Washington wins in incredible fashion

Despite giving up 6 turnovers (5 fumbles, 1 interception) and not managing to take away any of their own, Washington still managed to eek out a one point win over B1G Champion Ohio State. The Buckeyes started strong scoring 31 unanswered points to open the first quarter (largely due to the 4 turnovers in the first quarter). After exchanging touchdowns in the final 1:37 of the first quarter, the Huskies found themselves down 38-8.

From that point forward, the Washington defense stepped up allowing only 14 points in the remaining 3 quarters of play. On the opposite side of the ball, QB Cyler Miles had his best game of his career completing 28/37 for 520 yards with 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. That, combined with a solid running day for HB Bishop Sankey (21 carries, 149 yards, 0 touchdowns), the Huskies managed an incredible combeback scoring 26 points in the fourth quarter.

The final of those points came after the Washington defense managed to force a three & out for the Buckeyes with 3:30 remaining in the game. Down 52-50, the Huskies needed only a field goal but they also had to ensure that the Buckeyes wouldn't have enough time left. The Huskies' offense marched down the field chewing up yards with their potent running game eventually setting up a 49 yard field goal for Freshman Kicker Aaron Mitchell. Mitchell nailed the kick leaving Ohio State 16 seconds on the clock.

Taking over at their own 25, the Buckeyes needed only a field goal and with 3 timeouts, it wasn't completely ruled out. After two plays, the Buckeyes managed to move the ball just shy of midfield. With only 6 seconds remaining, the Buckeyes decided a field goal wouldn't be possible so they decided to attempt the hail mary. QB Braxton Miller had plenty of time and launched a bomb down the sideline where he found WR Devin Smith just shy of the goalline. Smith was immediately tackled but was falling toward the goalline... as he hit the turf, you could see his arm lunge forward trying to cross the goalline. But it was too late... the refs ruled him down at the half yard line, time expired, game over.

WASHINGTON WINS!!!!

Upon checking the replay, the refs got it right... Smith's wrist hit down while the ball was short of the plane of the goalline.

Due to some PS3 issues, I am gonna have to leave the league. It is no longer functioning and I'm not going to be replacing it. I enjoyed the one season in the league and wish I could've stayed for more. Good luck going forward.
