Last years starter Brett Peterson slides into the backup role despite throwing for 3,216 yards and 25 touchdowns last year. Stepping into his spot is true freshman Dustin Stewart, the coaches believe his potential upside is worth the risk of living with the growing pains this season as he's has the prototypical skill set for the position.

Another starter is moved into the backup role, this time in Greg Brown despite his 983 yards and 10 touchdowns last season although he'll see the field in passing situations and on special teams. While JUCO transfer James Foster doesn't have the speed of Brown he's not lacking in that department, not to mention he's a much stronger runner. True freshmen Jack Bennett will get a few touches spelling Foster in short yardage situations.

Auburn narrowly missed out on their target fullback last season, walk on Shannon Moore is hardly the type of player coaches want in this position, he'll rarely see the field.

Johnathan Martin returns to the starting lineup after grabbing 43 receptions for 624 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, he is moving positions this season however from flanker to split end. Stepping into the flanker position is Jamal Clay who mainly played in the slot last season and despite not seeing the field often still grabbed 34 receptions for 485 yards and 5 touchdowns, he'll also move inside in four wide receiver sets. What he lacks in speed he makes up in his ability to run crisp routes and get open. Transfer Tre Quan Smith will play in the slot in nickle situations.

JUCO Transfer Jarod Reyes steps into the starting lineup and has some big shoes to fill, coaches expect big things out of Reyes in the running game, if he can add some punch in the passing game it should open things up for the rest of the offense. True freshmen Richard Webb will play as the move tight end and will need to show he can make the blocks in the running game, however he should add some good things in the passing game. Shannon Green, the only returning tight end will be used mainly as an inline blocker when the situation calls for it, coaches don't expect him to add much to the offense.

JUCO Transfer Victor Dingle steps into the starting lineup at right tackle and should prove to be a nice upgrade. True freshman Tyrone Hawkins steps in at left tackle, coaches are asking him to just master the little things and compete each down. He should be an upgrade over last years starter as well. Roger Black will be the primary backup at both tackle positions.

True freshman Matt Washington will man the left guard spot and will be a massive upgrade over last years starter despite being right out of high school. Look for Washington to lead the way in the running game. Kris Brown is returning to right guard as the starter again this season, he was one of the main factors in last seasons running attack. Ken White will provide backup reps at both guard positions.

JUCO transfer Rich Smith will be the man in the middle all three downs, he's picked up the defense well in camp and coaches will rely on him to make all the defensive calls. Josh Atkins will be able to showcase his athletic ability as the weak side linebacker in both 3-4 and 4-3 sets, he'll be replaced in nickle situations as there are better coverage options available. Mike Smith started last season and put up solid stats with 40 tackles and a sack but will be asked to primarily play on special teams and be ready as a backup.

Adam Cannon started last season registering 59 tackles and 2 interceptions, the coaches expect him to improve on these numbers in 2014 as he moves from free safety to strong safety. Cannon will also spin down and play the money position in nickle situations as the weak side linebacker. Johnathan Charles and Chase Harris look to give depth and perform well in the limited action the may see.

True freshman JD Fletcher will play both kicker and punter this season as he's proven to be the most consistent in fall camp.
