We have some massive Fallout 4 rumors to bring you now, just hours after Pete Hines potentially hinted on Fallout 4 only just getting started on development. The whole world thought that Fallout 4 was absent at this year’s E3 event in Los Angeles, but a new rumor doing the rounds is claiming that footage from a Fallout 4 trailer was actually shown at the event behind closed doors.

Imagine that for a second. Fans are going wild and hungry for the briefest hint that the game is coming, but Bethesda instead chooses to show the game to press only in a private section of E3. It’s not the first time that we have heard of games being shown privately and details slipping out in due course, but could this be true about Fallout 4?

We all know the game is coming, but Bethesda has previously hinted that they would only be willing to show the game off when they have substantial content to reveal. This trailer though was apparently 37 seconds long according to information posted to Bubblews and supposedly confirms post-apocalyptic Boston as the main setting for the game.

That is not all though. Additional information we’re hearing is that Fallout 4 will not have a release date until 2015, if you can believe that, but it will be still coming to current-gen Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms – as well as Xbox One, PS4 and PC of course. We thought at the very latest we would be playing Fallout 4 in 2014, but a game that is still two years away from release sounds hard to believe at the moment.

An official announcement of Fallout is apparently due before E3 2014, which still paves the way for a possible showing at the 2013 VGAs as we discussed here. It’s a shame we have no actual evidence of this 37 second trailer to show you though, which again doubts the authenticity of these claims.

Do you think Fallout 4 was shown at E3 and could have a 2015 release date? It seems somewhat strange that current-gen consoles will still be involved in such a big project. Give us your thoughts on this.

Yeah... I played them mostly on PC so I can't remember with 100% certainty for consoles but I'm pretty sure you can. You can even zoom in how close you want the over-the-shoulder cam to be.

Bear in mind, the animations for running, etc. are pretty awful but obviously you still get to experience the game. I rarely used it myself, typically just to check out my newest armor addition or something.

I'm a bit hit or miss on this when it comes to FPS games. I have had my moments on some games where I have to take a break after a bit because I start to get that sick feeling. Yet other games, I can play for hours on end with no problem. It seems to be a sort of game by game basis for me.

3rd person will be essentially the same as it was in Skyrim. If you enjoyed Skyrim, you'll enjoy this as it's basically Skyrim with guns instead of magic/arrows.

I beat Fallout 3 and most DLC on 360, and never played it on PS3. Started a new story on the PS3 with the GOTY edition last night :) shit, I played for three hours and it was 2:30am before I knew it :D

Recording update: I'm looking into ways to get the recording from my phone into a link that I can post, it'll probably have to wait until I get home in 2 1/2 hours. Sorry for the wait!Over all the game looks amazing. I'm extremely excited now. The dialogue sounds great and improves the game in my opinion, you guys have nothing to worry about for the voiced PC. Here are some highlights, feel free to ask questions, I will do my best to answer any and all. I also have an audio recording (sorry Todd, I had too...) that I will post later today, probably in 4 or 5 hours.
-Opening the pipboy will pause the game
-New quick select menu for weapons (a lot better)
-Looting no longer pauses the game
-Choose from about a dozen unique companions, you can have only one at a time (Romance with human companions confirmed)
-Four confirmed companions are Dogmeat, Codsworth, Preston Garvey, and Piper (a feisty female journalist you meet in diamond city)
-Cool weapons: Night vision rocket launcher, hardened sniper rifle, full auto plasma rifle, scatter laser musket. Laser rifles are CRAZY cool now.
-Raider Scavver - Basically an asshole in power armor like armor.
-Reinforcements - after clearing a building a vertibird dropped off two guys in power armor to aid the Sole Survivor with some scavvers and a behemoth. The bird was then shot down and blew up (it was awesome)
-Feral ghouls climbing through windows and dropping from ledges. shooting their legs out caused them to fall down and be unable to move. Perfect chance for an execution.
-Your SPECIAL will greatly effect your character, most perks will have multiple levels and you SPECIAL values will effect what perks you have available to you. (If I'm incorrect any other attendees feel free to correct me)
-There is a button for throwing grenades along with a grenade counter in the top right
UPDATE 1: (Fixed the formatting too)
-Explosive barrels that you can use to tactically eliminate enemies. Very effective if timed correctly
-In the Lexington ruins you encounter feral ghouls, raiders, raider scavvers, and a super mutant behemoth. After clearing the Corvega factory ruins you enter a courtyard area where a vertibird drops in two men in power armor to assist you.
UPDATE 2:
-MELEE ATTACKS WITH YOUR GUN AND CRAZY COOL EXECUTIONS WITH MELEE WEAPONS! - How could I forget these, they're awesome! You can smack someone with the butt of your rifle and you can do a brutal execution in vats with melee weapons. They definitely improved the melee attacks for this game.
-And fallout shelter for android will be released 8/13/15

