I started RTTS, but I'm still going through the Showcase. I did it once, got drafted as the first pick in the fourth round by the Astros. Unfortunately, the Astros organization just doesn't interest me that much, so I chose to go back to school to a 2 year Junior College. I just played the first game of my second time in the Showcase. Gonna finish up the last two games here shortly.

There are no babes. Look at the picture. JB is just signing that ball and hoping someone will take it. Either that, or he is writing an order for beer and nachos on the ball.

My second go around in the Showcase, I was able to do good enough to make it into the 2nd round of the draft. Ended up getting, somehow miraculously getting drafted in the 11th pick by none other than the Colorado Rockies. I was watching the picks be made, some of the teams, I wouldn't have minded getting picked by the White Sox, Blue Jays or Mariners, but it ended up being the Rockies to take me in the draft with the 11th pick of the second round.
Probably a good thing too because the next couple teams after the Rockies were the Padres, Giants, Angels, Diamondbacks and Orioles, none of which I would have been particularly excited to play for. I still had the option of going back to school at a 1 or 2 year university, take another shot at trying to be a first round pick, but with no guarantee that I'd end up with the Rockies, nor a team that I'd prefer to play for vs. others teams that I have no desire to play for, best to jump into the Rockies organization at age 20.

Even though I missed a total of around 80 games due to injury this first season in RTTS, I was called up to AAA Columbus due to an injury. I've played SS my entire MiLB career, but will be playing 3B in AAA because one of the best prospects in the game Lindor is at SS.

I jumped into RTTS after only playing 5 innings total of a game in the Show. So my hitting was pretty off in the showcase. Got picked with the 2nd pick of the 6th round by Miami. Houston was sitting there at #1 but passed on me. I like Florida so I decided to skip school and go straight to the pros. Playing RF for AA Jacksonville Suns. I like that I can only play the plays that my player is involved in, allowing me to get through a game in about 15 min depending on how many at bats I get.

Yap is tearing it up in may. Moved from cf to LF because I was DHing a lot. Hitting roughly .350 with 4 hrs. Had my first 5-5 game last night and also had two bombs in one game. Hope to get called up soon
More people need to play this
I'm about 80-90 games into my 1st year. I'm in AAA (New Orleans/Marlins) as a 2B and am hitting between .320 and .330. In a slump right now after getting the average up over .333 mostly due to a an AWFUL series against Memphis. I think I went like 0-15 :smh:

4 games series with Tennessee Yap had 4 bombs. Hitting .397 with 6 hrs 29 rbis on the year. Still early about 30 games in. And just moved to dynamic batting been on veteran
My slump continued last night. At the end of July I'm now hitting like .295 (after hitting .333 to begin the month). I'm on Dynamic hitting and its currently set at like All-Star+ but the pitchers are painting corners and even when I hit the ball hard it goes right at someone. :smh:
Well broke out of my slump in AAA and got back up to like .310 before getting called up to the Miami Marlins at the end of year 1. Played in 3 games and got my 1st MLB hit then proceed to tear my hamstring like Altidore and get put on the 60 day DL to end the season. About to start year 2 as the projected starter at 2B in Miami. Man I need to get traded.

Hit a HR in my first AAA game then proceeded to go 0fer the next 2 games. Got back to hitting pretty good and hit another HR.
I'm tearing it up in spring training. I'm hitting like .350 but the difficulty has now cranked up to HOF+. :smh: I might try to find some sliders b/c with HOF the pitches are ALL right on the line between being a ball and a strike.

AAA has been tough for Yap...only been DHing and hitting around .240 ish with 5hrs. A lot of strikeouts as im a free swinger, the dynamic setting has increased and decreased a good bit here in the past couple days because of the streaky hitting.
Yeah I could use some good RTTS sliders. I'm in the show and am hitting like .280 on HOF+

Started a franchise with the bravos. Couldn't find steelerfans slider so rolled with the most DL'D. Rough start for the Braves. Swept at milwakue. Get beat 2of 3 vs the Nats and now 0-2 vs the Mets in the home opener. Last night in game 2 of the Mets series Beechy takes a no hitter to the 8th and gives up a long ball on 2-3 count to the pinch hitter. Smh.
Can't string any hits together at all and very spuratic. I am using quick counts which I love and just free swing a lot during ABs.

As much as I would love to, I just don't have the time for a full season dynasty on The Show. That's why RTTS is so great, I'm already in season two and I don't play every day.

I'm going to be starting up a pair of threads in the new dynasty/franchise section in the coming days. One will be a Rockies Franchise (unlike NCAA where I can play as other teams, there's just something about baseball that I just can't get interested in any other teams than the Rockies when it comes to a franchise.
I'm also going to do a RTTS thread. I'm trying to decide between Starting Pitcher, Closing Pitcher, Catcher or something like Short Stop or Outfielder. What position would some of you guys find interesting to follow?
I'm not sure how much, if any streaming I would attempt. I tested Twitch streaming on my PS4 last week and it worked fairly well. Got a 10 minute test video recorded of a game between the Rockies and Cardinals with minimal lag or issues. However, in the last two or three days, my internet has suddenly decided to be a pain in the ass, so not sure if the quality will still remain as decent as it was last week. Odds are, I probably wouldn't stream every single game, just major games on the schedule.

