Denver 27 - Carolina 17

:easy:

All you suckers thinking Carolina was going to win big. Poor Cam looked like a deer staring into a headlight. The play where he fumbled and did not dive after the loose ball made me cringe. That is the opposite of what a star QB does.

That was actually pretty funny. Are you being held captive in a basement by RAM? If so my apologies in advance but feel free to use this thread. The real RAM has to use the other because he is bat-shit-insane but you already know that by now. If you are female, it was nice talking to you but time is short. If you are an Asian Boy, you have until the age of 16.

Peyton does nothing,Denver gets no penalties called on them..but you believe it was all natural lol.
I picked Denver based on my premise while the world went the other way and I was right again. I'll pick next years super bowl right too.

In other news, Marshawn Lynch retired as well

Bull-fucking-shit!!!

You predicted Minnesota and Pittsburgh when the playoffs started. You had a 50/50 shot at guessing the winner of this game and you guessed right. Other than that, you've been wrong far more than you've been right in the playoffs.

Aw shit, you killed her.

Welp back to using your personal thread dedicated to the insanity that is RAM. After picking 10 different teams and waiting until the week of the Super Bowl, deciding on Denver. The same Denver you had losing to the Steelers. Swell job there Nostradamus.

Was I correct there was only 1 holding/PI call the whole game? (Against Carolina) Which came at 3:13 mark?

Surprised by that, especially with Talib

And especially with the amount of man coverage it appeared my both

There were a few missed calls IMO, but I'd rather see a physical game like this than one where the officials get too involved and try to blow a whistle on every single play.

Oh the refs definitely swallowed the whistle in some games these playoffs.

Surprising when they did however.

Happy to see the Broncos win but not Talib

Denver was flagged for offensive holding on fourth and one from the Carolina 5 yard line, 7:14 left in the 2nd.

Then Carolina got flagged with defensive holding on third and goal from the Carolina 4 yard line, 3:17 left in the game.

From what I remember and what I could tell running through drive summaries, there were no pass interference penalties at all during the game.

Most of Carolina's penalties came from false starts, offsides/neutral zone infractions and one or two delay of game penalties.

Smooth I meant defensive holding/PI. Like the holding call on Norman

That was only one called all game despite there being atleast 5 that I roughly counted between both teams.

Just surprised, then again I'm not because the officials seemed to hold off calling it as much during the playoffs...atleast I noticed when Pittsburgh played lol...which again special eye to Talib haha

Ah, okay. Yeah, that was the only defensive holding/PI call all game. Other than Talib's first half antics and Carolina's screw ups in the line, the refs actually swallowed their whistles for most of the game and let the players play.

The major calls only came in the red zone. Denver's offensive holding and Carolina's defensive holding near or in the end zone that would potentially directly affect touchdowns.

And it's not like Carolina spent much time in Denver's red zone to open the chance for a defensive holding or PI call.

Took you long enough. Just like you picked the Super Bowl winner two years ago when you went with Denver to beat Seattle. Ohh, right. Or when you keep picking the Giants to make the playoffs for the last three years. :eyeroll:

Lets see how long it took you to pick Denver.

Okay Nostra-doofus, how is the fixed NFL going to play out this year. List everything you can so we can check them off every time you're wrong :D

Can't do it. He can only analyze after the fact so he can use whatever happened to fit his narrative. He's the Joe Montana of Monday Morning QBs.

I know the Vikings will be in the Conference championship because they are hosting the SB next year with their new stadium ( the same circumstances as the Cardinals and 49ers in the past that you deny as another coincidence)

if they actually want Washington to win this game...I guess they intend to have Minn. lose to Steelers in the SB or have Seattle get there to lose to Steelers...?

I knew Minn. would go deep in playoffs. Building a new stadium and hosting the SB Next year...but I figured they would lose to NY in the nfc Championship.

Packers at Minn. in the conf Championship
Pitt at KC in Conf Championship
Pitt. Beats Minn. in SB

Minn. is going because they are hosting an SB and built a new stadium.Just like when the Cardinals and Niners went.
Pitt is going and winning like they always do because they are older NFL royalty and the NFL likes it that way.