Either L2 or L3 I think. It's easy. I don't think it makes you go first person at all.

My life will get sucked into this game when it comes out. I bought the regular edition and the sold out Pip Boy Edition. I'm pretty sure I'll sell the Pip Boy one for a nice profit.

It was a one click switch. like JB said. The only time you might spend in FPS mode is if you use VATS (Technical combat) where you lock into targeting an area to shoot at. Just a guess as I never played in the 3rd person.

The XB1 controls were leaked and it looks like it may be something you switch with the back button. So maybe the touchpad on PS4? Of course anytime you go into VATS Combat, it probably does throw you into a FPS scenario as you pick the part of the body you wish to aim for.

I watched about 1 hour of a guy streaming this last night. I still can't believe twitch didn't shut the stream down! I don't play this series so take this comment with a grain of salt but I honestly would have thought it was Fallout 3 had the load screen not said Fallout 4. Yeah I also read that review. I thought it was interesting that he referred to the game as a less interesting version of Dragon Quest: Inquisition.

Based on the reviews he seemed to say...
the story is boring; the pacing is too slow; the side missions don't connect to the game; it is very difficult; no reason for newbs to the story to buy the game

On the positive side he did say the graphics were spot on and people who love the series will love this game.

Listening to the Kinda Funny review, it sounds like you will die quite a bit. One of them said that they've already died more in Fallout 4 than they did in FO3 & FO:NV.

No, it's all about what area you're exploring. You can explore an area and run across very few enemies, then step into an area and be surrounded. As well, there are "dungeons" to explore where you generally have to kill a bunch of people/creatures inside.

As well, with crafting & settlement, you can spend hours doing just that if you wanted to and of course never see any enemies.

Nice. Only been through one so far.

Finally did lose a life in the game, though most of my time has spend tearing down everything in Sanctuary. One Feral Ghoul, no problem. Three Feral Ghouls, challenging but a shotgun will do the trick. Twenty Feral Ghouls and only armed with a Police Baton. Kinda fucked. Never had that many enemies chase me in Fallout. Not to mention they are pretty quick.

One slight agitation is Dogmeat. The things Raiders say and do to that poor dog every fight. Can you make him (stay command) in Sanctuary and he will not travel with you?

I'm in the same boat. At the end of the day I prefer action RPGs over true RPGs. I liked dragon age inquisition but really preferred Mordor over it easily. I might give this or witcher 3 a try but I think I would prefer assassins creed.

Room in that boat for me? I am stuck between Assassins Creed and Fallout 4. AC is what I know and I know I would enjoy it. Fallout 4 is way out of my comfort zone but I find it very intriguing. That being said, I am not a gun play typer of player and I know I would struggle with it. I would much rather be in 3rd person like CLW says.

That is when you use the VATS system. Not everyone like running and gunning and this system makes the gunplay/melee more RPG'ish. The higher the number the better chance of hitting that spot. It is particularly useful in taking out enemies shooting arms and making critical shots on tougher enemies, as once the crit level is high enough you can choose to use one.

You have what is called AP (Action Points) which is shown on the screen. This affects how long you can sprint/heavy melee, and how often you can use of VATS. There are certain perks you can unlock that will allow the AP to regenerate faster for more VATS usage. There are also special perks when using VATS, if you check out the skill tree.

