Florida kicks off their class with a bang signing four in Week 5.

In High School, Archer was the anchor for a run first offense. As a result, he has impressive strength and run blocking ability but has a lot to learn in pass blocking.

With a depleted Offensive Line, Florida will start Archer right away, likely at the Left Guard position.

If there were any one position that wasn't a need, it would be Linebacker, but that didn't stop Mitchell from wanting to join the Gators. Despite returning all 3 starters in the strength of the defense, Mitchell will still likely find a spot on the field, likely in situational roles as a freshman.

With his good speed, good strength, and great tackling, he'll be a force for the Florida defense for years to come.

After having to shift around several players to fill holes, defensive back is one of the shallowest positions in the Gator defense. Jenkins comes in more ready-to-play than any current DB on the roster.

With great speed, agility, and good coverage abilities, he'll almost certainly start immediately as a true freshman.

Gray is the most impressive signing of the Florida class so far. After having a year in JUCO to get his grades in order, Gray shows that he's still a monster at the safety position. With great speed and great zone coverage, he is destined to play center field in the Gator defense.

Depending on the rest of the class, Gray will either start at Free Safety or Strong Safety but will likely make the biggest impact where-ever he is positioned.

Obviously my whole class won't be like them but I have several more that I think I'll sign (some I know) that I consider 3-star studs. The rest will be more role players or fringe starters.

You also got that lineman I was after.

Despite having a decent game manager in current QB Joey Jones, when Florida coaches found Lewis, they knew they had to sign him and that he'd be their next starting QB. With great arm strength and good accuracy, Lewis can be a game changer rather than a manager.

The coaches like him so much, they're considering changing their entire offensive philosophy to let Lewis shine.

Yeah I'm really hoping to snag this OLB even though he won't be needed next season (we are set at LB) and this Corner who is top of my board and will start

Couple others hopefully I can snag as well

Yeah, this was another big recruiting week for me as well. I had no expectations that I would beat Alabama of course but these were all players that I have a significant lead on and I just want to seal the deal. I'm hoping some of them sign in the next couple of weeks.

After that, my next recruiting week will be Week 14 against LSU. That one will be crucial for some of my key targets remaining in this class.

Coming to see Florida win! Plus it's the last available week for me so it helps ensure I get the most points for a visit.

That said, you don't get any bonus points for inviting a recruiting when you're battling that school. Although that would have been a nice addition.

I didn't pay attention much to who I was scheduling visits for and apparently their different values. I had half my recruits come in for the Alabama game. I know I have some for the Arkansas game next week

All 3 are going to be starters especially Smart on the Oline. Thompson may play Safety or Corner with some decent ratings for either position. Whichever suits him best. We may have a Corner coming in that could be better. Along with some young Freshman that are playing some solid ball who could return better next year.

While he's projected as a FB at the next level, Florida coaches plan to slide Smiley over to the Tight End position which is a dire need.

While he won't win any foot-races, Smiley has excellent hands and the ability to run over DBs. Expect him to start as a true freshman and be a force in the passing game for years to come.

Auburn lands its first three recuits one week before planned as the big recruiting weekend will be in Week 10. We got two offensive linemen and a Middle Linebacker who will step in and start day one.

http://i.imgur.com/YSdTuZ7.png
Matt Washington will step in and start from day one, he brings good size, strength, quickness and run blocking ability which exceeds anyone currently on the team.

http://i.imgur.com/YTZdsZU.png
In an attempt to raise the talent level quickly there was an effort to mix in some good JUCO's with the youth, Rich Smith will transition from OLB into the Middle and start next year.

Victor Dingle is another JUCO who will start day one, he looks to slide right into the LT role and hold it down for the next two years while we build depth behind him.

Calvin Butler is an all-around solid WR with a good base of skills to continue to build on. While he won't be a shining star, he will be the guy to contribute over the course of his career.

Expect that the Florida coaches will redshirt Butler to allow him to work on his catching both in traffic and his one-handed-behind-the-back catches which need considerable work.

Florida is a school that's known for it's speed but when coach Gschwend took over the Gators, that was one thing that they desperately lacked. Tyler immediately adds a notch of speed that has been missing. While his hands aren't the best in the country, once he gets the ball, he can get separation.

