all of those. Really glad I was able to get those goose kills, though. I actually got really got at 'em and have no problem taking them out now. Got a couple nice ones while I was using the arc cannon even.
That's some dedicated shit, OU.
I like the arc cannon. Been chewing up Titans tonight with it.
Finished the I've Seen It All achievement last night.
Working on unlocking everything to get that achievement.
I'm guessing the reason I've been doing much better tonight is that they instituted the matchmaking tweaks from the matchmaking beta they were running to Attrition and Hardpoint in Classic mode. Was tearing things up with the SMG and the shotgun.
Yeah, I never liked the arc cannon before, but it grew on me. I didn't like it until I unlocked the mod that does extra damage, but requires a full charge before it can be fired. That mod alone turns it into a pretty decent weapon. Combined with the cluster missile and a couple teammates laying down fire, it rips right through titans. Makes for awesome gooser kills, too.
I like using the electric smoke with it also, as you can get some concealment to charge it up and get heavy damage while the other flails around looking for you.
In gen 6 you have to get 50 titan kills by rodeo'ing them. :D :fp:
Jesus

I'm on 8 so far and have only been trying about an hour. I realized there's a AI controlled titan at the very beginning of the first campaign mission, so I've just been sprinting over there and taking his ass out. :D
Damn, that'll be an easy one for me. I rodeo Titans every single chance I get! I'm probably over 25 by now and I have yet to even gen up once.
So uh, I may have been a little quick to judge the triple threat titan weapon. I have to use it for the generation 6 challenges, and it's a beast. Just posted an 18 kill, 2 death, 9 titan doomed, and 41 minion kills for 145 attrition points using it. It's stupid how overpowered it is.
Done with generation 6. Took me awhile to get all those rodeo kills. You have to doom them while on them and then you have to stay on them until they either explode or the pilot ejects. I had countless times where I doomed the titan and instead of ejecting, the pilot just hopped out and shot me. None of 'em counted.
Generation 7 challenges look just stupid easy. 200 overall and 75 pilot kills with the G2A4. I don't like the gun, but that wont be too awful. Kill 200 enemies and 50 titans with the chain gun, which is easy since it's my preferred titan weapon anyway. Doom 10 titans with the charge rifle. Awful gun, but not hard at all to get 10. Then execute 25 enemies with the Stryder. Again, it's the titan I use and I do that every chance I get, so no problem there.
I just started using that to do the unlocks............have you found any tips with it? I've gotten some quick kills, better than using the DMR for my style of play, but you are at a disadvantage IMO for most situations. Pretty much have to stay outside and not get into a ROF battle with someone.Quote:
G2A4[
Yeah, I tend to stay away from those weapons. When everyone is using R-101C Carbines, EVA-8 Shotguns, C.A.R. SMGs, R-97 Compact SMGs, you had better be either unholy accurate or far, far out of the action or you're a sitting duck against those weapons. Since I'm one who prefers to be in the middle of the action, flanking pilots, getting close enough to execute pilots, and jumping on enemy Titans to rodeo them and doom/destroy them, I would never have the patience or proper strategy to use the G2A4, Longbow DMR or Kraber-AP.
What Smooth said. The EVA-8 is crazy brutal. My best kill streaks have been with that one. I like the R-101, but my overall most useful gun has been the CAR. The R-97 is pretty good, I just like having a little more versatility.
Yeah, I mainly use the R-101C and the CAR, predominantly the CAR. I have used the shotgun a bit, mostly when I have a card for the Shotgun, and yeah, that thing is just a beast. I can't even begin to count how many times I've been raped with a single near range shotgun blast in a match. The shotgun and the CAR seem to be the top two weapons that enemies kill me with in matches.
I'll probably use it the same way I used the Longbow. It's basically the same thing except it shoots a little faster and does a little less damage. I didn't really change all that much, I was still running around and trying to surprise people. It's probably smarter to play slow with the weapon, but honestly, I'm a firm believer that if you play slow in this game, you're going to get owned regardless of the weapon, so I just try to stay on the move and pick people off from a distance.
People tend to think weapons like the Longbow and G2A4 suck in close quarters, but as long as you're quick to the trigger, it does just as well as the assault rifles and SMGs, IMO.
