We are making the finest college football video game known to man, coming to X360 and PS3 in 2014 -- and we want you to help design it.

For the Love of the Game

If you’re anything like us, you love football. You’re watching games every weekend, yelling at the screen, celebrating your team's every win and agonizing over every lose. But if you’re anything like us, somewhere along the line, football video games lost their fun. They stopped being about the game and started being about making money for an executive trying to hit a yearly revenue target.
We're tired of waiting for improvement and a better game. We can do better. We’re going to make the best college football game ever. We have a team lined up full of football fanatics and 5-star developers, and zero business executives. We’re not into marketing gimmicks and exclusive licenses. We’re here to make the best game we can, not the cheapest game we can. We listen to fans and incorporate their ideas. We are making the game that you want to play.

How are we going to do this, you ask?

Better Animation, Better Physics, Better Realism

Our animation system is dynamic - every movement happens for a reason, not because some animation kicked off. In our game, players move like real human beings. No suction tackles. No carbon copy offensive linemen moving in perfect unison. No stale animations that you’ve seen
a hundred times. No Superman interceptions. In our game, win because you put your players in the right places, not because the random number generator decided to be nice to you.

We incorporate a state-of-the-art physics engine, so every step, every hit, every catch, and every block is based in the real world. If a player can make the play in the real world, he can make it in the game. We originally developed the system as a virtual reality training tool for college and professional teams - now we are bringing pro-level realism right onto your television screen.

More True-To-Life Players

In some other games, players are a bunch of numbers on a spreadsheet - in our game, players have real attributes that allow you to match strength with strength. Your quarterback doesn’t have a 93 hands rating, he’s a zone-read magician, a sprinter with a poor delivery, or an option specialist. Your running back makes great cuts but has problems getting sideways to burst through those small holes. Your linebacker has great closing speed but is frequently out of position. Real players aren’t numbers, they’re a story, and that’s what they are in our game.
We’re developing a video analysis system that brings the players straight from the field into the game. Does that quarterback have a tendency to run when you pressure him? Does that lineman start to droop after the third quarter? You’ll see that in the game.

Deeper Strategy

Go deep in the strategic game with our coaching simulation. Each week you prepare your team for the upcoming game by customizing drills for players, checking the scouting reports, and building a practice plan for your team. Develop your players to reduce their bad tendencies, and increase their good ones. Create your own strategies, formations, and plays - make the team your own. In the off-season, position your team for the future by cultivating recruits through multiple years. Don’t play crude guessing games to get that perfect OT - build his interest in your team from the time he’s a freshman in high school. Hire and fire coordinators and position coaches to build your staff for the long haul.

Play The Game You Want
Our most important designer is you, the fans. We already know some of the things you want. High-quality graphics, professional announcing, licensed teams and logos, responsive online play, the ability to play both on the field and in the coaching box, taking your team to the national championship again and again - all the things that you expect in a top-shelf football game will be there. But we know that it’s the little things that make a game great - the little ideas and tweaks that people come up with after hundreds of hours playing football games over decades. That’s why we want every idea you can send us. That’s why we have a special Developer Mode pledge level for access to our developers. If you've ever wanted to be on the team of a football game, this is your chance.
(Just like with industry designers, we can’t promise to implement every idea, but we will explain why if we can’t do something.)

Why College Football?
Simple, because we are huge college football fans; That’s why! But in addition to that, the dynamics of college football are by far the most challenging and make for the most interesting gameplay. The recruiting process, the team management, scholarships, and constantly revolving players force gamers to constantly adapt.

Where And When Can I Get The Game?

College Football Championship 2014 will be released (with a different name) on Xbox 360 Arcade and Playstation Network immediately prior to the 2014 college football season. It will sell for $30, half the price of existing football games.

Risks and challengesLearn about accountability on Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/kickstarter%20basics#Acco)

Video game development is an inherently difficult process. Technical difficulties, aesthetic challenges, and collaborator mishaps are all part of the process.

To alleviate some of our risk, we have assembled a senior development team with over 25 released console titles. Our experience, knowledge and drive, combined with a deep understanding of football, and already formed partnerships all contribute to reducing this risk.

Although game development remains risky, we are confident we have the experience and passion to create a great football game. Our engine is nearly complete, and although we have a lot of work to do on graphics, online play, and user interface and controls; with the help of the community we will complete our game ahead of schedule with time to address fan concerns before we release.

Something we did back in the day on other sports gaming forums was when someone made a redundant topic, a countdown was created to save the thread. We used to start at 100 but rarely ever made it there, so...
