Its pretty bad....... Bad Spawns for such gigantic maps, which leads to camping, less incentive for objectives(makes the game boring whe everybody is just going for kills)

Battlefield is the same way. Looks phenomenal.

That has been a problem on COD since MW2 if not longer, the only way to have fun is also just go for kills.

How are the servers goign so far on the ps4? Are they better or worse for lag?

Played some of this on Friday. Battlefield is MILES ahead of this for next gen. It wasn't that laggy, but the pacing, graphics, maps, etc. are just not even close to Battlefield. It's fun, but like IOU said, going to play the story, do some co-op with Snoop, and sell it.

I think they both suck. :D
If I had to pick one, I'd go with Call of Duty simply because Extinction is absolutely fun as hell when you get competent teammates. I don't know if you tried that mode yet (it's like zombies, only with Aliens), but it's absolutely worth a try. Online wise, the maps are too big and there's no flow. There's lag(you wont feel it most of the time, but it's there), weapons are unbalanced, there's still host advantage, etc... The campaign was okay; it was the first Call of Duty campaign I've played through since Modern Warfare 3, and it was fun, but not something I'd play through again.
Battlefield has the same lag problem; or at least it did, I haven't played in awhile. The hit detection blows. The maps have flow to them, so that's the one immediate advantage. It also looks a hell of a lot better, but I've never been a graphics whore and is honestly the last thing in my mind when I'm playing. I haven't played the campaign yet, but from what I've read, it's 4 hours long and absolutely terrible, so I'm not really looking forward to it when I do.
Both were rush jobs just trying to get them out in time for the holiday launch. I'm SO ready for Titanfall and Destiny. Something new, something fresh, and something totally unrelated to these two severely broken franchises.

I'll have to get Extinction a shot.
I'm definitely not seeing the issues you are on Battlefield though.

Play the game offline a good bit. Then play it online. There are some massive hit detection issues either because of lag or something's wrong with the aiming mechanism. Firing full auto with an assault rifle is basically useless unless you're like 10 feet away from the person because the majority of the shots wont even register. That's why you see everyone burst firing even with fully automatic weapons from relatively close distances.
Aside from that, people have been having tons of problems with lobbies crashing and games disconnecting, even though that mostly appears to be on PS4. I haven't had any of those problems on any system, so I can't speak there.
Then you've got unbalanced weapons. All the issues don't even really matter to me, because much like Call of Duty Ghosts, I find the game play to be boring. It's almost like they've both lost sight of what made them popular. Read around the internet a bit. For every person happy with each respective game, there's 2 or 3 people pissed off because of how dumbed down the games have become over the years. Dumb game play + lag and hit detection issues = a recipe for a game I wont spend much time on.

I'm hitting long range shots routinely with the AK 5C (a carbine more specialized in hip fire). Snoop and I haven't had many connection problems either.

Burst firing, sure. Going full auto, you'll empty out your entire clip and then some. That's my major pet peeve with it. A lot of the shots just don't register and it's mostly noticeable medium-long assault rifle range when going full auto.
Like I said, I probably still wouldn't like it if it performed how it should because I find both Battlefield and Ghosts to feel uninspiring.
I mean, when a studio says they're putting a hold on all other development until they fix their current game, it kind of gives you an idea the state it's currently in. I was never a huge fan of Battlefield 3, either. I thoroughly enjoyed both the Bad Company games, though, those games were dead on when it came to hit detection.

I've read some of the hit marker complaints. While sure there may need to be a tweak here or there but let's be completely fluid here. Players going full auto for shots over 50Meters shouldn't really have many hit markers. I'm sorry they just shouldn't.

You're not getting the point of the argument. It's not the accuracy of the gun that's the issue, it's the fact that the lag of the game says I missed when my screen clearly shows that I hit you. THAT'S the problem and has been ever since Modern Warfare 1.

I play east us and west us region only servers and don't have much issue. You will never ever get rid of the lag in the game. Also I've noticed I get hit markers, I then die from said bad guy and it shows him at 100%. Then said bad guy does and I'm awarded a kill assist ranging from 99-5 for that kill.

I can play as Michael Meyers? Sign me up.
Myers will be a playable character in the new Fog map, where you'll be able to wield an axe and stalk your victims through a location complete with abandoned cabin, campsite and er, torture chamber.
An axe? WTF? Cabins and fog? Sorry COD you got the wrong dude, that is Jason territory. :fp:

Will you be able to JUST get Extinction maps? With zombies you had to buy multiplayer maps with it.
