Florida State has the only 99 OVR team this year. Alabama starts the season ranked 36th despite having a 97/99/92 team.

LSU shakes off shaky start in mauling of Lousiana Tech, 65-3

The Tigers Defense alone outscored the Bulldogs with 3 Defensive touchdowns, 2 by former All-American Justin Cole who now adds 7 total to his career resume.

LSu started the game firing on all cylinders as Josh Brown hit Mackey award winner Mark Brooks for a 10-yd score to get on board first. Cole would add his 1st of 2 pick sixes, then after that the LSU Offense couldn't stop shooting themselves in the foot. 3 straight turnovers doomed the Tiger offense and allowed the Bulldogs to get on board with a FG to make it 14-3. After that LSU got back on track and scored 3 straight touchdowns...one being another pick six to put the game away early before the half.

Josh Brown had a so-so performance as he comes off a Heisman winning season last year. He finished with 275 yards on 14-22, with 4 touchdowns but 2 interceptions. Brown chipped in on the ground effort with 153 yards. He also gave up 2 fumbles on dumb mis-pitches. Turnovers were preached to be avoided as much as possible this off season so Brown will need to be more careful

Freshman FB Mark Brown complimented the ground game nicely as well as coaches had planned for him, rushing for 65 yards on 12 carries.

John Davis added 126 yards on 4 receptions and a score.

LSU goes on a bye next week, then returns to square off against #1 Miami in Coral Gables. The Canes are on a 2-0 win streak against the Tigers so the team will be pumped for that game

I started off a little rusty, my offense was not hitting on all cylinders at all. Edwards was sitting at 18yds on 10 carries at one point in the second quarter, but we finally started opening up some holes for him and the whole offense started to click.

Pumped to see how they come out after the bye week. We get a chance to maybe work on some things this week.