Look for Pittman to have a special role in the offense and also be the primary return man on special teams.

Offensive & Defensive lines are a key focus for this recruiting class for Florida and they got a special one for the defense. Dixon is a beast in the gym and it's evident by his ability to hold off double team blocks on the field. With great strength and good ability to get off blocks, Dixon is more than ready to start in the middle of the defense. Expect him to be the leader of the defense in years to come.

ElevenWarriors.com - Meet The Ohio State Class of 2014 (so far)

With the calendar rolling to November, it's time to recap the players that have committed to Ohio State so far this season. With a few weeks left to go in the season, the Buckeyes coaching staff have their eyes on a few more targets, but the players below are already in the fold.

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2014_Louis_Rhodes_zps02caabc6.png
HB
WR
Louis Rhodes was the first player to commit to the Class of 2014, and would end up being one of nine players to commit in the six days following Ohio State's upset home victory over Iowa. Like most of Ohio State's targets this year, Rhodes comes in with average skills for the most part. He does a decent job of staying out of arm's reach in the open field. Though he current stars at halfback for his HS team, we believe Rhodes is going to be moved to WR by the Buckeyes staff. Because he'll be relatively raw at catching passes, expect Rhodes to take a redshirt year first.

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2014_Jason_Roberson_zps66f0d0ed.png
QB
Jason Roberson was another committment the Buckeyes earned after the Iowa victory. Roberson is one of two primary targets at Quarterback for the Buckeyes this season, and he becomes the odds-on favorite at the quarterback position starting in 2017. Roberson's speed and running skills will all be an upgrade over the current depth chart (no disrespect), and with comparable passing skills to boot. He is a JUCO, but only a sophomore. With another QB in this class (more on him in a moment), Roberson is, barring injury, guaranteed to redshirt his first season.

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2014_Bryan_Lacey_zps1e94aaa8.png
T
G
Bryan Lacey also committed after the Iowa game, and was the first, in what is now a long line, of committments trying to strengthen the Buckeyes on the offensive line. Lacey possesses decent strength in the weight room, and is able to use it on the field effectively to knock defenders off the ball (and off their feet). His run blocking is lacking, but will come with time in the Buckeyes running game. Right now he projects as a perfect successor at Left Tackle, though will probably get a look at guard where his acceleration from a dead start would be welcome for pulling blocks.

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2014_Marcus_Avery_zps505cfc45.png
QB
Here we go! Quarterback #2, Marcus Avery, came into the fold after the second upset of the season, over Maryland. The Junior JUCO, like his classmate Roberson, looks to be a run-strong quarterback when all is said and done. However, his YouTube highlights display an absolute cannon arm, the likes of which Coach Jeff H Cross has never had in his various coaching gigs over the years. Avery's talents at DB for his HS can't go unmentioned, but the reality is that we can't afford to ignore him for QB next year. Marcus Avery will be starting under center (or more likely in the shotgun) next Labor Day.

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2014_Rashad_Alston_zps03c167e8.png
SS
Rashad Alston, another Junior JUCO (noticing a trend?), gave the Buckeye coaching staff his verbal committment after the road victory at Nerdwestern. With quality play lacking in the secondary this season, Alston's experience at Coffeyville Community College will be a major plus. Alston should expect the #1 SS job next fall, with SS #2 going to another player we shouldn't mention because he has yet to sign (karma!).

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2014_Tim_Herron_zpse172c66c.png
WR
One of the most recent commits for this year's class, Herron will be the big end-zone threat that the Buckeyes lack this year. The speed and acceleration displayed on film suggests that he may be able to stretch the field vertically, something else the Buckeyes lack this season. Combined with Marcus Avery's arm strength, those skills could add another attack vector for the Buckeye offense next fall.

Honestly Chad has a long way to go if he wants to make it on the field. Doesn't have the necessary athleticism to play on the back end. His coverage skills are excellent for it however we have our doubts that he will be able to prevent WR's from getting behind him. He will definitely see himself redshirted with the possibly of moving to the SS position or if he bulks up alot the OLB position

As with signing WR Pittman, the Gators needed speed on offense and Butler is an instant playmaker in that department. With good speed and elusive ability plus his surprising ability to block, he'll challenge for the starting role from day 1.

