View Full Version : PH DPD: Season 6 Preseason

We're now at Preseason. Let's try to knock it out by 10pm Sunday night.

Post any schedule requests you have.

We will remain restricted to 4-star recruits or below.

Also, I'll be making some tweaks to sliders & settings. Post any suggestions and I'll keep them in mind while I'm making my changes.
The two I'll probably be focusing on will be turning HFA off and bumping up HUM Run Defense.

Let me know any questions or suggestions.

marcotte suggested turning down HUM Run Ability last year, and I have to admit that I agree with him. I understand your concern, G, about it seeming to bog down the running backs, but last year we had far too many HUM controlled running backs (including mine) that seemed able to make Barry Sanders level cuts with abandon. I realize that part of this is who we have recruited, but it seemed to me that it didn't really matter, at times, if the HUM Run D was better and in place to stop a run ... the cut made by the opponent could undo even a sound defense.

Just my 2 cents though. I don't want a small change to make a big (detrimental) difference.

I've done my home-and-home against you. Papa's the only other outstanding home-and-home I have, but we just played in the title game. I've yet to play skip outside of a bowl game, I believe.

I would like to see Michigan return to my schedule if possible -- actually, I see that they're on my schedule, so I guess I request if you're going to make changes, please leave that game alone :D

I figure I can't have both Nebraska and Michigan on the schedule ... so feel free to replace Nebraska with a difficult CPU opponent.

EDIT: I'm also taking an important test this week, so it might be a good idea for me to have Weeks 1 and 2 off. Based on my current schedule, we could remove the Week 2 Nebraska game and add a difficult CPU (or HUM) game to Week 6/7 instead.

I've been saying that about the RB's since the start. They all seem to make twitchy quick movements while the Defenders do stupid stuff at the slightest movement. They will often times either stop or randomly fall/go the other way.

Pass coverage is suspect and I'm under the belief after testing it that a Pass Coverage of 30 gives actually more solid coverage

I'm either way on the sliders though, what ever is best. What's the thinking behind the HFA off setting?

Will hop on here shortly to take care of preseason

I agree with Jeff decreasing the Hum RB ability and/or decreasing Hum Run Blocking without making our RB's sluggish. I'm all for making the CPU defense better, increase CPU Pass Coverage and CPU Rush Defense to keep us from consistently putting up lots of yards and high scores. It understand that this may be hard to do considering that this is such an offensive game.

I would like to play Oregon St.

I'll take care of preseason tonight, but I'm going to be gone until next Sunday, so put me on a bye in week 1, maybe even week 2 depending on how fast you want to go.

I'm ready to advance.

I have enjoyed using Edwards at PSU as he is simply unreal as a HB. At times I felt I had a little to much of an advantage so I'll go with the majority on this one.

At times I felt I had a little to much of an advantage so I'll go with the majority on this one.The weirdest part for me is that I remember moments, maybe only in the first two seasons, where my WRs or TEs obviously struggled with their low AGI ratings. Which makes me wonder what caused the change.

I'll have to knock out the schedules tonight after work... Sorry guys.

Sure quick to line up on a rebuilding team...
Rebuilding? lol I bet your roster is on par with mine, if not ahead.

I can't check because I'm afraid to log onto the site after doing my stuff on the console. Wiped it out before when I did that

Rebuilding my ass!!!

As I said JB your team is far better than mine :D

Those Safeties and Oline though!

Great work posting G
The problem with his team is that it's VERY senior-heavy so next year will definitely be rebuilding if he doesn't sign some studs in this recruiting class.

For his Safeties though, I looked at them and both are low-80s SPD. Obviously they're very talented otherwise, but they'd have a hard time playing SS for me.

Rebuilding? lol I bet your roster is on par with mine, if not ahead.

I can't check because I'm afraid to log onto the site after doing my stuff on the console. Wiped it out before when I did thatI haven't analyzed his roster by any means, but Texas Tech was #120 in Championship Contender rankings last season. They were obviously better than that over the long term.

Obviously they're very talented otherwise, but they'd have a hard time playing SS for me.For me as well...granted I can't say that completely as I have had mid to low 80 SS's starting in my system for the past 3-4 seasons lol. My current one is 85 speed and the one that graduated was 83..that started all 4 seasons.

Those OVR's for his team as a whole though are pretty solid, especially the Oline...and WR's.

They were obviously better than that over the long term.I imagine their team was solid last season as well despite that though...as far as the roster. Not translating to wins is different though as JB will pick up in that department.

Their roster is still solid though.

skip, anyone ever told you that you're a roster-half-empty kind of guy? :D

I'm just going off JB saying he's rebuilding and we (probably you) were picking on him :D

He couldn't have been saying that about me haha.

edit: I hate all of you for the teams you have put together BTW hahaha

Awesome job with all of this G!!! Now this is fun to see. I sure wish Johnson would have come back (even though on the web I convinced him to come back) because my secondary would be so so much better with a 92-93ovr CB.
