I'm taking a wait and see approach to this. It sounds good, but a lot of Kickstarter games have either gone dead before release or bombed if they even made it to release. I'm gonna want to wait and see what this looks like as a finished product first.

Sure it could always be failure and that is why I never spend a dime on kickstarter projects. The video concerns me a bit due to having roughly 10 seconds of gameplay in it. That said it's got the right people behind it. Years away from seeing anything relevant but as a FT13th fan, I need it.

As for the counselors, it will be important to know what their strengths and weaknesses are. I'm guessing that the Girl Next Door will be the best. That's the one that survived in the movies and I heard the devs say that she will not get scared as easily as the others which is obviously big.

I just read in the comments of the first video that I posted yesterday that the Counselor Clothing and Tom Savini-created Jason skin will NOT be available anywhere after the Slasher Backer ends. It's a way of thanking the early backers.

The comment was posted by the guy who made the video so I'd assume it is true. It seems like I remember hearing that from the devs somewhere too, come to think of it.

If you're going to want that DLC, you better grab it before the 8th.

They've added Jason being able to break windows so that trolls can't hop in and out of them in a looping fashion to avoid Jason. If the window is broken, the shards of glass will cut the counselor. If they do it enough times, they'll get wounded enough to slow them and limit their movements.

Second, add long as it's playable I'll be good. Especially when the offline bots are released next Summer. If I can sit on my couch, be Jason and kill teenagers then there's really no reason to ever leave the house again. :D

If it's a massive failure and virtually unplayable it will probably end my days as a gamer.

Have you noticed they have yet to make a blonde female camp-counselor? Jason has a soft spot for them. Almost all the "Final Girls" are blonde. Would have to be the character with the best overall stats for survival. Also, have they mentioned anything about items from the series that counselors could find that would mess with Jason being in the game? Special items you find like mom's light blue sweater? I always liked that it was included in the NES game and gave you a defensive boost.

Since it was in the Virtual Cabin, I would expect Jason's shrine to Pamela from Part 2 to be in the game. However, I doubt (and no mention so far) they'll be any boost for finding it.

As for blondes, yeah, none yet but there are still counselors that haven't been revealed. As for Jason having a soft spot for bitches that killed him - no, lol (I know you're kidding). Just think about what he did to Alice in Part 2 after she killed Pamela. :)

It's only for friends and family members of the devs. I think it may also include Kickstarter backers but I'm not sure. I didn't preorder until the Kickstarter was over and the funding had moved over to Backer kit.

Anyway, there will be a closed Beta before the end of the year for all those who have preordered so I'll get a key for that one (hopefully my computer can play it, I'm not the type of nerd that knows all my specs). :)

I didn't get to play it. My laptop couldn't handle the graphics (no surprise).

There's a TON of YouTube videos of the beta and it looked great. Some wonky physics which should be cleaned up but otherwise it was awesome.

Only played one match last night and got killed fairly quickly. Of course, I was a bit over the limit from having met some friends to watch the Penguins 2OT game 7 win in the Eastern Conference Final.

I think I'm heading to a convention in Dallas today to meet Sean S. Cunningham and the guys from Gun Media. If I do go I'm not staying overnight so I should be back around midnight to play some more.

Got another match in this morning and I played as J3. I killed 4/8 before the match timed out. Lots of fun, I just need to spend some time to get the controls down. I know WHAT to do, I just don't know HOW.

I was able to get two rounds in tonight, both as a counselor.

First time, Jason showed up near me and another player almost immediately. That feeling dread and fear as you watch Jason walk past you while you hide in a closet, hoping he doesn't find you and rather kills the other player nearby making noise, God what a rush!

I lived for a bit, but ultimately ended up being killed first or second as I got injured and was basically a sitting duck. I was laughing while watching the other players. Four of them got the four passenger car running, three got in, the fourth was running up to the car, and the driver basically just said fuck you to the fourth person and drove off and left them behind standing there in the road. :D

That poor bastard left behind lasted about 3 more minutes before Jason slaughtered them.

Second game, another player and I worked to get the 4 passenger car going. He got gas in it, we went hunting for a battery while Jason stalked and killed everyone else. We got trapped on the second floor of a cabin, I had a machete and managed to stun Jason, letting us escape and continue the search. I was able to find a battery and started hauling ass back to the car. By that time, it was just myself, my partner and one other counselor alive, meaning Jason started coming back for us. I got within sight of the car before running out of stamina while carrying the battery, only for Jason to morph behind me and impale me on a tree.

