We have advanced. Welcome to the Offseason!

We are now at the Coaching Carousel. The consensus on allowing Coaching Carousel seemed to be positive, so all jobs are open.

Agency is first on the clock, with an offer from Penn State.

I'll be remaining at Arkansas State for the duration of the OD.

I'll weigh my options. Are we allowing the recruiting of :4star: this season or not til next?

One more season of :3star:, then :4star: starting in Year 3.

I know my clock just passed but I assumed we all were limited to three star schools the same as recruiting. Is that what's going on here or is everyone available to go wherever? Seems like it would throw off the balance of talent and recruiting.

I would agree with this as well... I'm personally not a fan of free-range of any school, especially not this early.

I'm open to discussion on that point. I wanted to have a discussion on this earlier, but there wasn't much discussion in the other offseason thread.

I'm personally staying at Kansas for the duration of the OD.

I didn't want to interject my opinion in that discussion since I'm more of an affiliate member so I don't believe I have a vote in the matter.

I'm good with whatever everyone decides... like I said, I have every intention of staying at Arkansas State.

I didn't think my vote carried much weight behind but also thought if we did have the option to change, strictly based off the recruiting restrictions we would be limited to three star schools.

I didn't think my vote carried much weight behind but also thought if we did have the option to change, strictly based off the recruiting restrictions we would be limited to three star schools. That would make no sense, as many of our teams (myself and Skip at the very least, those are the only ones I've checked) have jumped from 3-star to 4-star thanks to our bowl visits. So there'd be no reason to limit it to just 3-stars. We can easily limit ourselves to 3-star players without being 3-star teams.

FWIW, Penn State is only a 4-star team at this time, since that's the job offer that more or less kickstarted this discussion.

JeffHCross

Currently on the clock: Skip
Job Offer Maryland (4-star)

Skip is considering the offer from Maryland and will review it once he gets a chance. Because BYU is currently 4-star, it would be a lateral move.

I guess I should rephrase that statement. You inherit 4/5 start talent instead of building it through recruiting. Penn State may have been a five star school but because of a sub par season they dropped a star. I accept and immediately pick up 5 star talent.

Unless any objections I'd like to accept the Maryland position.

Some work needs to be done since they are in worse shape than BYU

We have advanced to Players Leaving.

I'm going to try to follow a more-or-less 24-hr deadline schedule for the offseason. If anyone doesn't believe they can stick to that, please speak up sooner rather than later.

Lost everyone that wanted to leave. FS got drafted, SS graduated and back up SS who was going to start transferred!!! Promised him everything. Couldnt bring myself to promising him more than 3 interceptions...because we all know that won't happen lol

Then you didn't promise him everything, lol :DWell it was everything to me lol. Start 9 games, make 60 tackles I believe. Though I know that could have been higher but again he wasn't going to get 100 tackles...maybe miss 100 tackles haha. Same for interceptions.

So I'll be fielding a walkon Strong Safety or very inexperienced one.... :fdown:.

As I just posted in a new thread, I'm looking to overhaul the sliders to ramp up the CPU challenge next season. One of the changes will be turning Home Field Advantage ON. To that end, we will be on the Custom Conferences stage of the offseason over the weekend, which is also where everyone can reset your coach skill points if you want to account for HFA being on.

We have advanced to Custom Conferences.

Deadline: Monday morning, 8 am central.

This stage also allows us to Reset our Coach Skills. You can do it from the Coach Skills Tree screen. Keep in mind that next season's sliders will have HFA turned ON.

I will be out tonight. Please participate in the slider and conference discussions so we can move ahead by Monday morning.

JeffHCross

We gotta dig in today as a group and talk this out.
No issues- ecrip, esco, G, skip
Can't connect- JB
Yet to play- Jeff, Marcotte, snoop
I can move to another conference if it makes moving us along an easier.