What this tells me is GB vs KC might be what they're leading too

I'll stick with Steelers vs Green Bay for now.

next week I'm going with:
Packers
Steelers
Chiefs
Seahawks

its quite possible they could have Pats win next week..but I think they want to tease with a Super Bowl I rematch

isn't it amazing how Aaron Rodgers just hits last second bombs all the time ! LOL what a load of tv drama bull.

in light of Green Bay winning, I'm changing my pick tomorrow to Carolina over Seattle.

I originally thought they wanted Seahawks to Go to Green Bay. But it looks like they want Caryolina to go lose to who ever comes from the AFC.

Panthers
Steelers
Chiefs L
Packers L

well, thats a fascinating comment from a so called adult.

yep,two unrealistic fantastic finishes again today And I picked Panthers correctly.
But all this talk of Manning's decline and they get Pats at home. I'm taking Denver and Panthers.

Ram's Super Loser Predictions.

Minnesota going to the NFC Championship Game
Minnesota-Pittsburgh Super Bowl
Seattle-Pittsburgh Super Bowl
Minnesota-NY Giants NFC Championship Game
Green-Minnesota NFC Championship Game
Pittsburgh-Kansas City AFC Championship Game
Pittsburgh-Minnesota Super Bowl again
Minnesota going to the Super Bowl
Pittsburgh going to the Super Bowl
Scratch that, Green Bay-Kansas City Super Bowl
Picked Steelers over Broncos and Seahawks over Panthers, then at last minute changes to picking Carolina over Seattle
Debates picking New England (so he can try and cover his ass later when they do win), but still picks Green Bay-Kansas City Super Bowl
Finally makes a correct pick in the Championship Games picking Denver and Carolina.

Despite NEVER making a Denver-Carolina Super Bowl prediction, tries to talk shit like he knew it along, and then with a literal 50/50 chance of making a right pick, guesses correctly in picking the Broncos, and acts like it proves his dumbass theories correct. Of course someone is bound to get something right when they make 50 different changes to their predictions literally game by game. :eyeroll:

Suck on my Super Bowl win celebrating balls bitch!

Denver's defence just played fantastic. And Von Miller was great too. Not only pressure but he had great coverage on that one play to the WR down the sideline. Even better than the pressure was their run defence. Carolina got a bit pass happy in the second half while trailing. I think the overall pressure got to them. Cam did not play well but Denver deserves a lot of credit for that.

Rudy

Denver was 1-14 on third down. Damn! I'd like to see a defence like Denver had in Miami. They barely stopped anyone this year putting even more pressure on a weak offence.

It's what the viewers expect them to ask and has been this way forever. Peyton simply replied that his priorities were with his family first and he will give it some time. Pretty harmless stuff. I feel worse for the losing coaches that have to be interviewed right after the game about why they lost. It's what has always been aired and people expect it.

In regards to the game, I was surprised at Carolina with the deer in the headlights look to start the game. I predicted a defensive game with 20-16 Carolina, so it played it just like I thought, but the more inspired defense was from Denver. Glad to see Peyton get another ring. Very odd he'd give Papa John a kiss and hug at the end of the game :D

In regards to the commercials I'd go with:

1) Heniz Weiner Dogs
2) Dorito Ultra Sound
3) Amazon Echo with Baldwin and Marino
4) Audi's Space Commander
5) Bud Light Party with Rogen and Schumer

souljahbill

I can't even give you 5 commercials I like. I can do 3.

3) Doritos baby
2) Sir Anthony Hopkins selling out to Turbo Tax
1) Heinz weiner dogs

And of course the trailers for Capt. America, X-Men, and Deadpool.

In Canada with my satellite provider they always "simsub" commercials when Canadian networks carry the same thing as American networks. That means the US feeds are replaced with the Canadian feeds and Canadian commercials. So I miss a lot of the good ones and have to watch online. I thought the Doritos one was the best. Only saw one Marino and Baldwin commercial but I guess there is more than one?

Von Miller is a badass. I have a great deal of respect for his game and he was huge in the AFC Championship and again last night. It's going to be real interesting to see what Denver does to try and hold this team together.

Assuming Manning is gone (one way or another) if they have to Franchise Miller then Osweiler could really put them in a bad spot if he decides to see what his value is on the market. Everyone is quick to say it's time to part ways with Manning and move on to Osweiler but they forget that Denver could find themselves without either one next year.