I love the interaction and having a typed discussion during and after the games. It makes it feel so much more enjoyable IMO.

Finished the 2015 year with my SP and was called up to the Royals who were in a pennant chase. Got a starting spot the last 3 weeks of the season went 2-1 with a complete game shutout. Wasn't on the 40 man early enough and got left off the playoff roster.
KC offered me a contract for AA bullpen. I declined it and I am starting my final year in the contract with the Royals now.

Help!!!
With batting what setting do people recommend? I am using dynamic batting and I am also using ZONE. I find it helpful to see the yellow circle of the ball range. However, I am only getting singles? Is there something else I need to do with my stance or is it just that my player is a weak power hitter? Even though it is dynamic should I adjust the sliders? If so, to what???

Download my sliders, they are in the vault. I recommend Analog hitting, but use what you're comfortable with. I don't know much about zone hitting.
The sliders may help a bit. Other than that, it's probably ratings or just your limited time with the game.

Thanks Steeler. I will check them out later today.
Jaymo (and I hate how it auto corrects toMahmoud for some reason) I would start with just timing. Forget zone and analog right now as this is your 1st experience with the Show. I would lower pitch speed too and set hitting on Pro. If you want more extra base hits the solid hit slider really has a big impact. I dislike how the game only has 10 slider points but most sliders are strong. 2 clicks makes a big difference.
On lower hitting difficulties the CPU pitcher throws a ton of strikes and it can help you with timing.

Just as a side-note... I am blown away with the Show and its commitment to customization and user options. Designing my payer in RTTS was like playing the Sims 3. Plus all of the options for camera, features, etc. is phenomenal. Tiburon could learn so much from this development team... AMAZING!!!

I normally take the default batting camera and back it out a touch until I can see half of the catcher's box. It helps me with balls and strikes. This pic from my old Giants franchise.

I have the most difficulty with judging pitches low in the strike zone so you'll see guess low on almost evey pitch. I usually only guess the pitch type if I'm ahead in the count (looking for a fastball) or if a pitcher is killing me with a particular pitch.
The pitch speed is slowed down a bit in my slider set. As Rudy said, that should help you too.

So after 40+ games in AA I notice that there are still ZERO INJURIES for the padres organization OR any other team. I have injuries turned to "on" but still no injuries. I am still new to the game so I think I am set to "beginner." Is that influencing why I have no injuries? If I go to veteran will it make the game a lot harder? I'm not ready for that just yet as I am still in the learning process. (Note: I am using Steelers sliders with dynamic settings)

Another question for you all, in RTTS once you get on base does the 3B coach give you any hints on when to steal? I know you can adjust the camera to see him but he doesn't seem to do anything PRE-play. As far as I can tell he only signals to stop or progress from 2nd base.

Be SURE you have Injuries "ON". Also, do you have CPU Roster Control "ON"? I'm not sure, but that could mean that all injuries have to be entered manually.

Really wish RTTS had a transaction page. One or two of my teammates are gone and not sure where or why they are gone. Trade? Promotion? All I know is they are not injured. Apparently some people at OS said it was removed this year. Why??? It's such a crucial thing to have IMO.

I think that is the hardest way to pitch right? Most people I have watched on twitch use the analog pitching with the throw metre. Personally I would stick with what works best. For hitting most people I have spoken to use analog but I prefer the ZONE style as I find the yellow bubble display really helpful.
I've had a few people ask me why I'm using the pulse for pitching. Should I use something else?
I used pulse for 150+ games in SHOW 12. It's fun. It's better than just classic which involves no user timing but is still very ratings dependent. Analog is OK but I get annoyed how it's a lot harder to pitch off the plate based on how it works. 2K's analog was way better IMO. Just do whatever you like. The old pitch meter is still popular and all 4 methods are used per a poll on OS.

Standard Zone hitting will always be my preference. Pitching has kinda been a tossup between classic and metered. Metered takes some getting used to and definitely offers up some interesting results when I am way off.
Those load times... I thought I would never get into a game.

Yeah the load times are horrendous. Especially in RTTS when you are called in to pinch hit game after game. I think this game has the longest load time of any game I have ever played. It's worth it though.

I came across an interesting theory last night. The theory goes that the difficulty from cpu pitching increases with good players and decreases with weak players. In my limited time with the series I think I agree. Right now the batters who are struggling the most are the big power hitters and the ones on fire are the low avg. contact hitters.
For example:
Encarnacion
Navarro
Bautista
All are struggling very badly and all they seem to do is strike out or foul out. The batting avg. for the three combined is well below .200
However, let's look at:
Reyes
Izturis
Kawasaki
Gose
All of them are not the greatest batters yet in my franchise the lowest batting avg. is Reyes at .374 and the highest is Kawasaki at .667
It also seems as though the bigger the hot zone the more difficulty with the pitchers. Whereas a small hot zone results in more success.
Anyone else seeing this or is it just a theory (which I happen to agree with)?
Jaymo, I can.t comment on this year's game but in the past I have always had more success with power hitters (high or low contact) and struggled badly with high contact, low power guys. Your comments actually encourage me.

With regards to franchise mode, I would like to be able to see confidence and energy without having to go into an actual game. It would be useful to have it in the lineup section. Having to do it before the game begins is a very timely process.