That is exactly my thought on the game. You cannot sit up in one place for long. Pick someone off and have to move somewhere else.Quote:

They suck if you aren't a twitcher that can aim well quickly. ;)Quote:

4/10/2014 Patch Update Details
NEW FEATURES (All Platforms)
Private Match (beta) - This is the first public test of our new Private Match mode. This gives you a way to organize matches with and against your friends, for casual or tournament play. Some features are unfinished or not yet implemented, and we welcome your feedback. A few highlights:
• Private Match supports 2 to 12 players, with 1 to 6 players on each team.
• You can start a new Private Match lobby by choosing it on the main selection screen (alongside Campaign, MP, and Training). Invite your friends in or have them join you at any time.
• Choose any of the game's maps or modes (CTF, Pilot Hunter, etc.) to play in.
• Choose which team you're on.
• There is no XP gain, challenge progress, or achievement unlocking while in a Private Match. For this beta, the Last Game Summary screen will display what you would have earned in normal play outside of Private Match, but be aware that this progress will not be recorded to your lifetime total.
• For this beta, there is no concept of a "lobby leader"; any player can change game options in the lobby or start/stop the match countdown.
• All Private Match games are still played on dedicated servers via Xbox Live Cloud Compute, just like normal matches.
• New options like round time, score limits, and much more will come in future updates.
Party Colors - Your party members and their titans now show up on the mini-map with green colors, instead of the normal blue colors that other friendlies use. Their names are also drawn in green on your HUD, the obituary text, and in the pre-game lobby. This helps you figure out where your friends are and what they're up to, especially in the heat of combat.
Auto-Titan Color in Obituary - Your auto-titan's name now shows up in the obituary with the gold color that your own name does. Previously it had the same blue color as any other friendly. This makes it easier to keep tabs on how your titan is doing.
Removed Wall-hack Exploit - PC cheaters were able to modify their local configuration files to enable a sort of wall-hack cheat using legit game code. We've closed the exploit that they were using.
Menu Changes - "Play Multiplayer" is now the default (top) option on the private lobby menu, if you've completed both the IMC and Militia campaigns. It has also been renamed from "Play Classic", since the term "classic", which we used internally, proved to be confusing to some players.
Game Version on Main Menu - The main menu now displays the game's version in the bottom-left corner. Now you don't have to wonder if you really do have the latest version of the game, and we can use that to double-check things if support is helping you troubleshoot issues.
NEW FEATURES (Xbox One)
Party App Shortcut in Menus - Added a shortcut on all menus that opens the Xbox One's "Party" app by pressing Left Trigger on the controller, similar to the existing Right Trigger shortcut that invites friends. You can then press 'B' to close it when you're done, or leave it up. (This is much easier than the manual method of going to the Home screen, opening "My games & apps", selecting Apps, scrolling a few screens over to the "Party" app, and opening it.)
GAME BALANCE CHANGES
The Gooser Challenge - Based on recent feedback from fans of the game, the Gen 5 challenge requirement 'Gooser', requiring players to kill 50 ejecting pilots, will be reduced to 5 total. We had a couple of design goals for Regeneration. One was to give players a structured way to discover and experience ways of playing the game they might not have otherwise tried on their own. The second was to recognize players' mastery of various skills, going beyond just 'time played'. We went a bit too far with this challenge, especially considering the unique conditions that have to be met just to have the opportunity to get a kill on an ejecting Pilot. We understand some players have already completed the challenge, or have already earned more than the new requirement so we will be internally noting those players so we can recognize their accomplishments in a future game update.
40mm magazine capacity for default and Extended Mag – The default magazine size was making the 40mm too powerful. It is intended to be the only weapon that can take a Titan down without reloading, if used skillfully. However, 20 rounds per magazine were proving to be too high and overly tolerant of indiscriminate fire. We’ve reduced it to 12 rounds per magazine, which still allows players to take a Titan down without reloading, but helps balance it out against other Titan weapons. The extended mag has also been dropped from 25 to 16, with the same design principles applying to this change.
