It's time :))
Eh, I probably won't be watching any of the games as I have a 'Skins preseason game to watch instead.
Really, almost all of the games tonight suck. I'll be watching North Texas-Florida International on ESPN3, and will DVR UMass-Holy Cross since I need to go up to work tonight, and the later I take to go, in the longer into the night I have to sit up there, and I can't say I feel like sitting at work until 3 or 4am.
Overall, really a disappointing opening night. :smh:
Can't wait for tomorrow.
There are some interesting matchups today. Especially FBC vs FCS
You have Villanova which made the Semis of last years playoffs against a Temple team that had a winning season. Last year Temple only won this game by 7.
Montana State beat Colorado a few years ago and they were fairly descent last year so Utah better be on it's toes.
Meh, Wisconsin's going to bitch slap UNLV. I'd rather watch games that are going to be close or have a chance to be close, than watch blowouts. Which is why 95% of the games this weekend I'm not even going to bother watching. They're all going to be 30-50 point blowouts because the BCS conference teams are a bunch of fucking pussies who don't have the fucking balls to play a team worth a fuck, but instead schedule FCS teams or the suck-ass lower tier FBS teams.
I think the Nova bs Temple game will be interesting.
I'm also intrigued to watch Russell Wilson as well.
If for nothing else it is COLLEGE FOOTBALL season!!!!
Never forget (I know they were not a low-tier FBS team but all of Michigan treated them that way). Also James Madison was an average team last year but they beat VT.

Also it appears they did not learn their lesson

Well yeah, there's going to be an upset here and there. But for the most part 95% of those games are going to be 30-50 point blowouts. Right now, there are only about 7 or 8 games this entire weekend, from tonight through Monday night that I have any interest in actually sitting down and watching.
Finally, time for my second most anticipated game of this weekend. North Texas at Florida International. Thank god, the ESPN app on Xbox Live is still working for me, so I can watch it in 37" HDTV goodness rather than on a 19" laptop screen.
And the DVR is set to record UMass-Holy Cross at 8pm, so I'll have something to watch when I got home in the middle of the night sometime from work.
Son of a bitch. North Texas-FIU is in a weather delay. :fp: I guess New Hampshire-Toledo will do for now. :(
Damn FIU has a hell of a team this year. T.Y. Hilton took the opening kickoff 62 yards down to the North Texas 29 yard line, then they needed just 4 plays from scrimmage to find the end zone and go up just a minute and 40 seconds into the game.
I wish they could have scheduled a game between two relevant schools tonight.
Jesus T.Y. Hilton is explosive! 62 yard kickoff return on the opening kickoff down to the North Texas 29. Then after the FIU defense stopped North Texas on 4th down, on the first play on offense Hilton hauls in a 60 yard touchdown pass to put the Golden Panthers up 14-0 in just 5 offensive plays. :D
Yep... T.Y. Hilton is very solid but without him, FIU would be a SBC cellar dweller.
Sadly you may be right. Wesley Carroll does a solid job at QB, and Darriet Perry is a beast at HB, but this FIU team would not be the same without the explosiveness of T.Y. Hilton.
Hopefully they can win the Sun Belt outright this year instead of sharing it, and send Carroll, Perry, Hilton and the rest out on top. Troy's won or shared the title every year since 2006. Someone needs to put an end to it. :D
Alright, how the hell was I not able to beat North Texas in the first season of my FIU dynasty? :fp: These guys are just steamrolling NT right now. 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter, and Hilton already has 149 all-purpose yards. Perry and Kedrick Rhodes are just tearing up North Texas on the ground. I'm ashamed of losing that game right now.
Damn, there goes the shutout. :(
Oh yeah, I know all about Dunbar. :D He abused me (well, my CPU defense I suppose) in my dynasty.
And yeah, since adopting FIU as a team that I'm a fan of, I'm still trying to learn all the Sun Belt teams in real life. I know them in the game, but since real life plays a lot differently than NCAA 12, it's sort of like starting new right now. I know about Sun Belt basketball since I've been a fan of the Denver Pioneers in college basketball for years now, but pretty much new to the football side of the conference.
wisconsin hasnt lost a beat from last year. they're looking scary good against unlv. looks can be deceiving though.
It is UNLV though. I don't know anyone, at least amongst friends and co-workers, who actually thought this game would be closer than 30 points. Doesn't surprise me in the least.
On a separate note, great win tonight for Florida International! A great win to start the year and build some early momentum. Now just need Navy to come through on Saturday, and it's a perfect weekend for me.
Kentucky & WKU having a competition to see who can suck worse. Kentucky only 75 total yards with about 13 minutes left in the game. WKU is the same team as last year... great runningback but nobody around him. If Kentucky had a QB, they'd be up by 2-3 touchdowns.
Looks like the Holy Cross vs UMass game was a good one. Disappointed I didn't watch it after all.
Louisville only beats Murrey State 21-9. That's atrocious.
Syracuse pulls off the win in OT over Wake Forest with a TD and then holds Wake Forest out for the win.
Wish Time Warner here had Altitude so I could see the renovated Kibbie Dome.
Yeah, I have a lot to catch up on. Now that I know for sure which games suck and which are good, I'll have to watch Kentucky-Western Kentucky, Syracuse-Wake Forest, and watch the Holy Cross-UMass game that is currently sitting on my DVR at home.
Okay kids we finally get us some football tonight.

Whoops, forgot to set the DVR.
Oh well. Too late now.
So for those of you that went through the 120 team nickname quiz... did you guys at least know that Arkansas State is an FBS school? This dumbass writer didn't.
http://www.hailtotheorange.com/2011/9/2/2399263/illinois-fighting-illini-arkansas-state-preview-the-2011-season-begins
It's one thing to be an ignorant fan, I can accept that, but to be a supposed writer (even for a blog site), and not know what schools are FBS, you should hang yourself with the cord from your keyboard. I honestly give us a 40% chance of beating them outright look at Indiana, Iowa, Texas A&M, & Texas over the last four seasons... it's certainly possible, especially with our offense and a new aggressive defense. And if that happens, I will go to his site and laugh at his ass to no end.
Not only is he wrong he acts like a complete dick while doing so.Quote:
As is tradition around here, the preview for the FCS game will be an elitist one, where I really don't analyze the opponent with any real intensity. Sue me, but if we actually have to worry about any of the match ups against an FCS team, then we are doomed anyway. (Besides, you can't get FCS teams to play against in NCAA on the Xbox.)
P.S. Could be related to RamJackson dude who posts here? :P
Game time
Rooting for Baylor in this one. Nothing against TCU, just want to see the upset and win for the Big 12.
Thanks ESPN hiring another moderately hot sideline reporter that does not actually sound like a man.
Damn, TCU defense is soft.
Missed XP could come back to haunt the Frogs.
Just happy to see some offense after watching that Kentucky/W Kentucky game last night.
Also, I'd be surprised if TCU gave up another TD so easily this game. Baylor has talent on offense, but TCU's defense is straight up nasty, even if they lost like half their starters to graduation last year.