I'm not, of course, saying that that will happen but it's no given that Osweiler will be in Denver next season.

Well, Denver has already said they will be franchising Von Miller as soon as the new season begins in March and plan to work out a long term contract with him. I imagine Malik Jackson and Osweiler are also at the top of their list.

It's not going to be easy. They have a lot of big names up this year. Miller, Evan Mathis, Vernon Davis, Antonio Smith, Malik Jackson, Danny Trevathan, Ryan Harris, Osweiler, Omar Boldin, Jordan Norwood, C.J. Anderson, Brandon Marshall, Brandon McManus, David Bruton. Elway is going to have his work cut out for him to keep this team largely together.

You would be correct. I just detailed his Super Suck predictions last night and he repeatedly mentions Minnesota solely because they're hosting a Super Bowl next year.

For the record, Josh Norman was called for holding on the opening drive of the game (13:39 remaining in the first) but it was declined because Manning completed a pass to Caldwell for 22 yards.

I'm not sure about the rest of the game because I was driving during the first half and listening on the radio and I was drinking heavily during the second half. :)

That was definitely the case of the defense. After that beat down from Seattle, Elway specifically focused on improving the defense with an eye at making it back to the Super Bowl in a year or two.

Minnesota would never have the Superbowl next year because it's just opening next year. The NFL usually waits at least two years before rewarding new stadium builds to make sure they are run smoothly. Miami hasn't had a Superbowl in ten years but their renovations will be done in time for 2016. They will get one soon and then Atlanta will get one. I'm sure Minny will get one. Seattle hasn't though. Any other new stadiums in line for rewarding taxpayer money to build these things? It should be noted Florida refused to help Miami and they are largely paying over $400 million themselves. They do get some property tax breaks and they get some money back for every Superbowl they host.

Minnesota has Super Bowl 52 already.

Yep.

Super Bowl 51 - February 5th, 2017 - Houston
Super Bowl 52 - February 4th, 2018 (tentative) - Minnesota

The four finalists for each year for Super Bowl 53 (2019) and Super Bowl 54 (2020) hosts are Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans and Tampa Bay.

New Orleans last hosted Super Bowl 47 in 2013. Miami last hosted Super Bowls 41 (2007) and 44 (2010). Tampa Bay last hosted Super Bowl 43 (2009). And Atlanta last hosted Super Bowl 34 (2000).

So I figure Atlanta is a 100% lock to host one of those two years, since they'll have no hosted in 19 or 20 years by the time those Super Bowls come up.

I will say, I really hope they eventually start being willing to expand Super Bowl hosts. Right now, only 15 cities, out of 31 NFL cities, have hosted the Super Bowl. And 20 of the 50 Super Bowls have been hosted by South Florida and New Orleans. Add in Los Angeles and Tampa, there's 31 of 50 Super Bowl hosts.

Minneapolis, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, only just in the last 20 years did the NFL actually bother to acknowledge anyone not named LA, Miami, New Orleans or Tampa.

Yes, I know, the Super Bowl MUST be played in nice toasty 70-80 degree weather, start in perfect sunshine, end in a nice perfect evening. But come on, give other cities a chance. Let other NFL cities get a taste of the economic impact of hosting a Super Bowl. Just try and tell me that cities like Denver, Seattle, Kansas City, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, etc. couldn't host one hell of a great Super Bowl. Yes, heaven forbid the big babies would have to play in cold weather, and yes, fans would have to actually bundle up for the game, but it's a joke that through 50 Super Bowls, even just a couple of the names on that list have never once seen a Super Bowl.

See when it happens in NCAA and Madden..it really is in the game

Yeah, that field was not good Sunday night.

According to SI, the grass was resodded six different times this season.

There has been never-ending issues with that field ever since the stadium was built.

I know Madden always complained that the Bay area fields (at least Oakland) were below sea level and caused problems. Not sure if that applies here. With how much money they spend on everything you would think they could get the grass to be perfect in areas where it never stops growing.

Squeaky clean Manning!?

How is this just coming out now?

Exactly! Why in the world would this come out now? Why would this wait til the end of Peyton's career when it could have taken him down at any point over the last 16-17 years? It doesn't make any sense. Why would the NFL come up with a script that has this great fairy tale ending for one of the best qbs of all time, only to tear him down and bury him in the dirt with a scandal like this?