I was wondering what was up. I was in some town, not Diamond City and there were Halloween decorations all around. Checked and apparently there are Christmas decorations once you near that date. Really nice touch, love the little things in games like this.

Another interesting small thing, ran into a travelling vendor as I was going towards the junkyard (word to the wise, stay away unless you have your power suit and firepower, the Super Mutants are a bitch there) and the salesman said he doesn't have any inventory, but head to a specific vault and meet up with him there.

Had fog fall in for the first time. Looked amazing, especially as at wore off.

I did ditch my first character to start with a female. The guys voice just grated on me and I generally play with ladies in these games. Amazing how many things I missed early on and all the mistakes I made. Going to slow my roll and take my sweet time with this run.

At the crafting section, it will tell you what each addition does. Not only does it show traits like damage, weight, accuracy, value, etc., it will also show to the right how it will affect the gun "better hip fire", "slower reload", etc.

You don't have to break it down. When you're crafting, it will automatically use the components that it needs. The rest of the components it didn't use will go into your workbench storage.

Ex. if you need a screw and have a desk fan, it will use the screw(s) from it and store the steel for later use.

To add a bit more, as inventory space is always a concern. Just use the transfer option at a workstation and select. "Transfer all junk" hitting the triangle button. I never scrap weapons or armor from the workbench. I just transfer them to the workbench individually. The more you craft, the longer the names of items get and you will not be able to see which ones are your favorites and accidentaly delete items that are now gone for good. Why they did not add an item lock is beyond me?

A tip for when your weight starts creeping up with only default items. Build a storage container next to the place you craft weapons. Crafting modes sit in your inventory and over time eat up some weight (should be a 0 weight but for some reason it is 0.5 for every new thing you craft). Dump them in the storage when you do not need it and add it to inventory when you

Early on, you'll have to go back to the same spot. Eventually though, as part of settlements, you can set up routes for your settlers so that all of your supplies are available at any settlement you have a route for.

I personally prefer a stealth/sniper approach. Whenever I get to an area that I think has enemies, I'll crouch-walk so that I can get the drop on them. Doing that, you get additional damage for any enemies that don't see you. If you can get a long range sniper with a silencer, you can often pick off an entire group without them ever finding you. FYI, manually sniping while holding your breath is better than using VATS.

I'm starting to build up the community at the Starlight Drive-In a little better...I put a wire fence around the heavy radiation area in the middle of the parking lot :D I also built a house that holds 6 or 8 beds.

As for Sanctuary, I wish I could put a lock on my door, that bum from Diamond City sleeps in my bed!

Ran into him a few weeks ago, was a nice surprise, until he started speaking. Sent him to Sanctuary to hang out will all the other companions I sent there. Not using them with this character. They tend to be more of a nuisance than help.

Regarding that heavy radiation area.

Throw on power armor or take some Rad-X. Go into the building mode and scrap the nuclear barrels. Radiation is gone and you can even stick a water purifier in it.

Regarding the bed

Assign each settler to a bed. Put them in a different building. Make sure each of them has a job and they will not enter your house.

or

Build a house in a settlement with no people.

or

Build a house high enough nobody can get in. You can move the fast travel (done in the crafting section) to someplace on top of or inside the house.

Now if you can teach me how to drug and kill Jun and Marcy Long that would much appreciated. Sturges is annoying but I just put him out there near the bridge all by himself to man a cannon.

Regarding the store, just be in the creation mode, go up to a character not already working on something else, click assign and then walk over to the store and click it. You should get a pop-up that says the store is now assigned. They do not always go over there instantly, just sleep 24 hours and they will be manning the store. It's tricky since the game does not tell you what characters are already doing, if anything, Also you could be taking them off something important like working crops and thus dropping the food supply. I tend to use only settlers and provisoners (you can borrow the caravan leaders to run a store if you catch one coming through town) but the companions and the original guys you save are really glitchy when it comes to working stores. Also when you do get one up running with a worker, check your workbench (transfer) every so often to collect profits.

One little thing I have been working on. You probably already know you can build a pool table. By itself it is kind of a lonely looking thing but you can also collect all the different balls, cues and sticks. Just drop them on the table, from the junk section and you can press and hold the object to move it around. It would have made a neat achievement to collect everything and get it on the table. Still missing three balls but I have a nice little billiards room with all the bobbleheads I find and a couple racks full of the magazines you collect. Need to add a bar but I made the building too small.

