Hey Guys here are our League Rules
This is a "Sim style" league and sim style only from gameplay to roster management. We have implemented many unique and realistic rules that many other online leagues haven't seen. This will be our very first year and we're hoping to make it successful and be around for a long haul but it is all up to you new owners. So please take your time to read and follow all the rules listed below. The more we are on the same page the more Big Boy League is going to be fun. Thanks in advance for your time and good luck with the season!
NFL CBA 2011-2020
(As much as we'd like to we can't completely follow CBA step by step because it is extremely complicated. We will try to have similar rules that we believe are manageable and also if anybody finds a rule that could possibly be added to make Big Boy League a better league in all aspects please do let us commissioners know so we could discuss it.)
League Commissioners
Big Boy Madden 25 League will be operated by co-commissioners cbslink. flansdaman. If you have any questions please do ask.
Respect your opponent, league and the game. We all know we are all competitors and taking a loss is tough, but disrespecting someone isn't necessary.

Scheduling
Teams are given 24 hours to post available times 48 hours to schedule and 72 hours to play. Teams that failed to follow this rule will be put on auto pilot for the opponent to choose either to play CPU or take a sim. Please inform one of the commissioners if your opponent needs to be put on auto. CPU games can not be the last game of the advance period. Big Boy League will advance as soon as the last HUM game is played and will not be waiting on CPU games. Any extensions of the deadline will be at the Commissioners' discretion. Also do not forget to specify time zone you are in. If for some reason teams can not schedule a game time within advance period, the team with flexible availability will then play CPU. Inactivity may result in suspension or permanent ban from Big Boy League.
Scheduling Methods: Teams are expected to use the Weekly Scheduling on this page to schedule their games with opponents. Users can use other means to schedule their games only if both teams are aware and certain that the game will be played. No team should expect another team to contact by any other way but by posting on scheduling thread. One of the teams is still expected to post the game time that has been agreed upon on scheduling thread.
Reliability: If an owner does not show for the scheduled game time, he will be put on auto pilot so the opponent can play the CPU if needed. No show on the scheduled game is disrespectful. We all have lives and should respect each other's time. No one deserves to be stood up and disrespected. Accidents do happen but should not happen too often and continuous violation will certainly result in removal from the league
Absent Notice: We understand that league members have their own lives outside of Big Boy League. If you are not going to be able to play for a long period of time due to vacations, business/family related events or other understandable cases please inform commissioners in advance unless its a sudden matter. We will hold the team for a certain period of time for the owner of the team.
Gameplay
Sim Playing Style: If it's not seen on Sundays, whatever it might be, it will most likely not be allowed in Big Boy League. Also we most definitely do not allow any exploits of AI and such, and possibly some plays if it is unrealistically effective and there's no reasonable counter for it.
No Switch: Big Boy league is a sim style no switch league. Players are not allowed to switch players defensively or offensively to user pick/catch on pass plays while the ball is in the air, but are allowed to user pick or make plays with a player they were in control pre-snap. Any defenders can be manually re-positioned within realism except DLs or rush LBs. Of course no creating nanos or exploits.
Zig Zag Running: No Zig-Zag running to take advantage of A.I's poor pursuit ability. Most common one that we see is where a ball carrier in the open field zig-zags to make pursuer dive and miss tackles. You're to either run in a straight line to the endzone or towards either corner of the endzone.
Play Calling: Calling the same exact play from the same exact formation is an exploit. Vary your play calling. How so? It is because it takes advantage of CPU defenders' very poor compared to real life play recognition skill. This doesn't work in real life because in real life, there's in-game screen shots, film study etc...but in madden there's no such thing. So when you call same exact play from the same exact same formation, it becomes an exploit of A.I's poor play recognition. I'm not saying you have to send your 85 speed WR vs 95 speed CB pn a streak or have TEs like Gates or Graham blocking on pass plays or not taking shots downfield with Megatron one on one outside with a single deep safety look for the sake of varying play calling. You have to play your game and to your strength after all to win games. Just do so from different formations for the reason mentioned above. Of course, this exploit will not be tolerated in this league and violators will be given disciplinary actions.
Teams are all to call variety of plays on offense and defense because with one side not calling variety of plays leads to the other side of the ball having to call similar or same plays over and over again. For example, if defense is calling blitz 80 % of the time, offense will be forced to call screens 80 % of the time. It will be unreasonable to force the offense to run into blitz or throw while receivers are being pressed outside to make QBs hold the ball longer so the blitz can get there to throw in a hurry to force bad throws etc.
Playing to your team strength doesn't mean do only things they excel at as that is not the case in real life either. We are here for the sim experience and winning by doing what mentioned above(calling the right play, but being forced to do so over and over again) isn't fun and definitely is not sim. Football is a game of strategy which makes this sport a very fun sport.
Positional Substitution: R3 sub is allowed. Unless we find something that's not reasonable. However R1 manual sub is only allowed between players from the same position.
Interchangeable Positions: No player is allowed to be put on depth chart that is not his designated position.
Players are not to be put on depth chart other than their designated ones. This measn OLB can not be put in as DE on depth chart. We now have positional change feature so there's no excuse. ALL position changes must be approved by commish as well. This is to avoid manipulating contracts by switching position just to sign them at bargain price.
However there are exceptions to this rule. See the link below.
