"Likely." I'd guess Rory was paid a lump-sum fee and that was it. I'd be surprised if there were additional payments levied based on performance, but I may be wrong.

Always brings up the question, should athletes be playing other sports on the side for fun.

I think they should, but when this happens it gets magnified.

Depends on the sport/activity. Football players playing Golf is one thing. Golfers playing football, not so much. ;)

When I was running track at OU, about ten of us on the team would always go play basketball at night and the coaches hated it. I think it's not so much playing another sport, but knowing how hard/not hard to try when playing another sport.