Titan Quad Rocket mag size change – During development, there was a time when the Quad Rocket was too powerful. We made a lot of changes to pull it back before shipping (lessened the screen shake impact, lessened the duration of the first person impact FX, lowered the magazine size, pulled the damage back, etc.) It currently can struggle against other Titan weapons and going back to the 5/6 (default/extended mag) magazine sizes helps balance the weapon and allows players to miss a few shots and still be effective. It was 4/5, now its 5/6.
Titan Quad Rocket damage vs Titan shields – It was taking too long to drop a Titans shields with the Quad Rocket (5 shots). This meant you had to reload before you could even drop an enemy Titan’s shields. This was the only Titan weapon that had this issue. We’ve now upped the damage against Titan shields so that it can drop a shield with 4 shots. Combined with the increased mag size, this damage increase effectively gives you one more volley in the mag to deal serious direct hull damage.
Titan Quad Rocket 'Rapid Fire' Mod's mag size change – We upped the magazine size for the Quad Rocket's Rapid Fire Mod to help it compete with the changes made to the extended magazine (from 5 to 6). The Rapid Fire Mod’s magazine size is going up from 16 to 18.
Amped Kraber Titan damage change – We upped the damage that the Amped Kraber Burn Card does to Titans. It is now the only significantly effective “small arms” weapon against Titans. Note that this only applies to the Amped version of the Kraber. The damage goes up from 100 to 800. We added this to give the Kraber Burn Card a little bit more character, as well as to give you something to shoot if you have a hard time hitting those little Pilots with the Kraber. So snipe away at those Titans…before they kill you!
Hardpoint Domination scoring changes – We wanted to reward and encourage players to go out and capture enemy hardpoints. As important as defending a hardpoint is, capturing them is more important and a tougher task, generally speaking. We did not want to completely remove points for defending, but attacking players were getting too little credit for their efforts. Here is a breakdown of the changes:
• Capturing a hardpoint from 150 to 250
• Assisting in capturing a hardpoint from 75 to 100
• Neutralizing a hardpoint from 50 to 150
• Assisting in neutralizing a hardpoint from 25 to 75
• Killing a player inside an enemy hardpoint from outside (nearby) from 75 to 50
• Killing a player inside an enemy hardpoint from outside (far) from 75 to 50
• Killing a player inside an enemy hardpoint from inside the hardpoint from 75 to 50
• Killing an NPC inside an enemy hardpoint from inside the hardpoint from 25 to 10
• Killing a player outside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from 75 to 50
• Killing a player inside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from 75 to 50
• Killing an NPC outside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from 25 to 10
• Killing an NPC inside of a friendly hardpoint whilst inside of a hardpoint from 25 to 10
• Defending a hardpoint now goes from 75 to 25
CTF scoring changes – We wanted to make sure the big payoff in CTF came from capturing the flag. Killing the carrier and then returning the flag was worth 400 points (combined), while capturing the flag was worth 500 points in comparison. These changes are meant to reward players who capture the flag a bit more than those who kill the carrier and return the flag. Defense is still a very important aspect of CTF so we wanted to make sure to keep defending points high enough to still encourage playing defense. Here is a breakdown of the changes:
• Capturing a flag from 500 to 400
• Returning the flag from 250 to 100
• Killing the flag carrier from 150 to 100

Regarding the Gooser "we went a bit too far with this challenge".
Trust me, we heard it from IoU :D
Honestly, it's really not that bad. The first 19 took me probably 15 hours. Once I figured out the best way to do it, I did the last 31 in maybe 5 hours. I do think 50 is way over the top, though, simply because it's not a situation that occurs all that often. The vast majority of people go invisible when they eject, which makes it damn near impossible to pick them off while they're still in the air.
Oh well, I'm done with it so I don't care how many they make the requirement for. :D
On another note, I've already put up 12,000+ kills, something I haven't done in a FPS since Modern Warfare 2 or MAG, can't remember which came last. I hit 20,000 kills in both of those, and I'm quite sure I'll have no problem hitting that number in Titanfall. I'm almost done with the 7th generation and I'm not even close to being burned out on it. Absolutely amazing game. I really hope the sequel comes to PS4 so more people can enjoy it. It's better than Call of Duty in every conceivable way and I feel like every one deserves a chance to experience it.
Can you go back to Gen 1 after finishing 10 and do it all over again?