I tried to get into a third match tonight, but I sat there for over 15 minutes waiting on quick play matchmaking and never got back in another match before I had to call it a night since I have work in the morning.

But, I'm already looking forward to hopefully getting some more rounds in tomorrow afternoon.

Oh God yes. When that music kicks in to warn you he's nearby, man the hairs on the back of the neck start to raise.

You know he's close by, but you aren't certain where. Until you turn a corner of "ohmyholymotheroffuckthereheisbehindme!!! Run!!!!" and it's off to the races.

I also enjoy watching the other players after I die. After I got impaled on a tree in that second game, I was watching a player try to swim across a lake (I forget the name of the map) and they got about 20 feet from shore and just stopped, like they thought they were safe or something. Nope. Jason pulled a Jaws on that poor bastard and dragged them down to a watery death.

Despite not having a clue what I was doing when I played my first game of it, it's actually pretty quick to pick up. By the second game, I knew what I had to do, I knew how to defend myself (and thus was able to stun Jason with a machete, while taking no damage from him, and escape and live for at least one or two minutes longer), I knew some of the better ways to try and hide and evade Jason. I haven't gotten to play as Jason yet, so that'll be a learning experience the first time, but at least as a counselor, I'm good for at least a 5-10 minute life depending on if I can avoid being in the same vicinity of Jason for as minimal a time as possible.

After reading that, I will say, I am very happy to hear the amount of players buying and playing this game are beyond what even they were expecting. I'm happy it seems like this has a very solid player base.

It may have growing pains right now, but once they get the issues sorted out, I have no doubt this game is going to be a black hole for my future free time.

I have yet to get in. One game, we got the thing gassed and a battery in, the person with the keys was running for the car, only to get killed right next to it. I was in a nearby cabin, I tried to hide in a closet hoping Jason would go after someone else so I could get in the car, but he came after me right away.

I have managed to escape once as a counselor, we were able to outlast the timer for the cops and ran to safety.

Meanwhile, goddamn playing as Jason is fun! I love hunting down the other players and slowly exterminating them. One map, I was able to stop 5 different people from escaping in cars. I just stood in the road to freedom, swung at the cars with the ax and kept pulling the drivers out and killing them, then chasing down the passengers.

Two people did nearly get away, they got out on the main road and were nearly home free. I map teleported to the main road before them and stood there ready to swing at the car. In an attempt to avoid me, the driver went off to my left, straight into a boulder. :D

The poor driver lasted all of 15 seconds more, the passenger maybe another minute after that.

Last night was a great time. I found a lobby around midnight or so, had at least four of us with mics, we played for 6 damn hours. I refused to leave the lobby while we were still rocking. I wasn't planning on sitting up until 6am, but exigent circumstances applied.

Had a lot of fun, escaped in the 2 seat and 4 seats cars a couple times (I was always the driver so we got away with zero problems), played as Jason a couple times (I'm still perfect, I have never let a counselor escape or survive while I'm Jason), and did a lot of crouching, hiding, running for my life and dying.

An absolute blast last night! Hopefully tonight, if I make it on, I can try to get some games in with guys from here. Steeler was on last night for a bit, and I tried to invite him to the lobby I was in whenever someone left, but I was hesitant to completely back out to the menus to join him because of how much of a pain in the ass it has been to join games the last two days.

Plus worst case, we could always do a private match if the servers are still acting up. We've got three or four of us here, I added two or three people as friends from the group I played with all night, we would then just need to track down a couple extra people for a full lobby.

When the servers get completely leveled out (Gun said they thought they were being generous to allow for 30k people to simultaneously play the game but had nearly 75k in the first 20 minutes after launch which "melted" their database) I will definitely stream some, Bill.

Also, guys, I'm in to play this as a group whenever I'm available. I'm quite biased but I love this fucking game!

Anyone with interest in this game should pick it up. You might want to wait for the servers to be straightened out but get it. It is so much fun. I heard the music that alerts you that Jason is near in my sleep last night. That is exactly how I want to live my life. :D

I was having a blast last night. Got in with a great group of about 5 or 6 of us with mics, seemed to all be friends of the NickZill guy I was running with when we tried to get you guys in with us. We ran until 2am when I had to get off to shower and get ready for work, they were still going and hell, may still be going right now even.

