Thanks to Freedom of Information Act requests, Matt Brown and his Extra Points blog have provided some early information on the development of EA SPORTS College Football.
Most notably, the company is still telling schools that "
game development is in full swing, and the launch goal remains summer of 2023."
Per a memo dated February of this year, the development team has been gathering stadium assets and is also looking for obtaining music assets from schools. This includes band songs, crowd chants, cheers, and also when the particular audio is played during the game. In that same memo, the Collegiate Licensing Company stated that "
nearly 120 institutions, athletic conferences and bowl games" have "
conceptually approved participation," per Brown.
