This list is interesting from SPIN....

http://www.spin.com/2015/07/every-metallica-song-ranked/?utm_source=spinfacebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=spinfacebook

Kinda off the top of my head, this would be my list....

#1 And Justice For All
#2 Seek & Destroy
#3 One
#4 Wherever I May Roam
#5 Master Of Puppets
#6 For Whom The Bell Tolls
#7 All Nightmare Long
#8 Fuel
#9 Sad But True
#10 Battery

I find it interesting that they put Cure as the second to worst Metallica song of all time at #150. I dig that song.

Props to holding back Enter Sandman to #8, I don't even consider it in my top 20 I wouldn't think.

I clearly liked the album Load much better than SPIN did, I didn't like St. Anger or Re-Load as much, and of course the Lou Reed album was an abortion.

For example: 111. “Bleeding Me” (Load, 1996) would probably be in my top 20.

Very shocked at 107. “No Leaf Clover” (S&M, 1999), I thought that was a brilliant song.

Same with - 102. “King Nothing” (Load, 1996)

65. “Stone Cold Crazy” (Garage Inc., 1998) needs to be higher....

Same with this... 59. “The God That Failed” (Metallica (The Black Album), 1991)

46. “Frantic” (St. Anger, 2003) --- the only GREAT song on the album....

32. “The View” (w/ Lou Reed) (Lulu, 2011) --- an abortion that anything from that album was this high.....

27. “St. Anger” (St. Anger, 2003) --- an abortion that this was higher than Frantic

And finally while I don't agree fully with the top 20, they really didn't fuck it up too bad except for this song isn't even on my top five on Load - 13. “Hero of the Day” (Load, 1996)

Load and Reload are among my favorite Metallica albums, which is obviously going to lead to a very different list. But we can agree on all the recent stuff being crap :D

EDIT: In reading some of Spin's analysis, I've realized that I probably would judge Load and Reload drastically differently today. When I was younger I enjoyed albums as much for specific songs as I did for the whole album. Today, Nothing More and Into The Wild Life being recent examples, I appreciate a well done album as much or more than individual songs.

I would swap,
144. “Wasting My Hate” (Load, 1996)
and
143. “Cretin Hop” (“St. Anger” B-side, 2003)

Other than that the list is spot on. ;)

The Black album is sellout garbage though there is a small bit of acceptable on it. Everything after it is shit. Justice is ok but just ok. Everything before it is fantastic.

Tuesday’s Gone. I had you pegged as a Southern Rock fan, being from the South and all. ;)