Lot of great games. Most as counselor, some as Jason. During the stretch, I was able to escape to the cops once and escape via car twice. Unfortunately my streak of perfection was broken, I'm no longer batting 1.000 as Jason, as two lucky bastards were able to slip away on me via boat on one of the maps. Other than that my handing out of death was still pretty much perfect the rest of the way.

The last game may have been the most memorable. We were playing on Crystal Lake, four of us were able to quickly get the car going and managed to get in and drive off right before Jason could bash the car. We were able to escape, only for me to instantly end up back in the game as Tommy Jarvis. I remembered hearing someone mention the boat had the propeller on and only needed gas. There was two other people alive, I spawned as Tommy near the boat, so quickly found a gas can and got the boat up and running. By that time, one guy had died.

I made my way over by the restrooms to get the last guy alive, someone from our group we were playing with. Led him to the boat, we got in and were motoring toward freedom, my second escape of the game. We were 10 goddamn feet from successfully escaping, starting to celebrate and laugh as we were home free, when suddenly the boat slammed to a stop, Jason suddenly popped his head up over the side of the boat, rocked it and knocked me into the water and dragged me down to my death, then went back and finished off the other guy.

We were all laughing our asses off in the lobby afterwards. Even the guys who were dead or had escaped were apparently sitting there talking about us being home free to escaping while watching us, only for that sudden death. We all were in instant agreement that would be an awesome movie ending, the final two survivors on their way to freedom in a boat, Jason left behind at the campground, finally breathing their first sighs of relief, the ending of the movie seemingly having arrived, only for Jason to suddenly show up from under water and kill the last two survivors. Damn that would be a great ending!

I had time for one more game before I had to get ready for work, but after that ending, that sudden surprise death just feet away from freedom, that was just too fitting an ending to go for one more game and probably get slaughtered in the first 5 minutes, so I decided to let that be my ultimate death for the night.

God this game is like crack. I have probably already topped over 20 hours of playtime since 10pm Friday night. If I have any free time, I'm on that game. Other games, couldn't care less. TV and a 90% full DVR of shows I need to watch, couldn't care less. I just want to be running around Packanack Lodge, Camp Crystal Lake or Higgins Haven hearing that music get louder and louder as I run for my life.

I managed a double escape last night. First, as the passenger in the two seat car.

I did absolutely nothing to help fix the car and another counselor got left behind because I took their spot.

After the escape, I came back as Tommy. I saw that everyone was near the 4 seat car so I made my way there in time to get in as it was starting. There were 5 counselors so 1 was left without a seat and again I had done nothing to repair the car.

Jason stopped the car. We all got out and were all 5 fighting Jason. He couldn't manage to kill anyone because we were all hitting him from all directions every time one of us was grabbed.

We scattered and then reconvened at the car moments later. Again, I got an undeserved seat in the car but again Jason stopped it.

We scattered again and a couple minutes later I hopped in the car by myself, started it and was prepared to leave all 4 of the others behind. Jason stopped the car once again.

I hopped out and spent the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game being pursued by Jason before the clock ran out giving me a double escape. Great stuff!

Apparently, in all the melee I/we unmasked Jason because at the end of the match I got 50xp for unmasking. In all the frantic scramble I didn't even notice he had been unmasked.

This game is as good as I hoped it would be and I had VERY high hopes. I love it!

I've unmasked Jason once. Playing as Buggsy, I was being chased by Jason, had a machete in my hand and was almost out of stamina and couldn't sprint much longer, so since Buggsy has 10/10 strength, I turned on Jason and smacked the fuck out of him with the machete and knocked his mask off in one blow. Picked it up (and got the achievement for picking his mask up) and ran like hell while he was stunned.

Ome game we were so close to killing Jason. We got his mother's sweater and we knocked his mask off, but we must have messed up the order or something when trying to get him on his knees and kill him.

There is a single player mode that will be patched in in a few months. Not DLC, a patch. It is included in the price. That mode will allow you to play offline in the same game that you play online except you will always be Jason and tv's counselors will be bots. There will also be offline missions where, as Jason, you have to kill so many in so much time or kill them all without being spotted etc. Similar to Hit man.

The team has alot of plans for expansion and wants to do all of it. It comes down to how well the game sells.