Even if he doesn't get the primary role, he'll certainly be an accent in the offense alongside bruising HB Randall Williams.

Willis was described by his Junior College coaches as a bottle rock with a stick of dynamite tied to its back. You don't always know where it's going to land, but when it hits, there will be an explosion.

Despite his poor coverage skills and play recognition, his excellent speed and tackling ability will put him on the field day 1. He'll likely be used mostly in packages to get him near the line of scrimmage to be able to chase down HBs and get sacks on QBs.

Matt Johnson is part of the Florida Gators plan to rebuild their entire offensive line. His role will most likely to play Center as he has good strength and balanced at both Run Block and Pass Block.

Anthony Mills is a stud of an offensive lineman. With great strength and blocking abilities, he would contribute as a true freshman for many teams in the country. For Florida, he'll be the anchor of a rebuilding offensive line. At RT, he'll be well equipped to lead the way for runs and also keep pesky DEs out of the QBs face.

It is apparent how far ahead you guys are at recruiting over me. Seeing the guys you all are pulling in blows my team away, which my team was already behind talent wise all but Tex's UCLA team.

Skip, not sure if you saw my advice earlier in the season, but go look for a tips thread on OS. This is my first attempt at recruiting on '14, other than a test dynasty I started at the same time we started. The OS thread had crucial advice.

I don't look at what I'm getting bonuses for or anything. And of course I schedule a visit when I see they are ready for one. All my visits are early because I didn't know certain ones carried different value until last week.

Skip you absolutely have to look at bonus points. If someone is getting more bonus points than you and you are putting the same amount of points on them you will never gain ground. Also remember that if you are recruiting against a big school that there is the possibility they ate putting 700 points on them. You should be able to tell what other teams are putting on a recruit based on bonus points and your +\- after an advance. Visits are huge this year and they can keep you on a race or grab you a commit. Try to schedule when you think the guy would be close to 100% or if he's already at 100 try to schedule after the team ahead of you, as long as you aren't going to get locked out when he visits them.

Haha I like the old way of recruiting. The football with the happy or angry face. I'd just pitch the hell out of playing time and campus life :D

Thanks for the advice E, I'm going to be dangerous next season recruiting. I've spent all of my coaching XP on recruiting so far I believe...even though I'm 2-3 levels behind everyone.

JB I want to play Louisiana Tech next season..they took some of my recruits and hopefully I will be better..and beat the brakes off of them.

La Tech is no joke, I played them this year, brought all my recruits in that weekend and got steam rolled. After beating much higher rated teams I was sure I'd beat them...had no chance in the game.

Nathan doesn't have that solid of numbers but he can get off blocks. He will almost certainly start regardless since he will be the best person we have on the DL next season.

Question

The bonues that you get points for is there anyway to alter or pitch points to those like before?

Also how can you use the unlocks? Says I have 5 but haven't been able to use them.

JeffHCross

The bonuses are for each of the recruit's pitches that are shown in Pitch Info. Some will change over the course of the season, some won't. But you can't affect them directly, especially since we can't get points for Playing Style because of TeamBuilder.

To use Unlick, you have to be within 2000 points of the last place team, according to the game. I believe this means that the recruit has to be in the Locked/Battle state for it to be used.

Martinez isn't a flashy signing for the Gators but he is a solid addition that can grow into a starter. While he doesn't excel in any one area, he is well-rounded with good tackling, finesse moves and coverage abilities. Look for him to play sparsely his first two seasons in a backup role.

Auburn brings in three more this week and one last week:

http://i.imgur.com/q4VuEmT.png
Not an athlete at all, basically a small offensive tackle. He'll play next season in two TE formations as a primary blocker

http://i.imgur.com/icmSN2M.png
Is athletic but not a top notch athlete, looks more like a free safety despite playing corner in high school, depending on how the rest of the class comes together he may find himself starting at corner or taking a redshirt at safety.

http://i.imgur.com/cSNfBCp.png
Will be the starting kicker and puntner next year.

http://i.imgur.com/LsXdDU9.png
Despite being undersized he's a great athelete and will be a day one starter, he'll be the best player in the defensive backfield before arriving on campus.

