Now for my "Hur durrrr, da NFL uz fixed, hur durr" Ramtarded picks.

lol you keep trying to say I dont know what i'm saying and look above.
the first game of the year and I'm already right. How the hell can I just be lucky and picking for the hell of when I keep getting it right vs the majority? Why didnt the rest who think its not staged pick the Broncos? It must mean I have a system that actually works.

what makes you think your random joke picks have anything to do with my evaluation? I picked mine for very specific reasons that I've explained in full more than once.
how can you be so stupid to think that the first game of the year, with a fresh no name QB, can come down to the final seconds on national tv?
damn, those sponsors are just freaking lucky I guess, huh?

go back to the thread and put what you really think with your so called football knowledge. Or are you afraid?
of course youll cheat now and not involve the Panthers when I already said they'd be lousy a month ago.

I dont need proof. Something either actually happened or it didnt. You dont need to prove truth. Truth stands on its own.

Since you like researching things so much. You might want to research the difference between "Truth" and "Fact."

you winning doesnt mean football isnt staged. My losing doesnt mean its not staged.I'm not denying you won the contest and I thanked you after it anyway.
Beating you was never my ultimate goal nor point But I was getting more picks right than you, based on games being staged, up till the last couple weeks when I chose the wrong scenario.
You cant call it luck 13 weeks in a row.My so called system was obviously working with very little effort. Will your logical mind ever start to process yet?

try this:
The Bengals,Patriots,Chiefs,Seahawks,Packers,Cardinals ...6 teams

none of these teams will make it to the SB this year. Thats 6 chances to be wrong using teams everyone believes have a chance.
Of course youll just call it luck afterwords.

I'm sure 8 of my 12 are making the playoffs. No one else here will have that success rate.I wouldnt be surprised if they let the Chargers,Rams,Raiders in the first round but i'm hoping they dont get that cheesy.

no Brady, No Gronk, a rookie QB,his first fucking game ( rookie enough, dont bother me about his bench time) against a so called great defense and Passing game.

you guys should be pissed. But you are sedated enough to just sit there like fools " derp, anything can happen, derp"
I believe what ever the all mighty nfl sells me :sf:

I'm still picking against the Pats the next 4 games because they have to pull the rug from under you at some point.
you dont think about the fact they have Brady coming back in the same game on the same night as Jeff Gordon. How lucky for the tv networks you worship..how lucky...

the Rams anD Vikings should win next week because they want to make sure the new fans in LA and the Minn home crowd in the new stadium go home happy and buy stuff.

and another thing.
QB is real hard? its the hardest position in sports? it takes 3 years to learn a system? you have to dumb it down for the new guy?
and yet in game one: Osweiler,Wentz, the Broncos QB, Dak,Garrowhateverthef**kallo all have good showings and 4 of them win their first game? ( yes Osweiller isnt that new,i dont care)
come on guys, wake up! stop buying the bullshit.
dont give me the shit about this or that team has a great defense or whatever. Its a made up myth. all these teams should have been dead in the third qtr in the real world.

8 fucking games come down to the final minute on the first fucking Thursday/Sunday and you think that's real life? really?

theyre setting you up to believe everyone can be 8-8 and you have no clue who's good and why.

You were not getting more games right than me "up until the last couple weeks", nor were you magically more right than me for 13 straight weeks. I had more right picks 8 times, you had more right 5 times, and we had the same number right 4 times. I was ahead of you in the standings for 11 straight weeks. It took you until week 11 to finally catch up to and jump me, and even that only lasted for 3 weeks before I reclaimed 1st place permanently.

address the rookie QBs doing well when its such a hard position.
You avoid even the most remotely intellectual conversation for the most trivial matters.
and your jokes are 3rd grade level unoriginal.

you of course believe the wrestling movie that is the nfl.

the Rams move to LA,get the first pick, get a QB that appears to not be that good. They are of course the team picked for the fake, highly edited Hard Knocks...then lose in the worst way possible in week one! the only team to ever be shut out in week one!?
this is obviously so they can make a big deal out of it when the Rams start winning and get to the playoffs and SB over the next few years.
this is perfect for their mind numbing documentary/retrospective dramas.
the only reason the Cardinals and Rams games went the way they did was because all the money was on them to win.
I knew theyd screw you but I keep forgetting that the world is already so dumb, theyll pick the most extreme bull instead of something less unlikely like Jaguars vs Packers.

For the sake of argument, let's say the Rams make it in 3 years. No one is going to care that they lost badly in week 1 of this year. Stories don't have a long tail like that and that's a very uninteresting beginning to a story.