So many little things in this game make it great. I really hope they do plan on extending the settlements/objects/etc as part of the DLC. It's a great little addition to the game. Go do mission, come back to home base, build a little something, rinse, repeat.

I did all that and days later no one is manning it. I wonder if I store it in the "warehouse" and put it back out there it'll do the trick? I dunno.

I have got the supply lines working though between Sanctuary, The Castle, and the Starlight. Not sure if I will do it for all, but I kinda want to take care of all the needs at all of the settlements just for something extra to do.

I would give Fallout 4 a go then. You are either not going to like it or become addicted and put a few hundred hours in.

What do you do with armor when not wearing the power armor? Go piece by piece? Or I got this Cage Armor real early in the game that has 24 and 27 for damage resistance.

Answered my own question. Found a nice piece of chest armor and combine the rest of the pieces, it was much more protection than the cage armor.

Answered my own question. Found a nice piece of chest armor and combine the rest of the pieces, it was much more protection than the cage armor.

When doing the regular armor, I always go piece by piece. Much higher damage protection but can make you look a bit foolish early on with some of the raider combos available.

I play a bit differently. Most of the time in power armor, otherwise it is the Vault 111 jumpsuit by itself when playing sneaky. Never use any of the chems, just stick to stimpacks, rad-x and radaway. Will probably do a run on survival mode, doing the exact opposite next. Power Armor only when absolutely necessary and sucking down chems/booze with Cait as we try to destroy the world and obviously, all of our brain cells.

When scavenging what does the magnifying glass next to the item name mean?

With the home base and collecting materials, I pick up almost anything :D especially with oil or screws.

I did this with a low level character so it needs a lot of work but it sports a basketball arena, the middle section is my Minecraft-esque inventory station and finally my house (minus any beds to keep out any of the NPC's).

Change it to 720p for HD.

I was able to kick Mama Murphy (through speech) off the junk and now the visions are gone. Just runs around telling me how she is true to her word and won't touch the Jet anymore. Should have overdosed her dammit.

My big complaint right now, as it was with Skyrim are the "radiant quests." Each faction has them where you save someone, get some tech, clear out an area, etc. The one that is most annoying me right now is the Minutemen. Three times in a row I received a kidnapping report from Abernathy Farms. All three times Mr. Abernathy's daughter was kidnapped. At some point Mr. Abernathy needs to consider locking her ass up because the Raiders seem to have some sort of "Big Lebowski" thing going with her. I just finish the quests and never turn them, to avoid Preston Garvey from giving out even more quests. Some of these are time sensitive and failure leads to unhappiness or damages at the settlement. At least with the BOS you can just say you are not ready for another mission. Really wish I could stop "random settlement is being attacked." Half the time I never see it pop up on the screen. Those are all timed and failure results in a settlements crops being knocked down and most of your defenses need to be repaired.

Just finished the Silver Shroud quest and is easily the best one I have played so far. I wish more quests were this detailed.

I have gone the simplistic route in regards to my home base. Working on the 100% Bobbleheads and Magazines, so they are spread out to keep track. Now on the flip side, you have absolutely no idea how much copper went into making the last part. 120 light boxes, required 12 full size generators, etc, etc.

Game is kicking my butt! Just cleared the museum and Concord of all the raiders but now my power suit is empty and I cannot defeat the deathlock. What am I supposed to do?

Did you get the minigun? It should have plenty of ammo to take care of the Deathclaw. It was right in front of the power armor. Just revert back to the quicksave before you got into the armor. Get into armor, get minigun, jump down (you can jump from any distance with no damage to power armor) and go straight to where the Deathclaw comes out. Since they are large beasts, do just inside a building where they can't attack. They might run away but you can lure it back and repeat. Also since you are new to the game do not feel bad about lowering the difficulty a notch. It's pretty tough, especially for someone new to the game.

Also don't forget to pickup the bobble head doll in the room where you first meet the minutemen.