It's startling how much even shittier we will be next season compared to you guys after seeing these players. :D

Going to be alot of redshirts, not wasting the "good" ones on another lost season.

Not an athlete at all, basically a small offensive tackle. He'll play next season in two TE formations as a primary blocker Funny enough, in a test dynasty today I saw an offensive lineman who had 70 OVR speed. I wondered if they could be a TE at that speed. Apparently, yes? Lol.

He was like 6'5", 295 lbs though.

And now 890 points behind Texas on a RB recruit I was leading on just last week by more than 300 points :glare:..what the hell man.

Haven't been able to schedule him for a visit because my last 5 games have/will be away. Not that it would matter anyway he probably knows he will win the Heisman and break records next season at Texas...

In more recruiting news. Received commits from players not really interested in but hey we need them.

Johnny will be a special teams guy and bench rider for a while. Not exactly sure why he was targeted other than for depth reasons.

If Kasey were playing for us now he would be our best player on the Oline. Needless to say he's already earned a starting position on next year's team.

Florida misses out on one of their top targets because LSU can't keep from throwing interceptions against South Carolina giving them a 1300 point visit and completely locking me out the week he's scheduled to visit. :glare:

Bush is a good, not great TE prospect. With poor catching and poor run blocking, he doesn't live up to the hopes the Gators had for him but he does add another body to help out in 12/22 personnel formations.

If the Gator coaches can find ways to get him the ball, he can punish smaller defenders, but getting him the ball will be the issue.

Look for Bush to contribute as a Freshman but will be slotted behind fellow Freshman Avery Smiley at the Tight End position.

Florida signs 4 more to bring their total to 20. With 5 scholarships remaining, the coaches are focusing on depth in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

With the signing of JUCO QB Ben Lewis, the Florida coaches knew they were set for the next two years but wanted to find a plan for after Lewis graduates. Nick Jude is that plan and becomes the future of the program.

With a strong throwing arm and time to work on his accuracy, Jude will likely become better than Lewis is by the time he graduates. Look for Nick to redshirt his first year and have the luxury to learn the program for a couple of years before being thrust into the spotlight.

Boone has all of the makings of a stud of a WR. While his base catching skills need some work, his ability to make circus catches, catches over the middle of the field, and just general ability to get open, he'll be a playmaker for the Gators in years to come.

Coaches will evaluate Boone and the rest of the receivers once Fall camp starts to decide whether he will redshirt or not. Either way, after next year, he'll be the successor to current all-everything WR Travis Anderson.

Phillips is the fourth OL signing of this class and is part of an effort to completely rebuild the offensive line. With great strength and run blocking ability, he'll be ready to start right away. However, the coaches fear that his poor footwork in pass blocking could lead to some errors in the passing game.

Marquardt comes in as the best all-around pass blocker in the rebuilt offensive line. With good strength and pass blocking, he'll be a perfect fit to be the blindside blocker for the Gators. He will need to work on his run blocking ability but with four other run blockers along the line, he'll be able to have a season or so of learning.

ElevenWarriors.com - Meet Ohio State's New STAR

The last player to commit to Ohio State as part of the "Dream 14" isn't the most talented or the most "ready" player in the class, but he may be the most important.

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac330/jeffhc/2014_Lee_Gore_zpsdf9aea89.png
SS
In most defenses, Lee Gore would be an easy pick to move to Cornerback. He covers well, both in man and zone, and is a capable tackler. He displays an instinctive recognition of what the opposing offense is doing, and takes good angles to the ball carrier; all of which would be welcome skills as a boundary or field corner. Instead, Lee Gore comes to Columbus as the STAR, or second Strong Safety. At the STAR position, Gore will often be the fifth defensive back on the field, sometimes lining up where teams would normally use a Nickel or Dime back.

Gore was one of the few only players that the Buckeyes faced competition for this season. He went into National Signing Day deciding between the Buckeyes and rival Michigan Wolverines. Coach Jeff HCross was thankful he chose the good guys. "What Lee gives us is the ability to run our defense. Last season, with the personnel we had available, we didn't have any set defensive identity. We tried the 3-4, basing out of Nickel, and the 4-3. With Gore playing STAR, we'll be able to use all of our five DB sets that we prefer to run."

Gore will be a Day One starter for Ohio State.
