A lot of damn good games this week. Probably won't catch any of the games on Thursday. Friday, I'll probably focus on Bowling Green Buffalo, but flip to the other two as well. Afternoon, I'm equally interested in all three games, so I'll be constantly jumping all game long between the three. Then the evening, I'll probably focus more on The Civil War.

Saturday, a busy day. Due to work (we do an Ohio State-Michigan viewing party at the local VFW with our winter campaigns at work), I'll probably be watching only Ohio State-Michigan and might not see any of the other two games at noon. Afternoon, Wyoming-Utah State gets top billing, though it'll be on my laptop. On my TV, probably North Texas-Tulsa, after that, god only knows. Probably so much jumping around that I'll need a new remote by the end of the day. Evening, I'll probably focus on Clemson-South Carolina. Then to wrap up the night, San Diego State-UNLV, jumping over to check on Boise State now and then.

Oh, and not to forget, watching a bunch of FCS playoff football throughout the day on ESPN3.

Holy shit. A missed 57 yard field goal, followed by a 100 yard return off the missed field goal, and Auburn knocks off mighty Alabama 34-28. Today has been filled with one "holy fuck" finish after another.

Yep. It all comes down to numbers. Alabama is now out of the SEC title game, so their regular season is done. They don't get that extra game to make up lost ground. So Alabama's only hopes are for a shit ton of upsets.

A minimum of two or three teams out of Florida State, Ohio State, Auburn and Missouri would have to lose. I'd even throw Clemson into the mix if they beat South Carolina tonight. And since Auburn and Missouri will play each other if Missouri holds on against Texas A&M tonight, the winner would be propelled ahead of Alabama for sure. So Alabama would essentially need Florida State and Ohio State to both lose, possibly Clemson as well. Florida State most likely is in, as I just can't see Duke beating them.

Yep, that one loss pretty much fucked Alabama's entire season.

Look at what happened last year, albeit more likely.

Then Alabama gets back in and all the ND haters put that bias ahead of the fucking SEC. Ridiculous. I would root for ANYONE against the SEC in this day and age. Anyone.

With Oregon getting a PAC 12 championship game and Auburn getting theirs, I think the only way Alabama could possibly get back into the mix for the MNC is if Auburn, Florida State, AND Ohio State all lose. The likelihood of that is QUITE low. It's more likely that Ohio State loses to Michigan State and Auburn loses to South Carolina making it Florida State vs Oregon than it is anything else. Now, if Alabama made it in above Oregon, I'd be VERY pissed. Of course, it'd be just another log to throw on the fire of the outcry of expanding the 4 team playoff to 8 teams.

Oregon has two losses... Stanford & Arizona. I don't see them getting in over a one loss Alabama team that lost in that fashion.

Sorry. Oregon made it to their conference title game and theoretically won it (in the above scenario), so they should most definitely get in above Alabama. One loss or not, if you don't at least PLAY in your conference's title game, you absolutely shouldn't be eligible to play in the MNC or the playoff. That's a load of a bullshit. You want to play with the big boys, deal with the consequences of losing to them.

I mean, technically, Oregon shouldn't be there either. They lost two games already, but at least they won their conference title game. That's why I HATE the poll system for determining this shit anyway. It should be 8 teams that won their conference title in a playoff and that's it. Don't win it? Too fuckin' bad.

Actually mors, it's gonna be Auburn vs. Missouri for the SEC title game. South Carolina needed Missouri to lose last night to get in, but Missouri beat Texas A&M 28-21.

So, I'm viewing it as the winner of Auburn (BCS #4)-Missouri (BCS #5) will be ahead of Alabama no matter what. Other than that, agreed, Alabama's only hopes are for Ohio State and Florida State to both lose. I can see Ohio State losing (their defense was atrocious Saturday, even if it was against hated rival Michigan), but I just can't see Florida State losing to Duke. Duke's football program obviously is good and improving from years past, but I don't see them being on the same level as Florida State. Most likely national title game I see, Florida State (#1) vs. Auburn/Missouri winner (#2).

I say the playoff should be 16 teams. All the conference champs and 6 at-larges (or 5, can't recall the amount of conferences now). At 16, it makes winning the conference important, it doesn't penalize a team like Alabama for losing in week 14 as opposed to week 2, it gives the UCFs and NIUs a chance to prove they can hang with a big boy (and when they do go on a Butler-esque run, everyone will go batshit crazy), and, like pro sports, it'll keep the last few weeks interesting as bunches of teams are fight for a playoff spot. We don't complain when a wild card team wins a championship in pro sports (a team that doesn't even win it's own division) so why should Alabama get the "You didn't even win the SEC" treatment when if you put them in a tournament, they'd easily be one of the top seeds.

PAC-12 championship is Stanford vs. Arizona St. at Arizona St.

Oh right. I totally forgot that Stanford still had the lead over Oregon. So, there ya go then. It has to be Florida State vs Auburn/Missouri for the MNC unless Florida State loses then I could seriously see Alabama still being ahead of Ohio State, even with the loss.

The top 5 is gonna be:

Florida State
Auburn
Missouri
Ohio State tied Alabama

If Florida State and Ohio State both lose, it's sadly going to be an all SEC MNC again with the winner of Auburn/Missouri and Alabama squaring off unless somehow Oklahoma State squeezes in there instead (could possibly see that if Auburn wins since it's highly unlikely that anyone wants to see a SEC rematch for the MNC AGAIN).