If she was looking for a payday, it would have come out a long time ago. I'm calling bullshit on all the crap she said she went through, like being called a cunt bumper. There's no way that kind of unprofessionalism exists from university faculty, even if it was 20 years ago. That kind of thing is grounds for immediate termination. Furthermore, she's stupid for waiting 3 years before complaining about it.

I forget where the story popped up either online or TV that I first heard about, but apparently she was a trainer and while she was doing something with his leg, I forget what exactly the details of what she was doing were, he supposedly pulled down his pants and put his nuts on her face, basically teabagged her.

Right. I remember hearing something along those lines years ago and that he settled out of court.

Is this not public knowledge?

Rudy
02-13-2016, 12:41 PM
It was settled but Manning brought it up again in a book.

Nobody can call BS if they haven't read the article imo. There are a ton of details and people quoted on it. This isn't an Enquirer piece. And there were articles written on this in the past. USA today wrote about it in 2003 (before social media).

And Manning did teabag her. He should have just apologized for being a pampered and stupid jock. Instead he conspired to smear her to protect his image and future earnings.

SmoothPancakes

From the sounds of it, apparently not. I never knew the full details until this story broke, but I knew there was a time during Manning's career at Tennessee that he had been in trouble for something he did involving a woman.

My guess, because all this happened back in the 90s, there was no Facebook, no Twitter, no supermassive widespread internet that could be accessed on billions of computers, TVs, consoles, phones, tablets, watches or your ass; outside of Knoxville and the university, it probably didn't get noticed much nationally, especially since USA Today apparently had all the court documents back then but never did anything but sit on them for 20 years other than two vague stories/editorials.

If Manning was in college and did that last year, the shit would have hit the fan that same day.

Yeah, the same guy wrote about the double standard. Cam is certainly under a microscope and some of that dates back to her getting kicked out of college for stealing that laptop. I felt Cam was wrong in his post game and wrong in his follow up comments. I think the timing of this Manning report is linked to this stuff. But even though some are questioning the timing of this report it doesn't change whether it's true or not.

I'm sure there are some truths in there. That being said, this article is highly biased and has a clear agenda behind it... The role of race in the USA and the treatment of black vs white athletes. Defending Cam Newton's behaviour by "finding" dirt from a 20 year old settlement about Manning is highly suspect journalism. Regardless of what happened, the case was settled.

skipwondah33

Don't think it's about defending Cam just likely trying to point out he's not the only one doing something like that. We all know Manning is the standard of sportsmanship, says and does the right things, etc, etc.

I love how when other QB's get mad and yell at teammates or act like children get criticized to no end, but let Brady do it he gets praised as an awesome leader and super competitive. Rings will do that I guess, same reason Jordan was able to be how he was...and was/still is praised for it haha

Two of my favorite NFL players were Walter Peyton and Barry Sanders (after leaving Okie St). Had nothing to do with the color of their skin but their character on the field. Walter never ran out of bounds and Sanders always tossed the ball to the Ref after scoring. Why? Because he had been there, done that and planned on doing it again. Those are players I respect. Cam comes off as a douche just like Bill Romanowski did back when he played and continued after retirement. Douche-baggery does not see colors.

That would be a great point if Peyton owned his mistake, said he was a stupid kid, apologized and moved on. But he went far beyond that and tried to ruin the woman's reputation in order to defend his. The cover up was worse than the crime of teabagging imo.

I've talked about it on the radio for years. Sure, there was a subsequent lawsuit in 2003, but that was because Manning apologized for inappropriate behavior in his book when discussing the incident.

What's more, that lawsuit was filed by the trainer. That is, she chose to make Manning's apology an issue.

I haven't read Peyton book but I did read part of the link to the lawsuit where Peyton made up additional stuff on the trainer in the book and made up some lies to support his case. He tries to use former players and roommates who denied his allegations. One of the lawsuits was over Peyton and his dad making up stuff. I definitely see a cover up.

The thing that drove me nuts about Wallace was that he could get open but his footwork near the sidelines drove me nuts. He never fought to keep them in bounds. It had to be a perfect throw all the time. All he thought about was catching it and he missed a lot of big plays in Miami. Did not have good chemistry with Tannehill.
