Considering the steaming crap that 2K laid upon their NBA game by way of the addition of VC and locking everything up (including freaking roster changes) behind VC, if they ever released another football game in the future and even considered putting VC in it, I would never consider buying OR renting it in the slightest.

This would be the correct answer. On the field it was far better than Madden on many levels (OL/DL interaction WR/CB interaction) just to name a few.

People are basing this on two factors:
1. rumour that 2k has motion capped some nfl players
2. speculation that 2k has hired a "phantom team" of developers

Since this is all there is to go by it seems pretty thin "evidence" to say the least. That being said I am all for competition and would love to see a 2k option. I think it would force EA to step its game up and give consumers a choice of their best option. I love that basketball has an option and it would be great to see in the NFL again.

I find it hard to believe that 2K would be back in football, but you never know.

Ironically the year Live comes back 2K takes a dump on their customer base. Competition does not always equate to better quality. NHL has done pretty well for itself without having competition. That said I hope we see another 2K football game, just to have a choice.

It's just an opinion website with no actual facts or concrete links. It would be different if it was an actual 2k/Take-two site with quoted sources. The 200 posts are people sharing opinions

I know but you can get some good info in those comments about what has been going on...Piru87 knows the guys at 2k Sports..He's been in contact with them...2K Sports is suppose to be making a contract offer after the SuperBowl....But I'm with you, who know's what will happen, but at least something is happening....Crossing my fingers...It's all Hear say right now, but I think something good is going to happen...We need 2K to make a football game.

Those of us who grew up playing Electronic Arts (EA) Madden football video games can appreciate the exclusive licensing agreement between the game maker and the NFL since 2005 which was set to expire this year. However, according to EA’s new CEO Andrew Wilson, the company plans to continue making the games for the foreseeable future.

EA has a licensing deal in place with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) that allows EA to use the names and likenesses of NFL players in the games and a deal with the NFL for everything related to the league’s branding all team colors, names and logos. The reports that EA’s deal was going to expire date back to the NFL lockout in 2011, which threatened the cancellation of the entire season.

EA pays the NFL and NFLPA $50 million for the exclusive rights to create the Madden games and an additional $2 million to former Oakland Raider coach and broadcaster John Madden.