New Rule : Player Positional Sub Trait
No huddle Offense: No-huddle offense may be used in appropriate situations, i.e., down by a significant amount in the fourth quarter, or in the last couple minutes of the half/game. No huddle offense in other situations are only allowed within realism.
Forfeit: Big Boy League will absolutely not tolerate quitting on an opponent. You quit on your opponent, you quit on Big Boy league. This is where players usually have problems with but teams are to stay sim at all time even in a blowout game. If you know you have no chance of coming back, just try to end the game quickly possibly even pulling your key starters out of the line up to avoid meaningless injuries. Subbing in rookies or younger talent to get some playing time with them within reasons is allowed but even then you don't have to keep throwing every single down to pile up stats. The same rule applies to the winning team.
Gameplay Complaints: You should assume your opponent is following the rules above in good faith. If you feel strongly that an opponent is breaking a rule, you can pause the game and send a PSN message to your opponent about it. Example: your opponent is breaking the no-switch rule. You pause the game to remind him of the rule. That said, you should not make a habit of pausing the game, as it disrupts the flow of the game and you can always lodge a complaint after the game is over. For example, you do not need to pause the game to question an opponent's fourth down attempt. If you feel a fourth down attempt is inappropriate, make a note of it and raise the issue after the game. Complaints should be addressed to this page for handling gameplay complaints.
If the commish feels that a gameplay complaint has raised an issue that should be discussed with the league as a whole, the commish will proceed accordingly.
No retaliation. If you feel your opponent is breaking a rule, you should not retaliate by breaking rules yourself.
No whining. Frequent whining about alleged gameplay violations is just as disruptive and unsportsmanlike to a league as violations themselves. Whiners and violators will both be removed from the league if necessary.
Roster Management
Section 1. Contract: No limit on how long or big contracts can be signed but please remember the longer/bigger the contract the more consequences will come with it especially because of cap penalty.
However, Contracts with no bonus should not be any longer than 2 years.
Any contracts more than 3 years should have at least 20% of total salary as signing bonus, we found out that it is far too easy to sign or resign players long term without much bonus, often not at all.
We are here for sim experience so let's not exploit and take advantage of the game.
No NFL players will agree to such contracts.
Violators could face disciplinary actions. Signing/Resigning: Teams are not allowed to release players just to sign him right back at a bargain price within the same season. IRL, teams cut players for a reason and mostly do not get signed back by the team that just released them within the same season. Violators will be Banned from the league immediately and permanently.
Waiver Wire:
TBD
Roster Requirement: Roster requirement-53 minimum. No less. If a team plays a game with less or more, there will be disciplinary actions. This is to mimic NFL, in real life teams will not carry less than 53, they will carry more if they can. Also this is to prevent teams from saving cap space by carrying less number of players to keep their high priced star players, just to see them get injured and leave the franchise.
Trade: Players who are in the first year of new contract are not eligible for trade negotiations. This is to prevent teams to sign a player to a one year deal just to trade them away. Franchise tagged players are eligible for trade negotiations.
Change of Ownership: Big Boy League may allow owners to swap teams as long as rules listed below are followed.•Swap may only be allowed between HUM controlled teams.
•If for any reason one of the new owners leave Big Boy league within short period of time after team swap is made, other owners are to return to the former team immediately. We will not let an owner switch team just to leave right away intentionally or unintentionally

Okay Guys I've decided to change the Speed Threshold to 38, I know it seems drastic from my original 100 Speed Threshold, but I've gotta give props to my boy Blue Ninja and my fellow league mates for bringing it to my attention. I've watched a lot of football the last couple of week's and noticed that there are plenty of explosive plays in any given football game although not to often, but the difference in speed was becoming more and more evident both in college, and the NFL. So I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong. I do like this adjustment and think it will greatly enhance your game play. With my "Fatigue Set" Fatigue is set to 65 and the auto-subs at sub in 1 and sub out 1, the game should have a more real feel to it, also I posted something similar on OS about my "Fatigue set" and caught a lot of flack about my post so let me try to explain this to any one who will listen. First thing your starter's will stay in for most of the game on this set, if you don't sub them out yourself this comes down to "Game Planning" note once the player goes from red to dark blue this means they are almost gassed out completely (here's where the condition of your player comes into affect so plan your game plan accordingly ; note check your players stamina rating also your starters will get hurt if you use them for the entire game without a break that applies to anyone playing a physical game remember we are trying to achieve a realistic game play here. It is common in the NFL for every team to have sub packages ie (4 and 5 WR set's, ace formations, pistol on offense then you have quarters, nickel and dime packages on defense) keep in mind that the third and fourth WR's could be starters if someone goes down and the same for the defense. Let's use some examples I just recently watched the Vikings and Lions game and I didn't notice Adrian Peterson or Calvin Johnson play every offensive down and these are two extremely will fit athletes but there coaches wouldn't dare play them every play because they wouldn't be very effective why? Because fatigue affects the game, the NFL uses sub packages to get the maximum effort from each one of their players and so should you. Typically the only group that doesn't come out of the game is the offensive line unless they get hurt, and the QBs. Thirdly we are trying to achieve realistic game play here and fatigue plays into every game, the more conditioned you team is the greater your chances of winning are we want to find a formula to expose the players who are out of shape and improve the players who are. If your players get tired then you should expect them to make more mistakes than they would if they weren't so fatigue. Post your commits I would like some good feedback.