49ers Beat Rams In Their First Season-Opening Shutout In Franchise History

fine, this above is actually what happened. are you happy the best you can do is correct a trivial mistake? guess what, you still dont realize its staged no matter what.

regardless, its still a sensationalistic happening for all the media around the Rams their first season in LA.

move to LA.
Number one pick.
tv show.
get shut out first game.
resign a losing coach..?
its all sensationalistic, fictional bull---- to make you waste time thinking about it.
so they can make a documentary about their great comeback over the next 3 years because they will of course start winning before or after or both, in the new stadium.
you see this crap over and over and you are so dumbed down, you think its new every time? wake up!

They made the Seahawks play poorly and Russell get his fake ankle sprain so this game is set up for the Rams to still look good for their first home game in LA. You cant see that?
you dont see that? the incredible fucking timing of Russell being injured and the team sucks at home against the Dolphins while the Rams look bad? you think that's all just a coincidence?
there is no such thing as coincidence or luck. Those things do not exist.
its impossible to script games? then it must be impossible to make movies too...

That's the great thing about the NFL, it's nearly impossible to pick, that's why I went on a limb with Buffalo. I felt like the trio of Tyrod, Watkins, and Shady would be very solid this year and the defense would be above average. Then week one happened, but at least it's only week one, but it's hard telling how effective Watkins is going to be going forward.

lol nearly impossible? its the same teams every year. The
Colts,Steelers,Giants,Cowboys,Packers,Broncos,Rave ns,Vikings, recent history Pats, always get in playoffs.
Its not remotely hard at all.

SmoothPancakes

Well, even that is false if you're looking at the entire Rams history, including their St. Louis years. As I posted above, they were shut out by Seattle in week 1 of the 2009 season.

Now, if that headline is referring to the 49ers getting their first ever shutout win in week 1 of a season, I could buy that as I didn't find any shutout wins for the 49ers through 2000 (when I quit looking back through past seasons).

lol nearly impossible? its the same teams every year. The
Colts,Steelers,Giants,Cowboys,Packers,Broncos,Rave ns,Vikings, recent history Pats, always get in playoffs.
Its not remotely hard at all.

Colts - 13 times since 2000 - :check:

Steelers - 10 times since 2000 - :check:

Giants - 2011 last season making the playoffs, only 7 times since 2000 - :red-x:

Cowboys - 2014 last time, 2009 last before that, only 5 times since 2000 - :red-x:

Packers - 12 times since 2000 - :check:

Broncos - Only 9 times since 2015, so I award you .5 :check:

Ravens - 10 times since 2000 - :check:

Vikings - Only 6 times since 2000, 2009 and 2012 the last times before last year - :red-x:

Pats - 13 times since 2000 - :check:

So you get only a half-bullshit award for the claim that those teams "always" get in the playoffs. But hey! We're making progress! You're finally making some claims that actually have facts behind, not just pulling stupid shit out of your ass like normal!

Also, every single team has been to the playoffs at least once since 1999. The Bills have the longest postseason drought at 26 seasons.

Only 4 teams have playoff droughts of 10 seasons or longer, the Bills (16 years), Raiders (13), Browns (13) and Rams (11).

Every other team has been to the playoffs at least once in the last 8 years. 20 teams have been to the playoffs within the last three seasons. That's 62.5% of the league. So no, it's not the same teams every single year. But nice try. Here's a pat on the head. Now go play there little buckaroo.

well,look at that.
I picked the Rams and Vikings purely on having their first home games at new homes.
It had nothing to do with supposed better teams or odds or anything. I was right.

had this been 3 years ago, I would have picked the Packers and Seattle. That is after
all supposed to be the logical choice, right?

I agree. No offence Ram butall arguments in this thread need to be about logic.

The Giants looked bad in the preseason but their high priced defence is much improved and with Cruz healthy and that rookie WR they are a good team. If theDolphins don't pound the Browns this weekend I will be really pissed. I hope Byron Maxwell tries to play within 5 yards of a WR in this game instead of setting up in the parking lot and not defending anything.

Logic? All you are doing is guessing and hoping about something already predetermined.

I already said the Giants would be in the playoffs before the season started. How they "looked" in the preseason is an irrelevant shell game

the Giants are the playoffs every 2.7 years.

ram29jackson
09-23-2016, 02:07 AM
And I'm telling you that they won't. Listen to me.

They. Are. Terrible.

I'm so confident that they won't make the playoffs that I'd make a wager with you. Saints get in, I'll stop posting for 6 months. Saints fail to make it, you don't post for 6 months.