Well, lets put it this way, I'm currently level 15 (the last unlockable character, one of the Jasons, is level 32 to unlock) and I am dreaming of this game. I have already unloaded probably over 30 hours into it since Friday. I literally spent from 5pm Monday evening to 3am Tuesday morning (an hour ago as of the time of this post) playing it. It's literally all I did the entire evening. The game is that goddamn addictive. It's like freaking crack. Every game is different, nothing is the same from game to game, and when you're with a lobby full of friends with mics, the jokes, the laughs and the chatter makes it so damn fun.

Yeah, us there are the only guys from TGT I have seen play the game. Anyone on the fence, I absolutely, 10000% suggest you get it. IT. IS. FUN! I'm trying to talk my best friend into buying the game, I was raving about it in text messages to him yesterday trying to convince him.

Also, I've made a ton of friends in this game. I've added 9 new people to my PS4 friends list since Friday, just from playing this game. I've played with all of them over the last 24 hours, we all team up and chat in game and it is an absolute blast. Maybe a month from now, I may not play it every waking hour, but I have zero doubt I'll still be playing this at least every few days a month or two from now, this game is even more fun than I thought it would be and it is addictive like crack.

So, as I said in my previous post, I played another long stretch from 5pm Monday night to 3am Tuesday morning (an hour and a half ago) with a bunch of friends I've made through the game. This game is just too damn addictive to not want to play.

Of those 10 hours spent playing, we spent probably 70% in private matches with 7 or 8 of us since we had a pretty much full roster of people and private matches are easier to deal with. The final 30% came from midnight to 3am when it was only 5 of us in a group. Actually ended up meeting up with a cool trio of guys for my last couple matches and added each other as friends for future gaming sessions.

A lot of cool moments tonight. One game, on either Higgins Haven or Camp Crystal Lake, somehow we managed to get both cars running and 6 of us somehow managed to slip past Jason without dying and all escaped. Another game, there were four of us in the big car, Jason kept getting in front of us and stopping the car, everyone would bail out and keep Jason occupied, I'd keep restarting the car and we'd advance a couple hundred feet before Jason would stop us again. He probably did that 5 times before we finally were able to stun him and escape in the car. A display of absolute perfect teamwork! I stayed in the driver's seat, everyone else fought Jason and distracted him, I got the car restarted and we all eventually escaped.

Then there was a stretch of three straight games were everyone lived. The one were 6 of us escaped in cars and the last guy outlasted the timer, another one were all 8 of us (including the person who went back in as Tommy Jarvis) escaped via the cops, so the guy playing as Jason ended up with a big fat 0/8 kill score. Then the very next game, we essentially did it again, only one guy got killed, returned as Tommy Jarvis, and then escaped with the rest of us via the cops.

Through hours and hours of being teamed up in this game, a couple of us have gotten so good at communication and learning our way around the maps without having to use the map in-game, there have been times we have been able to get the cops called less than 2 minutes into a game and then successfully escape while Jason hunts down other people in the game.

I just got done playing 10 straight hours, and I'm already anxiously jonesing for my next gaming marathon with Jason. I want to play this game so damn bad right now, lmao.

There is a patch coming Tuesday to PS4 and Wednesday to XB1 that will address the database issues. The patch may already be available for Steam. Hopefully, this adds some more stability.

Yeah, I forgot about that clusterfuck. We'll definitely have to try again. I've got enough new people added as friends for Friday the 13th that we should be able to get a full 8 man lobby and play private matches, so it'll make everything much easier.

Want to pick this up and play some games with you guys but really hesitant with the servers situation right now. Plus this game is $53 on the PS4 and $39 on the XBOX (Cad$). I want it for PS4 but I'm confused why the price is different.

Call me and I'll explain. It's a bit confusing but you have multiple orders on different dates so you have to open your other survey within the email you got to find the code in your other order.

Yeah, I generally try to play when a group of friends are online, since the chatter amongst friends while in lobbies and in game make it that much more fun of a game. So when few or no friends are on, I usually spend time in MLB or Horizon right now.

But if you get it, let me know, I'll definitely jump over to Friday if you buy it and want to team up. We need to get some more people from here in the game, try to get a TGT lobby going some night if enough people buy it.

Yeah, it's not as smooth as most PS4 games but it was developed by any incredibly small team (I believe Gun Media is 4 people and Illfonic is like 10) on a tight Kickstarter budget so alot of slack is given by yours truly.

Besides, I've been obsessed with Jason Voorhees for more than 35 years so just the fact that this game exists is gold to me. ☺
