Has anyone bought a controller recently? Such as the anniversary one or just a new replacement?

Are they any different than the launch ones i.e. better build of the sticks?

The main question I have is the battery life better? I found a thread here - http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/691087-playstation-4/71134849 and it seems like they're better, but I wanted to hear from someone on the site here first.

I only have my one launch controller that came with my PS4.

I have several but I haven't bought one in over a year (August 2014, I think).

I bought one back in August 2014 as well but still haven't opened it yet. Haven't needed to as the one that came with it has held up. I didn't get a PS4 until June of that year also.

I'm wanting to get this one, and if the battery life is indeed better now, that would persuade me to get one quicker.

I was thoroughly dissapointed in the launch controllers! I had a day 1 PS4 and the rubber on both joysticks for each cntroller was ripped within 3-6 months of purchase. Also, one of the controllers is not working very well re: joystick sensitivity.

Long story short, I need to buy a new controller ASAP.

These are great to put on the sticks - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GOOSV98?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

I'm more wondering if the battery life is better on the newer controllers two years later or not.

I found this on Amazon, but curious how uncomfortable it makes holding the controller.

That's what I have on all 5 of mine. I've had to replace one set and another slips off from time to time but they're good.

I decided with good ratings and a $13 price, I'll try one to see if it really works well and if it does I'll get another for the other controller.

I didn't get my ps4 until after more than a year after launch and have had no problem with grips. Battery life is still six hours max with low light. But I have three and rotate them on the charging cord.

I recently picked up a blue controller. I've also heard battery life is better but honestly if it is its negligible. I also put on the GelTabz partially out of fear but also b/c I like how they feel better than the stock sticks.

Same boat for me, I didn't buy my PS4 until they were out for a while, I think I've had my PS4 for maybe 2 years max. I have the controller that came with the machine (black) one blue and one white. I have the energizer charging station and rotate them out. All 3 controllers seem to last around the 6 hour mark.

I haven't bought a new controller in 2015. Sorry doesn't sound like I helped much. The one you showed (white with the PS logo does look sweet!)

Edit: good news, looks like that bad boy is on sale on amazon.com