Put you theory where your mouth is. Put up or shut up.

why would I need to bet anything when its here in print what Ive said?
its already a fact that games are staged whether you know it or believe it.
The only thing in question after that is how they decide to move the shells.
If the Saints didnt make the playoffs, games are still staged.
I've already put up. Its all over this forum. You are 2 years behind.

terrible? you just saw the defense hold the Giants to 16 points. they scored over 30 in the previous game and lost by one. You dont even know how to analyze the sport you supposedly like.

the sad, pathetic hilarity in the whole thing is that if I won, I wouldnt make you stop posting for 6 months. Theres no need for that. I dont hate you.
Its just trivial sports talk.
But for you, theres some kind of animosity like you are being attacked. You are taking something personal that is external and has nothing to do with you.
and attacking and making fun of someone simply for having a view you dont like. who's the rational adult here?
youve been taught to call people crazy just because they dont have the same view as others/you. But you are supposed to be a free thinking, educated, rational adult, right?

its just sports talk and you are acting like its the most important sacred thing on earth and must be defended? wheres that paycheck for watching pro sports on tv, for you?
derp I dont get what he's saying so I'm going to blurt out the word conspiracy and laugh at him because thats what i've been taught to do derp

fine, I'll take the so called bet. I dont really need to because when the Saints win ,youll still make excuses and call it luck or just your stupid "football stuff happened" crap reasons.
but what ever.

yes, another fantasy you guys cant seem to see through.
a 3rd string QB with hardly any experience gets a win?
the other team magically fumbles twice on special teams plays?

it takes 3 years to learn a system as a Qb but the 2nd and 3rd stringer just magically step in and get wins?

"dude, its because Belichick is a great coach, bro"

the nfl is a copy cat league but he's able to fool people for 15 years when everyone knows the same crap?
if he's that good, why isnt he working for the govt? football is too easy.

he's coaching against guys who worked for him and learned his stuff but they cant figure it out or plan against it?
are you seriously that gullible? can you think for yourself for one damn moment, ever?

did you even pay the slightest attention to #29 just letting Brissett go past him for the TD?

why would I need to bet anything when its here in print what Ive said?
its already a fact that games are staged whether you know it or believe it.

I take it personal for 2 reasons:

1) your theory is an insult to my professional career. You claim injuries are fake out side of an occasional, "Whoops, this wasn't in the script but we did it too hard and someone accidentally got hurt." That somehow, every athletic trainer is some actor in this grand scheme to fool people for entertainment yet you have NO CLUE how many hours we have to put into this job. How many late nights followed by early mornings we have to put in to get people to play. You don't know what it's like to work for a coach who's delusional and thinks that a player can play with damn near any injury "if their tough enough" or "want it bad enough" when a player can move their leg or shoulder. You don't know how many family events we miss out on because it's scheduled on a game day or you can't leave practice because there's just too much to do. You don't know what it's like to be in a room when a doctor tells a senior that 2 games into the season, his season is over because he has a grade 2 MCL sprain that'll probably require surgery. You don't know about any of that shit so yeah, I take it personal when you imply that injuries are fake and a part of grand illusion .

2) I also take it personal because you outright called me a liar or too dumb to be in the know when I talked about working in the training room at a D-1, FBS-level university. We NEVER got anything remotely resembling a script. No injuries were faked for the sake of drama. No games were staged for the sake of drama. None of this bullshit happened so to insinuate that I'm either lying to protect the integrity of the illusion or I'm just too dumb to recognize the scheme when I was doing injury evaluations and coordinating rehabs is an outright insult to me.

If you told this bullshit theory to my wife, she'd slap you in the face because she knows how much shit I have to do at work and to say it's just a trick for entertainment is a complete falsehood.

So yeah, it's personal.

LOL
0-3 means the impossible will happen again as it always does in the nfl.
every year they say "such and such has never happened"...and then it of course does happen.

next week they'll win and still only be one game behind in their own division. possibly two games behind Falcons.
They are absolutely fine.

you saw the Falcons win six in a row and then falter last year. Youve already seen the rams lead the division with no fucking offense to speak of and score multiple points the next week with crap for a QB.
the impossible keeps happening and you think some how it will get realistic now? LOL you have so much to learn grasshopper and you disrespect the wisdom filled teacher willing to help you.
The Saints are making the playoffs. The so called impossible will happen again in the nfl for the 2000th freaking time.

dont count any chickens yet......

this was only episode 3 of the great nfl fake football show.

SmoothPancakes

Naturally, ignoring the fact that only 12% of teams in NFL history have reached the playoffs after starting 0-2, and that in the 51 years since the dawn of the Super Bowl era, a whole whopping FIVE teams have EVER successfully reached the playoffs after an 0-3 start, the last being the 1998 Bills.

But yep, the Saints are a shoo-in! Just like the Giants have been guaranteed to make the playoffs for the past three years according to Nostradumbass. If only they could actually win more than 7 games.

in the Real world, there are not a hand full of close games every week. How in the hell is that so hard for you to actually realize?

you of course wont bring up the Saints unrealistic fantastic finish.
you of course wont bring up the Rams winning with absolutely no offense to speak of. Youll just come up with some dumb fucking football cliche with no logic to explain it.
you of course are unable to address Russ Wilson supposedly having a bad ankle and bad knee but hopping around like a bunny today.
Hoyer winning with the Bears?
pro sports is just childish, unrealistic nonsense now but they've dumbed you down so much, youll buy any outcome.

if you know so much Smooth, why didnt you pick the Steelers, Saints and Pats and Falcons like me? the fact I got those right cushioned the blow of the games they let sorta play out semi realistically lol.
I dont even have to know who's good to play a numbers game of getting picks right. If I were just stabbing, I'd be 6 behind and not just 3.
your foolish thought is i'm just stabbing lol. If I were stabbing, I wouldnt pick the Steelers, Bengals and Cardinals like everyone else.
Since I know its staged, my thoughts are ,ok,which games are they trying screw you with and what story do they want to tell.
it was too obvious the Pats were losing today with injured back ups and a Bills getting a new offensive coach after a Thursday game.

Please do not use images quoting a book that you and the image creator obviously never read or just misunderstood. In the book Collin Kaepernick would never be allowed to take a knee during the anthem, as that is the individualism that the "inner party" persecuted as a thought crime. Even the NFL allows end zone celebrations, up to a point, which would once again be a no-no. I could list a few dozen more examples but it's not worth the time, especially since it is a heavily edited quote to begin with.

What was actually said...

“Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbors, films, football, beer, and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult…. All that was required of them was a primitive patriotism which could be appealed to whenever it was necessary to make them accept longer working hours or shorter rations. And when they become discontented, as they sometimes did, their discontentment led nowhere, because being without general ideas, they could only focus it on petty specific grievances.”

The fact that you tried to have a thought is the only crime here.

P.S. Orwell was British, as was the setting of the book, so it's not even the right "Football Match" in the picture.

you dont know the difference between knowledge and just parroting back what someone told you to think. I'm the one actually thinking for myself and gaining knowledge.

1) You're not giving knowledge or spouting wisdom.

2) There's only 1 thing that's constant in the universe. Change. I'm comfortable with change. It happens.

3) I have a pretty exciting life. I travel regularly. I engage in conversation with intelligent people (you not being one of them). I teach kids how to think (not what to think) everyday. I have a great wife. Awesome dogs. Maybe your life isn't exciting but that's probably because you're dumb.

4) You clearly don't understand that the rules of sport leagues skew towards parity and Bell curves dictate that most things are in the middle with standard deviations towards both ends lessening. I learned that in college. A place I graduated from. Twice.

5) College encourages free thinking. You'd know that if you went. The military is about obeying authority.

6) Funny how you're telling me that I'm parroting how other people tell me how to think about sports when NO ONE has ever done that in my life. Wait. One person has. You. Hypocrisy at its finest.

7) If your theory was so concrete, I'm sure you would have convinced at least 1 other person, at some point, to see your line of thinking but you haven't. Do you know why? Because not 1, not a single 1, of your claims have had any merit or legitimate evidence to back it up.

8) You're a dumbass.

Play it in real time and I'm sure you'll see how easy it would be to miss by a human being.

Serious question, I'll leave it up to the group:

Are we ready to ban ram yet? If so, I'm ready to do it.

I'll only take public replies here, no PMs. I'll take the results after 24 hours. If the vote is no, he's safe until the end of the NFL season. If it's yes, he's gone for a year.

You wouldn't think so, but to actually say yes is sort of a tough choice. I mean, I'm not going to mince words, we're a pretty damn small community here. With the death of the NCAA series, we've slowly whittled down to only a handful of regular posters outside of those taking part in the online dynasty forums. So to ban Ram would only make that number smaller.

On the other hand, looking at things objectively, would banning Ram hurt this site anymore than the declining number of posters over the years? You look around at the various threads and posts over the last year, two years, three years, what has Ram contributed to this site recently? Nothing but repeated conspiracy crap and various crap remarks at all of us.

Now I'm not going to play innocent, I've said many things to Ram over the years that could certainly be deemed personal attacks and other rule violations, but I at least do my best to contribute elsewhere, with the weekly college football threads, in the NFL thread, posting info on upcoming games, DLC and updates when I come across them, helping live post during E3 conferences and even using this site to post and share updates on my dynasties and franchises, when I could easily use OS or some other site.

All Ram ever seems to contribute is claims that we're all ignorant sheep and repeatedly blathering on about conspiracy this and fixed that without ever providing anything that would meet the standards of empirical and scientific evidence.

While Ram does at least stoke some discussion and debate with his nutjob thread, it doesn't mean that the discussion and debate is needed. It might make the place seem just a bit smaller without Ram posting every week without fail, but when those posts contribute nothing of value, I find myself voting for banning him and bring this conspiracy absurdity to a long needed end, at the very least, for the rest of the year/football season, if not for good.

It is done. I am closing this thread because it's purpose is no longer needed.
